Bertie was on the track. Why, Bertie was on the track was unknown. He was just walking around Northvale getting to know his surroundings. He really just wanted to go burn some things, and a cigarette sounded right nice around this time of the day. So there Bert was standing in the middle of the track smoking a cig thinking about Kit. No one knew that Bert smoked except for himself and this ex-boyfriend of his that got him into the nasty habit. He hated it the taste, the smell, the look, made him feel dirty. Heheh dirty. But here he was unable to kick the nasty habit. Oh, well as long as no one knew he should be fine. Plus he was sure he wouldn't get caught. Kit had told him no one really went out to the track so he should be fine. Outfit- Clicky~

"What a piece of crap!"
Robyn couldn't help but shout at her phone. She'd had it for years and suddenly it had decided to stop working. She hadn't used it for a long time though, which probably didn't help. Still, the fact it had decided to stop working at that moment of time frustrated her. She hadn't damaged it in anyway and the charger wasn't broken. Either way, nobody would be able to help her with it because before she could control herself, she'd thrown it right out of her window.
The girl grumbled as she walked down the corridors until she could get outside and search for her window. When she finally spotted her dorm window from the ground, she turned her gaze to the gravel and started to search for the little object. Eventually she'd found it. The screen was smashed, the back was off, and she had somehow lost the battery while also a few pieces falling off of the thing. "How the actual fuck...?" Robyn muttered as she picked up the destroyed phone. She groaned and ran a hand through her hair. This wasn't what she needed when she had only just started a job as a waitress in a cafe.
She picked up the remaining pieces and shoved them into a bin. Even though it was cloudy out, Robyn couldn't be bothered going back inside. She needed to calm herself a little bit. So instead, she shoved her hands into her pockets and started to walk around the school. Maybe I should go for a run at the track..., she thought. Robyn hadn't gone to the track yet and while she wasn't in the mood to run, she decided it was at least better to have a destination to walk in rather than going somewhere random. She turned herself around and began to walk in the direction of the track.
She never expected to see anyone else there. At least not today. It wasn't particularly nice out. However, she saw the puff of smoke that came from his mouth, even from this distance, and she realised he wasn't running. He was actually doing the complete opposite. "You know, smoking is bad for you." She called over to him for the hell of it.

Bertrand hated when people crept up on him unaware. Bertrand hated people in general but that was besides the point. He especially hated when people told him something he already knew. "Do I look like I give a fuck?" Bertie asked the girl rhetorically. He really didn't care what she thought. But, then again he was trying to be more open to new people since he arrived at Northvale. So, he thought he would grace the girl with the sound of his voice.
He sighed before looking at the intruder of his thoughts. She was actually quite pretty. Not that Bertie would ever admit that he found anyone attractive. "Plus, I'm a fire fae so a little bit of smoke isn't probably gonna hurt me." Bertrand said before realizing what he had done. He was tempted to facepalm himself. Saying something like was like saying "Hi I want to talk to you? You wanna be my friend?" Bertie internally slapped himself for being so stupid. He didn't want to talk to the girl. She was just going to end up annoying him and he would regret it. He just knew it.

Robyn smirked and walked a little closer to him. She was normally quite a friendly person and would often try to become friends with anyone that she met. She could easily see that this guy didn't want to get to know her at all. It woke up her cheeky side and made her want to annoy him as much as possible. Robyn wasn't sure if he'd be easy to annoy but even talking to him seemed to get on his nerves. "You look like you give lots of fucks, probably to a lot of different people." She said, stopping a few feet away from him. Okay, so that might not have been true but if he was going to be rude then she could disguise the word "slut" behind some sentence.
She grinned at him, already feeling a little better about her phone breaking. If she could take her frustrations out on someone then she'd do it. "Fire fae, huh? Well isn't that interesting." Robyn said. She'd never talked to fire fae properly before, maybe just passing one in the hallway. "And sure, maybe it won't harm you but smoking really isn't that attractive." It really wasn't. It smelled terrible and was pretty gross and Robyn didn't really understand why anyone would even do it. Why were some people even attracted to it? It was just something Robyn would never understand, she guessed.

What was this girl saying? That Bertrand was a whore? Bertie was not a whore. Actually he was the farthest thing from it. No one knew that he was. Everyone just assumed that he had. But he didn't. He had plenty of opportunities, he just never felt ready. He almost went all the way once but he just didn't want to scare the other person off with his inexperience thus not gaining any in the process. Well, maybe he'd find that special someone or maybe he'd just give up and find someone to teach him.
Bert knew the girl was probably waiting for some sort of response and Bertie didn't want to give her one. But a few more friends wouldn't hurt. Plus, this one was sassy. Bert liked sassy. "I've been meaning to quit I just haven't found that special someone to give me that last push," Bert said without the sarcasm that his voice usually seemed dripping with. He threw his cigarette to the ground and stomped it out and starting walking towards her. But, didn't let himself get too close. "So, what do you find attractive?" note: He got flirty... I'm very sorry...

That didn't seem like a reasonable excuse to not stop a disgusting habit. Robyn tilted her head, as if to say "Really? That's all you've got?" If he really wanted to stop then he'd be able to do it by himself, for himself. It seemed like he didn't really care if he continued to smoke or not. Robyn scoffed and looked away from him, not believing his story.
She looked back when he asked her what she found attractive? She looked him up and down. Well, not you anyway, she thought to herself. She did decide to give him an answer though, even though she wasn't really sure herself. She'd only been attracted to one person before and he had turned out to be the ultimate jerk. Well she was going to make sure she'd never make that stupid mistake again.
"Well, I like guys taller than me." Robyn started, starting to walk around him in a circle. She'd had a problem with standing still since she was first bitten and it was something she barely noticed now. She just ended up moving or fidgeting in some way. Often you'd see her in class tapping her collarbone or knocking her ankles together. "And guys that can beat people up. Gotta have someone to protect me don't I?"
The girl winked at him, still thinking her answer through. What did she like in a man? She liked the ones that could she her wonderful things. A whole new world. Robyn smirked as she thought about the song. She really did like the ones who could amaze her. It was her one weakness. "I also like the ones that actually give a damn about their future." She told the boy, not really wanting to tell him anything too personal about her preferences. "What about you? What do you find attractive?"

The girl's walking in circles was making him a bit dizzy. But then again Bert didn't mind. He knew the feeling. Her list was pretty vague but it was too be expected from a person he just met. "Well, if it's a girl I like someone who's shorter than me. If a guy I don't care about height." Bert let that sink in. Yes, he liked both genders. He didn't feel like making a choice yet. Why should he? He had plenty of time to make up his mind. Or maybe he'd just live his whole life like how he was. Maybe a bit more sex? Not that he cared yet. He had plenty of time for that.
"I don't need someone to protect me? I'm pretty strong." Bertie gave the girl a wink. Then he realized he hadn't formally introduced himself. "I'm Bertrand by the way, but you can call me Bert, or Bertie, I'm not picky. And by the way I do care about my future. I just know I have a very long time to live. But other than that I do like a nice ass and the person can't be totally annoying." Bert liked this girl's spunk. He decided that becoming friends with this girl wouldn't be a bad idea.

It was interesting to hear that he didn't have a preference to gender when it came to people he dated. Robyn didn't think it over that much though. In the past, she'd had small crushes on some girls that she'd barely noticed but it had got her thinking. Most of the time she'd just pushed the thought to the back of her head. There wasn't much point thinking over something like that right now when she was trying to focus on getting herself back on track.
She caught his wink and smiled. She had to admit that she could tell he could look after himself. Plus he was a fire fae and they had to have pretty useful powers. Robyn was no expert though so you couldn't believe her judgement very well. "I'm Robyn. You can call my Rob or Robbie but expect a slap soon after." She told him. She'd never been one for nicknames and luckily no one had really tried to use one. Although she could imagine Bertie being annoying and deciding he really would use a nickname. Well then, he could expect a lot of slaps from her.
"Well, you're describing the perfect woman! Or man." Robyn joked, finally stopping her walking in circles. She'd rather have a lot more in her dates than just what he explained though. "They definitely have to have a nice ass though. Gotta have something nice to stare at right?"

Two people are talking and pacing down on the track. Having just gotten to Northvale I hadn't met anyone yet and decided to walk down there. As I approached I realized they were mixed company and decided to walk back in case they were in the middle of anything. But no it was too late they had both already seen me and turning back now would be more awkward than standing there as they canoodle. I slowly walked over to them. After a long pause I grumbled "Heeyy" into my shoes and felt the red in my cheeks slowly burn up to my ears. I realized I was blushing making me blush more sending me into a downward spiral of shame and locking my eyes on my shoes beneath me as if glancing at the two in front of me was considered an act of war.

Bert liked it when someone was confident in who they are. It made it much easier to hate them. People who weren't confident were harder to hate. He didn't know why it was harder to hate people who weren't confident. Probably because they hated themselves enough already. But then again, Bert hated everyone. Or that was at least what he told himself. Since arriving at Northvale it seemed he was having a harder time doing so.
"Well, Rob-yn it is then." He said adding a space between Rob and yn. He kinda liked this girl so he didn't wanna piss her off... yet. "My sentiments exactly," Bert said with a laugh. Then someone walked up to them. Bert scowled at the intruder. Who did he think he was interrupting a very nice conversation. Even if he was semi-attractive. That didn't give him the right.
"Hey, yourself. Bert said with a scowl. Then took out another cigarette and lit it up with his finger. He really needed to cut down on the smoking.
