Keep Me Closer [CHASE]

Brent had actually managed to get to sleep at a slightly more reasonable time than usual, which was probably because Daniel had gone out to do werewolf things and he'd forced himself to get some sleep otherwise he'd end up worrying and waiting up for him. At one point he'd started thinking about what would happen if werewolf Dan found Chase... but he wouldn't. Chase would be asleep and everything would be fine.

He'd sprawled himself out across the whole bed, as per usual, and was snoring softly into his pillow. Half of the duvet was on the floor, the other half barely covering his legs. Brent was a bit fidgety when he attempted to get to sleep sometimes but tended not to move much once he was dreaming. Tonight clearly proved that.

Chase didn't dream much. He didnt know why but his mind just didnt let him dream. So when he woke up after being asleep for a few odd hours sweating and breathing hard, he almost couldn't believe it. His mind didn't dream because they were always bad and they were always featuring his father.

Chase laid in his bed for a few minutes, silently crying as his roommates were either sleeping or not there. He didn't know what to do. His mind wouldn't let him fall back asleep now. He was too afraid of it. Before he knew it, Chase was pulling on some black sweats and an white sweater before walking out of his room.

He had never been to Brent's room before, but Chase didnt think it would be too hard to find. It took him about ten minutes to locate and knock on his door softly, hoping he was awake and heard because Chase didn't want anyone knowing he was there. Tears were still falling silently down Chases face as he whispered through the door. "Brent... it's me. Please let me in?"

Brent began to stir when he heard someone knocking at his door, followed by someone talking. It sounded a lot like Chase. After grumbling something unintelligible under his breath, he slowly sat up, turned on the light and shuffled over to the door before opening it - blinded for a few moments by the sudden flash. He tried his best to ignore the pounding in his head. Sleepily, he blinked at Chase. It took him a few moments to realise that the fae was crying. That kind of just made his heart ache, seeing the tears staining the boy's face.

"Hey, s'wrong?" he slurred quietly, his speech distorted by his own tiredness so it was more like a drunk whisper. Thankfully, Brent wasn't drunk right now. Hungover, maybe, but not drunk. Squinting since his eyes were still half-asleep, the man reached forward and wiped away Chase's tears gently with his thumbs.

Chase was so relieved when Brent answered the door. He didn't know if part of him expected this to be another nightmare where Brent didn't answer, or he did but it wasn't Brent. Something that would terrify Chase even more. That wasn't the case though. Brent asked what was wrong and wiped away his tears. Chase could, even though he was upset, feel the concern. That was why Chase went to Brent.

"I-I had a nightmare a-about my dad. And I didn't k-know who else to come to."

Oh look, yet another reason for Brent to murder Chase's father as soon as he got the chance. Nevertheless, he couldn't help but find it sweet that Chase had actually come to find him. Add in the whole nightmares thing and yeah, the situation wasn't nearly as sweet. And now he was kind of stuck because he wasn't sure what he was supposed to do to help. Brent settled for a hug, in the end and pulled Chase in close. Hugs were always good. Well, not always... "You don't need to think about it any more, 'kay?"

Chase choked back a sob when Brent hugged him. It felt so different. Having someone that he could go to. Someone that knew. Someone that was nice enough to him. "I'm sorry... I-I know you probably don't want a m-mess of a kid at your door in the middle of the night. I just... I'm so tired of holding it in and you know..."

[/b] Chase muttered, stuttering slightly because he was still half crying and because he was also slightly embarrassed at the whole scene that was going on at the moment. Chase's arms were wrapped tightly around Brent's middle as his head was buried in his chest. "I just didn't want to be alone."[/b]

If anyone else had arrived at Brent's door in the same state at as Chase in the middle of the night, he knew already that he'd slam it in their face. That was kind of... not very nice, so he decided that saying that out loud wasn't going to help anyone feel better here. "It's fine. I don't mind." he whispered, patting Chase's back gently in a sort of awkward way. The crossbreed wasn't exactly comfortable, stood in the doorway wearing Snoopy underwear and pink, poodle socks. However, he suffered in silence because... Brent felt it was somehow necessary to be extremely awkward at the moment.

Chase nodded into Brent when he said it was okay. Chase could feel that... it was. He meant it. Chase thought at least. His emotions were going crazy at the moment, so he couldn't exactly pinpoint Brent's. He did feel a little weird emotion coming from Brent that made Chase look back out the hallway, and then at the pajama's Brent was wearing. He might have laughed if it were other circumstances. "Uhm... C-can I come in? I really don't want to go back to my dorm..."

Brent saw that look. His pyjamas were beautiful, totally beautiful. He just didn't want everyone to see their beauty, it should only be seen by as little people as possible. Or something like that. He was really glad when Chase asked to come in so he wouldn't have to stand here anymore. "Yeah, but... Dianne likes squishing people. Just so you know. Don't let her squish you or you'll literally get trapped forever." Brent warned the fae, glancing over at his dog, who was sleeping on the floor next to his bed. Well, he couldn't tell if she was actually sleeping or just being lazy, to be honest. Brent then released his grip on Chase before leading him into his mess of a room.

Chase almost cracked a smile when Brent mentioned his dog liked to squish people. Chase liked, no loved animals. They were... well. Just kind of amazing. When Brent let go of Chase, his eyes latched onto the dog on the ground before going over to her and crouching down to be able to pet her. She was fluffy. Chase liked fluffy animals the best. "I like animals, remember?"

[/b] Chase told Brent as he continued to pet the dog. He kind of really wanted a pet. Maybe then he wouldn't have to act like a baby in front of Brent and would just cuddle the pet instead.
