Silver simply smiled and wasn't even surprised that the other was a siren. "I knew what you were. You're scent told me when I had the chance to actually pay attention. And no, go ahead. You can have it." he said as he carefully took the art from the pad and handed it to the other. Then he placed the sketch pad back into his bag and crossed his leg. "If sirens are vain, then my kind are the epitome of vanity. We never age unlike the others. Our beauty remains as is for the rest of eternity." Silver said as he tilted his head with his smile still on his face.

"Well, when it comes to writing, you don't have to hurry. No one's pressuring you right?" he asked. Silver was a bit curious as to what kind of person Elijah Jacobs was. He took special interest in beings that made Silver wonder how they work. And Elijah Jacobs just presented a new pet project for Silver to work with.

The drawing was beautiful and Eli didn't want to ruin it so he placed it beside him and would figure out a way to not ruin it as he took it back to his dorm. Time had never really been a question. He would look the same way for many years to come. Yes, vamps lived forever but there was really no competition in who was more vain. "Yes, vampires live forever but sirens are known for their vanity. Plus, not all vampires are beautiful. I mean have you seen Dracula? I love Gary Oldman but boy was he creepy." Eli always provided evidence for his points. Yes, that wasn't a great example, but who could beat Gary Oldman?

Was Eli pushed being pushed to write? Well, he kind of was. His fans, his publicist, his publisher, and many other people wanted to see what was new from the great Elijah Jacobs but Eli's muse had been running low since his seventh book. The eighth he somehow managed to scrape out but to him it wasn't as good as the others. Many thought it was his best work yet but Eli despised the piece of "literature". Eli laughed before talking again. "No, everyone's pressuring me. It's a hard job being a world renown writer with hardly any muse. With 8 books out the people always want more. Maybe, I should just disappear for a while get my name out of the circuit and come back in 40 years when I'm forgotten and write under a new pen name. " Eli liked his new decision. It gave him time to think. He'd still write during that time but maybe he could settle down, get married, start a family. Do all of the things he'd wanted but put on hold for his writing career.

Silver had to laugh when Elijah mentioned Dracula. That human fiction character had amused Silver when he had gotten around to see the film. "Well he may just be an exception. However, I recall a human movie entitled Interview with a Vampire which Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise starred in. And I must say those two are few of the human actors who make my race look beautiful and vain." he said with a smile and felt a bit grateful that Elijah was already taking care of what Silver had drawn.

Then he chuckled when he heard Elijah's theory. "Well, that is an idea. However, if writing is what you do, how are you going to fill the time if you decide to wait for forty years to come back and start again with a new name?" Silver asked. He had been walking with humans and creatures alike for a hundred years. And its strange for Silver to listen to someone who wanted to take forty years until he would write again. It seemed like a long time. But not really for Silver. But he liked the changes.

So, Silver had a point, but still sirens were still more vain. "Whatever, I just know my race too well. I mean I'm probably the least vain siren you'll ever meet. Which is saying something." So, Eli's last statement was actually very true. He wasn't very vain. Not to say he'd didn't love looking in the mirror and admiring himself. He was beautiful but he'd rather do other things than sit in front of a mirror admiring his beauty. He really didn't care if other people noticed it.

Eli laughed when Silver asked what he'd do. Eli wasn't even 40 yet so why would he take 40 years off? "Oh, I'd still write I'd probably just not get them published and I don't know maybe settle down start a family. I could also teach still. I like teaching." If it wasn't for Ama... That boy kept filling his thoughts. He needed to get him out. What was he going to do with him? It wasn't like they could fall in love and have kids. They were both men for chrissakes.

Silver had to agree. He had met sirens before and Elijah Jacobs has not been as vain as Silver had seen with the others. "Well I do have to agree with you about being the least vain of the sirens I have met during my travels. Not to mention the half-sirens I have met as well." Silver said as he recalled a few people Silver could remember. Then when Elijah answered that he would still write and teach, all Silver could do was nod and smile. Yet Silver noticed that Elijah was in deep thought. There was something on the other man's head that Silver could find out without the other knowing or just right out ask. In the end, Silver decided to ask. "A pound for your thoughts Elijah?" Silver said with a smile.

Eli got locked in his thoughts a lot. It came with being a writer. A lot came with being a writer. There was all the writing and the thinking. The plotting... Being a writer was actually a pretty hard job. Everyone wanted something from him. He needed a break. Then again all he was going to do was to turn his thoughts to something else probably just as confusing and difficult. "What? Oh, you mean what am I thinking about. Sorry but those thoughts are for my pleasure only." No, these thoughts were Elijah only he wasn't going to share them with someone he'd just met. The last time it got him nowhere. Well, not nowhere he did decided he was going to confront the boy but he wasn't going to tell Silver this. There were things Eli needed to learn to keep to himself.

Silver simply smiled and nodded. He didn't mind not being told what the other was thinking. In reality, Silver could care less because he had only met the other. And asking about what was bothering Elijah made Silver look like a counselor or a psychiatrist. Though he should have took up psychology at some point, he knew he did the right thing of not pursuing said course. It only made Silver think that he would have unnecessary headaches if he did become a doctor. Then who would believe him to be one if he did managed to finish? Silver would forever have the body and features of a nineteen year old young man. And in the long run, he wouldn't even get to practice psychology. "No worries then. I had to ask since you looked like you were in very deep thought. Doctors did say that it was better to tell a stranger rather than someone you know. Less judgment and criticism." he said with a reassuring smile.

Elijah wasn't really a very open person. He liked keeping to himself. Anything he wanted to get out he put in his books. He didn't talk to people. Most of his conversations didn't last very long and were all very simple. People always left with the impression that Eli was simple. That he wasn't very wordy. Then again if you could get him to open up he was very talkative, very wordy. Eli loved words. They made him feel like he could do anything. A few simple words could totally change a person's future.

"Thank you for understanding. I'm not sure about that though. Last time I opened up to someone, I didn't know, my life was threatened. So, I like keeping my thoughts to myself." Okay, so Eli was just wordy with everything. Even if he didn't talk as much he still used lots of words. It was just how he was and nothing was going to change that.

Silver wondered who would even hurt the man? And if they did threaten him, why? But he knew what he should do and where he ought to keep himself. "Like I said, no worries. I won't push if you say you'd rather keep it to yourself. I don't mind at all. Though I do not know why someone would want to harm you, they must have taken your words differently than how you would have meant them to be. And I don't think I can hurt you. Though I am want I am, I haven't been in a fight for the last six decades. So I don't think I can put much of a threatening aura." he said with a smile on his face. Though Silver was still strong, he really had not been in any physical struggle with anyone in a very long while.

Then he smiled at Elijah still, "Well, if you do ever need an ear, you can whisper my name and I'll be there." he politely offered. It was the polite thing to do. And Silver wished he had been given the chance to have offered Aine the same thing before she ran off for some reason. Silver had to sigh at the memory of watching the tears fall from Aine's eyes and her running away to her dorm room.

Elijah wasn't sure why but he wanted to tell Silver what was going on. Then again he didn't. He wanted to keep it to himself. His own little secret. That one other person kinda of knew. "Thanks... Well, I think he was just playing around. I just told him something and he got all curious and for some reason really wanted to know." Eli was learning to shut his lips. To not tell people things. Not that he talked to many people. Plus, it really was an idea for his book. So, he was totally lying to the guy. It was just that, well, he kind of wanted a student/teacher relationship even if he didn't totally know it yet. Eventually he and Ama would come to the realization that they both really liked each other. Even if Ama didn't want to open up to anyone. Somehow, Eli would figure out how to worm his way into the boy's heart. Maybe.
