Sometimes, everything got unbelievably tiring and, above everything, stressful for the faerie. She could barely keep up with her own life, on occasion. And she didn't like the lack of control she had over somethings. Cressida Whitham was not one for letting things just happen, no, not anymore. That part of her was long gone; she liked having control, something that she'd never previously had in her life. Well, she had but it'd been severely limited. Now she had the freedom to actually exercise control over her life, which she liked. Yes, she liked it a lot.
She walked into the staff room with a pile of test papers to mark and roughly... an hour or so to do it in. It wasn't going to be easy, judging by the size of the stack, but she could do it, surely. It probably looked a lot harder than it was actually going to be; she found that happened a lot when it came to things like this. It was just her brain finding something that should have been easy daunting. She could do this, she just had to focus on it. It would have been the easy way out to procrastinate. And Cressida was not one to take the easy way out.

Vivienne liked the place. It was nice. She had ran into a few students so far and they all seemed really nice and fun. She definitely knew she had picked a good place to attempt to settle down after forcing herself to leave her old home. The place was filled with a whole bunch of magical beings and she thought that was cool. She hadn't really met anyone else that was magical besides her dad, and the few people she ran into during the war. This just... really felt different.
She had been unpacking and getting settled and stuff, but that was kind of boring. So she decided to take a walk to learn about the school and where everything was and such. She was stoked about teaching German. She loved the language, actually. Her ex thingy hadn't spoken anything but German. Sure, she knew french, and obviously English. But German was just... sexy.
Viv walked into the teachers lounge wearing an outfit that was exceedingly her. Maybe not something she would wear to teaching a class... oh who was she kidding. She would so where it when teaching a class. Her eyes lit up when she saw someone in the room. She liked meeting people. "Hey! I'm Vivienne! New here! You are?"
Viv asked and greeted her with a slightly hyperactive voice and an outstretched hand. [/blockquote] Outfit xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Clicky!Notes xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx omfg I love her. Tagged xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Cress Song xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Playing God - Paramore

She hadn't even started yet and, already, she was getting bored. Just looking at the stack of papers in her lap made her eyes heavy. The sheer number of them just terrified her. Well, okay, not quite terrified, but close enough. She hadn't signed up for this when she'd become a teacher, though. She knew that this would be at least partially involved, but there was no way she expected it to be so... what was the word. Busy? Tiring? Flustering? All three? Most probably.
Thank God was literally the first thing she thought when a voice cheerily piped through the air. She looked up from the pile of tests in her lap, no longer frowning, and smiled at the owner of the voice. An eccentrically dressed woman, whom Cressida would have presumed to be a student had she not walked right into this room without a second thought (but then, most students did anyway), had held a hand out toward her. It'd be rude to ignore her, and Cressida wasn't a rude person. At least, she hoped she wasn't. She didn't like the idea of it.
She put the papers to one side promising herself to go through them later, and took the girl's hand, smiling brightly. "Hi, Vivienne!" she greeted warmly, shaking her hand. "Welcome to Northvale. I'm Cressida, it's nice to meet you."
Much nicer than going through test papers, anyway. Cressida much preferred talking to someone new. Or talking to anyone, for that matter. So the woman's - Vivienne's - appearance was actually a weird kind of blessing. Maybe God didn't have it in for her, after all.[/blockquote][/blockquote] Outfit: Clicky!Tagged: Viv! Notes: asdfghjkl *flails*Lyrics: Careful by Paramore

Well. At least it seemed like she had run into a friendly person. She shook Cressida's hand and smiled at her while going over to get a glass of water. "Thanks! I love it here already!"
Viv exclaimed as she got her glass of water and then went over to take a seat, choosing to sit cross legged in the chair instead of normally because she knew it wouldn't matter. Within five minutes she would be moving again because she just couldn't stand to sit still for any length of time. She cocked her head to the side and looked at Cressida. "So what do you teach? I'm the new German teacher. I looooove German." Viv told her and giggled slightly. She really did love German. She had a reason for her loving German... but she loved it. Her hands enclosed around the glass of cool liquid as she brought it upward to her mouth to take a small sip. "Ooooh. What race are you?" Vivienne loved asking questions. Basically whatever went through her mind, she said or asked. She almost asked Cressida if she liked to party, but thought maybe she shouldn't ask that. ...that question would come a little later, and Cressida had better say the right answer, or Viv may just not like her anymore. For a moment or two at least. [/blockquote] Outfit xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Clicky!Notes xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx omfg I love her. Northvale did occasionally make a good impression, so the faerie thought. This, here, this was proof of that. Vivienne seemed happy enough to be here, if not, borderline euphoric. Cressida supposed that she would have been, had she not been so shaken by seeing Samson again. What were the odds of that happening, anyway? But, yes. Not the time or the place. New person. Had to focus.
She smiled lightly, nodding. "You're welcome," she said warmly, pushing a blonde wave of her hair behind her ear. "It's a lovely place, once you get past all the drama. Unless you like that sort of thing?" She tilted her head slightly to the side. She wanted to gauge what this woman was really like; maybe there was a friendship here. Hopefully. Cressida liked the idea of having a new friend.
German. That made friendship a whole lot easier! They would be teaching in the same department as each other. "Ah, you'll be seeing a lot of me, then!" she grinned, with a light laugh. "I'm the French Teacher. I kind of grew up in France, so I thought I'd give it a try."
And, although teaching was tiring and stressful from time to time, it was also very rewarding. Cressida loved it. Asking about her race was reasonable, she guessed. It was a perfectly valid question that Vivienne seemed eager to know the answer to. So why keep her fellow teacher waiting? She laughed brightly, crossing one leg over the other. "I'm an Earth Faerie," she answered, lifting one eyebrow in a curious sort of grin. "So's my brother. What... Uh, what're you? If you don't mind my asking."[/blockquote][/blockquote] Outfit: Clicky!Tagged: Viv! Notes: asdfghjkl *flails*Lyrics: Careful by Paramore

Drama? If this place had drama, Viv thought she would get along awesomely here. After all, her very birth caused massive drama. She would fit in well. She hoped at least. "I don't mind drama. I don't think it's my favorite, but I don't mind it."
Viv told Cressida as she took another drink of her water, her fingers overlapping around it as they crossed around the glass. Vivienne almost choked on her drink when Cressida told her she was the French teacher and that she grew up in France! "Oh my Hephastus! I grew up in France too! I speak that fluently, but I lived in Germany for a few years when I was younger, so I caught up on the language while living there." Viv explained to Cressida as she moved so her legs were up and against her chest instead of underneath her. She didn't like staying still! Her head was resting on her knees as her body was hovered over and her arms wrapped around her legs to keep holding onto the glass still. "I'm a fire faery." Vivienne told her, smiling at the thought of another faery. "So if you're a faery and from France and all that, how old are you? Are you anccccient, or just old, or young for us?" Vivienne asked her with a look of pure excitement on her face. Although she believed her fellow teacher's words, Cressida couldn't help but wonder how long it would take before the newbie uncovered some of her own drama. That was what this school was best known for, anyway - drama. It hadn't taken the faerie long at all for her to get some drama tossed her way. This was, in effect, a ticking time bomb. She found it almost comical, actually, that everyone had some form of drama thrown their way within their first week. Who knew. Maybe Vivienne would get hers sooner, maybe later.
Well, what were the odds? Vivienne was raised in France as well. Cressida really should have guessed from her name, really, what with it being quite a French one. But that hardly mattered right now; what mattered was that this was almost spooky. It was amazing, but kind of weird all the same. Still, coincidences like this would happen from time to time. "You were?" the fae queried, smiling widely at her companion. "Small world, I guess!" It seemed that a lot of the teachers here were foreign... but that wasn't important.
She laughed at the question about her age. The way that the words were strung out made Vivienne seem excitable, almost impatient. But that was fine with Cressida; it was't like she intended to keep the fire fae waiting for answers. There were a lot of questions... but that was okay, too. "I guess I'm pretty young for us," she spoke, leaning back in the chair comfortably. "I'm one hundred and eighty five. What about you?" Cressida thought Vivienne to be quite a bit younger than herself, but then, who knew? Looks could be deceiving, so the saying went.

Wow, so Cressida really wasn't that much older than Viv was. That was kinda cool. She kind of saw them getting along pretty well. As long as she was cool and not a lame ass. Then there would be a problem. She laughed and fought the urge to stand up because she was already getting antsy again and looked around the room briefly. "I'm one hundred and sixty two."
Vivienne told Cress with a smile before giving in and standing up. "You're old enough to have fought in the war then. Did you?" Vivienne asked her, wondering if she had ever ran across her before because... she did kinda seem familiar. But... probably not. Viv was starting to get really bored already and how was she supposed to sit still. She had a problem, obviously. "Sorry... I just have to walk around or something. I hate sitting still. Désolé " [/blockquote] Outfit xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Clicky!Notes xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx omfg I love her. The very idea of fighting in the wars made the teacher snicker. She would have been about as helpful on a battlefield as a walrus with no limbs. Besides, she' have been... married by then. Either married, or recovering from that marriage. A marries woman was not expected to fight, not according to Victorian social graces. Besides, Adam would never have let her, even if she'd wanted to fight. But then... the wars seemed preferable over that. "No, I didn't." she said honestly, folding up the hem of her shirt absent-mindedly. "I was married by then."
The way she mentioned marriage was firm, final, left no room for discussion. Because she really, really didn't want to have to lie to a woman she'd never met before. She wouldn't have been able to find it in her. It was better to just leave it at this, before things got messy.
Besides, the younger faerie had now gotten up and started to walk around, which made the woman chuckle. Especially accompanied with her apology, which was unnecessary. Everyone needed to move; it was hard to sit still. Even Cressida found that sometimes. "C'est ne pas rien," she laughed, with a dismissive wave of her hand. "I get it. I don't like being sat still for ages, either." It was just so boring, even for this faerie. She understood if Vivienne just wanted to walk around. That wasn't an issue in the slightest.

She had been married? Wow. Viv didn't see herself getting married now, let alone when she was younger, which Cress must have been, obviously. Even if Cress was a bit older than her. "Wow, you're married? That's cool!"
Viv exclaimed in an excited voice. She hadn't mentioned a husband before, even if they had just met, but Viv was pretty sure she mentioned her brother in passing. That was kind of weird? Or maybe not. Viv didn't know how marriage worked. "Be happy you didn't. The war was horrible. I fought alongside my dad." Viv told her. Vivienne smiled when Cress told her it was okay she wasn't able to sit still It was just something Viv couldn't do. "It's so bad with me. I can't stand staying still at all. I wonder how I'll be able to teach a class." Viv joked with her and smiled even brighter at the French. It just felt... familiar. A good familiar.
