He shut the door behind Chase and rolled his eyes as the boy went over to Dianne. She didn't look capable of moving and squishing anyone right now, which was good. Whether of not you liked animals, Brent thought this was still important. "I'm just saying, when she's sat on you and you can't breathe or move or anything and you need the toilet it's not nice." Brent still loved his dog. Even if she'd almost killed him a few times with her heavy weight and love of squishing people.

Chase rolled his eyes at Brent. "Okay. I'll be warned about the dog that likes to squish people and stop them from using the toilet when they need to."

[/b] Chase told him before standing back up and looking at Brent, smiling slightly. "Thanks."[/b] Chase told him just before a big yawn broke out on his face. He didn't even know what time it was... he hadn't looked when he decided he wanted to come find Brent. Chase knew that it was sleepy time though, and that he wasn't sleeping. He just wasn't sure he could sleep. Or... that he wanted to sleep.

Chase didn't sound like he understood just how much of a problem Dianne could be but Brent didn't try convincing him any more because it seemed pretty pointless. He ended up yawning too once Chase had done, which reminded him that it was the middle of the night and he had been sleeping quite peacefully before someone had disturbed him. He smiled back at Chase for a moment and the nodded over at the bed. "Okay. Time for sleep. Sleep is good." Brent announced and then picked up the duvet that was on the floor now, putting it back in the right place.

Chase might have made Brent yawn too, which in turn made Brent think it was sleep time. Chase... didn't know if that was a good idea, but he could go with some snuggling. "I don't know if it's a good idea I fall back asleep, but I'll lay with you while you sleep."

But Brent was fixing the comforter and so... he supposed maybe he could try. Chase went and stood next to Brent, waiting for him to do something so Chase could follow.

Fair enough, Brent didn't mind that. He could understand why Chase didn't want to go straight back to sleep after having a nightmare. "Uh, okay." he nodded, smiling briefly. He then switched on the dim lamp beside the bed, turning off the main light because he didn't like sleeping with a bright light on. Dianne still hadn't moved, luckily, so Brent climbed under the covers now that he'd decided it was safe to. In the semi-darkness, he grabbed Chase's hand and gave it a gentle-ish tug towards him.

Chase watched in amusement when Brent dove in under the blankets, and then grabbed and tugged on Chase's hand for him to do the same. Chase was getting to really like this man. He climbed in and under the covers and wrapped his arm around Brent's middle while laying his head on Brent's chest. He was comfortable with Brent. He wasn't sure why... but he was and he wasn't going to question it because he had never been this comfortable with someone before and this was a milestone to mark. Chase kissed Brent's chest and then looked up at him, still laying on his chest. He gave Brent a smile. It wasn't big. It wasn't small. It was just a smile.

Having a Chase to snuggle with was a whole lot nicer than sleeping alone and warmer too, which was good since he couldn't stand being cold. The teacher will still hoping that Dianne wouldn't venture over because he knew what she could be like. He could hear her snores though, as quiet as they were.

Brent was happy to see Chase smiling and not crying again as he had been previously. "You have a pretty smile." he commented out loud, smiling a little himself as he looked back down at the boy. Softly, he traced a thumb over Chase's bottom lip while holding his chin.

Chase blushed like mad at Brent's words and probably would shoved his face in Brent's chest if it wasn't for the fact Brent had his fingers on Chase's face, holding his chin and running his thumb along Chase's lower lip. Chase didn't think his smile was pretty, but he didn't argue. Instead, he maintained the smile that was his face before talking. "I think your eyes are gorgeous."

[/b] Chase commented as he stared into them. That was the truth. Brent's eyes were amazing. Chase was sure if he had the chance, he would stare into them non stop.

Brent snickered as Chase's face turned bright red. It wasn't fair that he could be that adorable but that had kind of been Brent's fault for making him blush in the first place. When he was complimented in return, Brent smirked. "They are." the hybrid replied automatically. He couldn't exactly disagree, he'd spent plenty of time admiring his own reflection which gave him many chances to notice these things. It did make him feel great when someone else could notice them too though. Especially is that someone was Chase.

Chase snorted at Brent when he agreed with Chase. That would have been the siren in him. Chase didn't care though. He was just agreeing with what he said. It wasn't like it wasn't true. Plus... Chase could feel how happy Brent was about the compliment. So... Chase thought maybe he'd make Brent happier. "And I like your smile. And I like your hips, and your hair, and your eyelashes and your lips, and everything."
