The walk to the music room was pretty uneventful to Chase. They didn't say much on the way there, but Chase didn't mind, he supposed. He just wished he could have held his hand, but that couldn't happen where people could see them just yet. Chase could respect that. When he walked in the music room, his eyes practically lit up with excitement and joy. This was always his escape. "I don't remember what age I was when I got my first drum set. I know it was my mom that got it for me, though. She thought I would enjoy them. I had to be careful though because my dad didn't like the noise."

[/b] Chase told Brent, smiling even though the memory he just voiced was a bad or sad one. It didn't matter.

Brent was really looking forward to musicing (that was a word, in his head) with Chase. It was kind of annoying how they couldn't hold hands or do anything that looked remotely suspicious on the way to the arts room though but Brent knew that was for the best, in the end. He didn't know what to say once they'd gotten there and Chase mentioned his parents. Whenever Brent had to think about Chase's dad he got the urge to burn something. He seemed to have been restricting his son's musical horizons. The hybrid was adding that to his mental and infinite list of reasons why he hated that man. "The only way for me to successfully express how angry your dad makes me is by burning things but I won't. So yeah."

Chase didn't want to make Brent angry or anything. He didn't think about that when he said it. He just... felt comfortable enough to let whatever he was thinking of escape his mouth. "It's done and over with... Yeah, sure I'm still affected by it. But I'm gone. I've been on my own for awhile."

[/b] Chase told him as he gave him a smile and stood inches away from Brent. "I don't tell you these things for you to get upset or anything."[/b] Chase explained, hoping Brent still didn't want to burn anything.

Brent had methods for getting rid of these urges he got from his pyromania - music and Chase being the two most effective, he'd learnt. And he had both of them right here so he was pretty sure that nothing was going to burst into flames inside this room. Brent couldn't because there was a piano. Although this one wasn't his, he'd named it Anastasia and they were wildly, passionately in love. They'd made some beautiful sounds together in the past. And they were about to make some more for Chase. "Okay. Right. It's fine." he nodded. Brent filled his head with happy, Chasey, pianoy thoughts and smiled.

Smiling, Chase leaned in and kissed Brent quickly before going over to the drumset and sitting down behind it. He put his hand on the snare drum and smiled instantly. He pulled his sticks from his back pockets and did a drum roll on the snare for a few seconds before looking up at Brent. "So do you want to play something together?"

[/b] Chase asked with a huge smile still on his face. Just the music... it had been his everything for almost his entire life. Just the sticks in his hands made him smile.

Brent's smile widened briefly as Chase kissed him and then went over to the drum set and played one of the drums that Brent couldn't name because, he'd tried, and him and the drums really didn't work out. Brent sat down at the piano and flexed his hands and fingers which was, of course, one-hundred percent necessary. "Yeah! Like what?" Brent couldn't stop himself from grinning, Chase's smile was very contagious. And... Anastasia. She always made him smile too.

Chase had to think about that. He knew a lot of different songs to play. He had listened to a lot of music period when he was younger and needed an escape. He would plug himself in and learn the drumming to a song. He looked at Brent in thought. He knew that he could play most of their songs because there were drum parts in them all, but didn't know if Brent knew the piano versions to them. "What Fall Out Boy songs do you know on the piano? You can pick any one you want?"

Brent had to think about that one for a few moments. He knew the piano versions to a considerable amount of Fall Out Boy songs so it was just a case of picking one off the top of his head. He was trying to think of one, it had a long title. He could recall the contents of the song perfectly; it was simply it's name that had escaped him. The teacher tapped his fingernails against the keys, not enough to press down on them but enough to make an annoying clicky sort of sound because he knew it would disrupt his thoughts if he did press down more. Chase's drumming kind of had but he didn't care. And then he raised a finger in the air before pointing it straight at Chase, glad that he'd finally remembered the stupid title. "I've Got All This Ringing In My Ears And None On My Fingers."

Chase laughed at Brent trying to think of a song that they could play. It seemed to be taking forever, so Chase was excited when he actually came up with a song. Chase knew that one. He liked it too. Then again, there wasn't a Fall Out Boy song in the world that Chase didn't love and know. ”Gotcha.” Chase said before starting the drumming part to the song with ease, not having to think about it much as he closed his eyes and listened to the rhythm in his head and conveyed it onto his drum set. He missed this so much.

Brent concentrated on the rhythm Chase was playing for a few moments until he was certain that he'd grasped it. Then, and only then, did he play the intro to the song on the piano whilst tapping his foot gently on the ground to help him stay in time although he didn't really mean to do it. He began to sing along too soon after that. Brent knew that he was never going to be fully satisfied when he covered Fall Out Boy songs because his voice was a lot different from Patrick Stump's. He lacked that massive oomph! that came with the redhead's singing, that was only because Brent's voice just had a different kind of kick to it. He thought it was just as good as Patrick's, even if it did really did sound vaguely out of place on a Fall Out Boy track.
