Chase couldn't believe how amazing Brent sounded on the piano. It didn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that the voice Brent had must go with something else, which was the piano, but Chase hadn't pieced that together before. He was smiling as he was drumming, paying more attention to Brent's voice than what he was doing but not messing up either way. They played till the end, Chase smiling when the music stopped still. "You're amazing, Brent."

That had gone quite well, Brent thought. Neither of them had slipped up at all. Playing with someone else kind of reminded him of that one time he was in a band, years and years ago. The Genius Sex Poets weren't well known and in the end a big falling out had brought a stop to their work. Brent sort of missed it but he knew there was no way they'd ever get back together since they all pretty much wanted to kill each other. Which hadn't been his fault at all. Definitely not. Anyway, Chase was a whole lot better than their old drummer. Miles better. He grinned at the compliment and didn't hesitate before returning it. "So are you. Seriously."

Chase smiled at Brent and wiped the little beads of sweat off his forehead. Drumming was hard to do without breaking a sweat at least a little. Then the compliment came, and Chase smiled even wider before getting up and sitting next to Brent on the piano bench. "Thanks. But I'm not that good. Drumming is just a hobby. Nothing special."

[/b] Chase told him, still smiling. Sure, his job was playing the drums at the Gateway... and people liked him playing. But it was still a hobby in the end. One that had got him through a lot of shit.

Brent was still smiling when Chase sat down next to him. 'Not that good', really, the fae was too modest. "Even if it's just a hobby, you're still really good at it." Brent nodded. Playing piano was just a hobby for him and he knew that he was still excellent at it. That was different though; his talent was slightly to do with being half siren and, besides, he'd been around a lot longer than Chase. He thought Chase worked at the Gateway too and drummed there which meant it wasn't actually just a hobby. "You drum as, like, your job too, don't you?" he asked. Brent guessed he was right but he was bad at remembering these things.

Chase couldn't help but blush at the comment Brent was making. He knew he was good, yeah. But he didn't think he was amazing or anything. He smiled and then nodded when Brent asked a question in response. "Yeah. I'm in the band there with a few other students."

[/b] That was the truth, but it didn't mean he was good. It just meant he was good enough to get a job there to play because drummers seemed to be a bit scarce around Northvale. He hadn't met anyone else that could drum.

Brent was never going to not find Chase blushing the most adorable thing on the planet. Obviously because it was and anyone that thought otherwise needed a brain transplant. Well, Brent thought that everyone else would need brain transplants anyway but that wasn't the point. Woah, and he had correctly remembered something that wasn't about himself for once in his life. Brent was proud of himself for that. "Thought so." he mumbled, more to himself than anything. He probably shouldn't have looked so smug about something that was extremely insignificant.

Chase was wondering why Brent's emotion changed to a bit... proud of himself. He didn't understand it at first, but decided that it probably wasn't all that important so he reached over to grab onto onto Brent's hand and laced their fingers together before laying his head on Brent's shoulder and playing with Brent's thumb with his own. "So what do we do now?"

[/b] Chase asked because even though he could sit around all night and read a book, he couldn't stand being bored. Reading was fun, but they were quite literally just sitting here.

Brent rested his head on Chase's once the boy leant his own against Brent's shoulder. Okay. He should probably think of something else to do now other than sit here being snuggley and hold hands but he'd never been good at thinking up anything that wasn't completely ridiculous to get on with. Which was one of the main reasons why he never got around to doing much with his life. "Something?" he offered slowly instead of trying to think up anything more useful to say. Brent was a bit of a huge failure when it came to trying to keep someone entertained.

Chase smiled when he felt Brent's head on his own. He was so so adorable sometimes. Others he wasn't... but that wasn't the point. Everyone was like that. Right? Chase was pretty sure. "So we still haven't talked about the whole Dan thing that morning..."

They hadn't been doing anything... except lay in Brent's bed together which was enough for the guy to freak out. Chase was pretty sure he never wanted to run into him again.

Brent had forgotten about the whole Dan walking in while he was in bed with Chase, not doing anything that should've really made the werewolf freak out as much as he done. But... he wasn't just anyone, he could've exactly blame him. He was pissed off for how Dan had acted towards Chase though. "Yeah... I'm sorry that's he's so... Dan. But he's been through a lot and I'm sure he'll warm up to you eventually. Maybe." Brent added the 'maybe' under his breath because he knew he was never going to be able to predict the boy's actions. He'd have to speak to him about Chase but he was going to put that off a little longer.
