Brent wasn't going to hurt him? Then why were his emotions so angry. Why was he yelling. Chase didn't like yelling. He could really do without it and Brent was yelling. Chase knew he fucked up by kissing him, but he didn't think it had even been that big of a deal. A little awkward, sure. But nothing that needed freaking out about. No one knew. Brent wouldn't get in trouble. Chase would get over it, everything would be fine. But Brent was blowing it out of proportion. "I don't understand why you're being so mean. It was just a kiss. Spur of the moment thing. I didn't mean to do it and it was stupid. I won't tell anyone. You won't tell anyone. Problem solved."

Right, so Brent would disregard the kiss if it made the fae feel any better. That wasn't what was particularly bothering him anymore though. "Okay. Fine. I've forgotten about that. What's irritating me the most is that you think that I'm going to hurt you. Why? I don't get it?" Brent calmed himself slightly, lowering his voice too. His fingers kept twitching, itching to burn anything they could. Brent forced his mind to focus on Chase, not fire. On the whole, it was working. To his left, he could still see, feel and hear the previous fire continuing to burn away, unfortunately that wasn't helping.

Chase's face turned to confusion. Brent didn't care about the kiss anymore? He cared that Chase thought Brent was going to hurt him? That was... unexpected? Chase wasn't sure what the word for it was but he shook his head slightly. He tried to force himself not to feel Brent's emotions, but it was a bit hard for him when Brent was the only person around and Chase couldn't turn the emotion feeling thing off. His answer... would have been different if Brent didn't know everything about Chase's past now. But Chase felt good about being able to tell the truth. "Everyone hurts me, Brent. Don't take it p-personally. I'm constantly afraid someone will hurt me. Why do y-you think I stutter all the t-time and am afraid of people. It's j-just who I am."

Brent could understand that, considering Chase's past but, still, he didn't want to be grouped with everyone else. "I'm. Not. Gonna. Hurt. You." the hybrid said slowly, taking a step towards Chase after each word and ending with what could possibly be considered a smile, although it was more sarcastic that anything. "I'm not 'everyone', yes?" he added quietly. He mentally had his fingers crossed that he'd successfully conveyed his point. That was all he was aiming to do here.

Brent wasn't going to hurt him. Right. Chase could remember that. He was fairly certain he knew that before anyways, but the emotions Brent was having before... they just scared him. He ran away when he felt bad emotions like that. It was his instinct. But he believed Brent. He really did. Chase nodded to him before slowly looking down at his shoes. He didn't know what else to do and he felt terrible for even thinking that Brent would hurt him. Brent was different. Chase didn't know why or how... but he just was and Chase needed to learn that.

Brent felt like he should really say or do something now because he was starting to feel awkward and that only meant he would end up embarrassing himself. But Chase wasn't looking at him, which was a real shame because who would want to not look at a face this gorgeous when they had the opportunity. To fix that, Brent gently placed his hand under Chase's chin and tilted it upwards slightly so they could see each other. "We okay now?" he asked, vaguely aware that he was probably breaking some student-teacher boundary rule but not bringing himself to care because he was a terrible hypocrite like that.

Chase let Brent put a hand under his chin and bring it upward so he was forced to look at him. His eyes met Brent's and... he kind of forgot where he was for a minute. When he finally figured out what he was doing and what was happening, Chase nodded slowly and tried to give Brent a small smile. "Yeah. We're good."

[/b] Chase whispered, and they were good. Chase was glad to know someone like Brent. It was a nice change. Knowing a guy like Brent and then knowing a guy like his father. He would definitely take Brent any day.

"Awesome." he smiled. Then Brent retracted his hand and narrowed his eyes in thought while he tried to come up with something vaguely interesting to say. This was Brent, so he had nothing that really sprang to mind. That was to be expected, obviously. "Uh, yes, so..." he bit his lip and glanced around in another attempt to find something to carry on the conversation with. Again. He couldn't find anything of interest. Why was it always him that was stuck in this situation? Because God was jealous of his beauty? That was the only reason he could think of.

Chase thought that maybe it was a good thing they had talked it out. Chase wanted a least one person in this school that he could go to if he needed someone to talk to or needed someone to just hang out with. There was his roommates... but they were the best people in the world. He thought Brent was kind of perfect. It was clear Brent didn't have anything else to talk about when he spoke again. His hand was away from Chase's face, so Chay could think straight now. He sat down on the ground. His sitting position quickly changing to a laying one as he looked up at the sky. "I like the forest. It's peaceful and normally no one comes out here. I like looking at the clouds too. Figuring out what shapes are there."

Aww, those were cute reason to come to the forest. Brent was almost jealous but he was too distracted with inwardly flailing. "I come here to burn things when I need to." the hybrid said, being falsely cheerful. He was totally cute too. With his adorable pyromania. Yup. Everyone just loved him for that.

Brent leant back against a nearby tree trunk and watched Chase from the corner of his eye, which happened to sound a lot creepier than it actually was. At least he wasn't blatantly staring at the guy.
