If only. If only what Vivenne was saying was true and applicable to her marriage. Because, well... the relationship she'd been in was literally anything but cool. At least she wasn't married anymore. No, that ship had sailed a long time ago. Thank god. No, actually... thank Samson, No matter how much she hated to admit it she knew that she owed the vampire in a way for that. Even though he wasn't directly involved in the disappearance of her husband... the marriage would have had reasonable grounds to end anyway.
"No... not anymore." the faerie chuckled, slightly awkwardly, rubbing the nape of her neck for want of something better to do. "It ended a long time ago." And not a moment too soon either. Maybe even too late. It was really, really horrible to think the latter, but it was probably true. Looking back, she knew how stupid she'd been, and knew that she had to learn from that now. She had to just get up, move on, and never make the mistake of falling in love with anyone. Because love had only hurt her in the past.
Cressida had figured that the war wouldn't exactly have been pleasant. But to know that this girl had been fighting, along with her father, of all people, kind of made something fall inside of her. It was horrible, and it hurt to know. Which was strange, really, because Cressida had only just met the woman. This was probably one of her greatest weaknesses - forming an emotional connection with those whom she didn't know. "That... doesn't sound fun." she said, mentally cursing herself for not thinking of anything better to say.
She understood the problem of not being able to sit still. It was horrible! She didn't know how she managed to teach a class, but that was probably because she just did it without really thinking about how she appeared to the kids. She just got up and sat down as she pleased; none of the students really seemed to care that much. "I'm sure you'll do just fine, Viv," she laughed lightly, before pausing. "I can call you Viv, right?" It was always better, so Cressida thought, to be safe that sorry. Who knew? Maybe the fire faerie didn't like nicknames.

So she was in a marriage, and now she wasn't. Viv respected that. She thought that if she were to ever get married, then she would make sure not to marry someone she wouldn't want to be with for the rest of her long life, but she didn't know Cress's life and therefore couldn't judge her based on what she knew. The little bit she did know.
Viv laughed at the awkwardness that came from Cress. She didn't mean to make her feel awkward. Even though it was Viv's deepest regret in life, it wasn't something she shy'd away from and she didn't feel bad about telling someone what had happened. It was just... her, she supposed. "Gosh, don't feel awkward. It's alright." She laughed. It was a touchy spot with her sometimes, but only when she thought about it. Just telling someone... it didn't have the same effect as if she had a dream about it and it felt vivid to her. But she moved on with the conversation with Cress. Smiling at the nickname given to her. "Viv is fine as long as I can call you Cress!" Viv told her with a smile and a laugh.

She had to admit that she was a little bit scared of what Vivienne might think, knowing that her marriage dissolved over a century ago. Divorce was so frowned upon back in their day, after all. And she knew that she probably sounded like the oldest person in the world saying something like that, but it was true. But it didn't really seem to affect the fire faerie in any way at all, so it was all okay. She did't seem to be judging her for it, which was a plus. In fact, really, that was all she was scared of. And, even though it wasn't her fault that Adam disappeared, it was nice to know that no one was judging her for considering divorce.
She couldn't help but feel awkward about it, though. That was the thing. Cressida wasn't the best comforter in the world at the best of times. It all seemed to be fine, though, because the woman was laughing about it. It made her feel just a tiny bit more awkward... but it was funny, she guessed. "Right, 'course." she laughed along with her, slightly quietly. It wasn't that she even meant to - it was just that death was one of the few things that actually succeeded in making her feel awkward. But it was getting better. She was getting better. Slowly, but surely.
Her nickname was a common one, used by a lot of people. It was nice to hear beside the long, drawn out "Cressida" that was only used when someone was angry with her. Most often, it was Cress, Cressa or Prim. But Cress would work just fine. She laughed along with her new friend (hopefully), and said "Cress is fine. Call me whatever the hell it is that you want to."

Whatever the hell she wanted to? Cress might end up regretting that one, Viv had a tendency to just say whatever crosses her mind at whatever time she wanted to. That was just how she rolled, duh. She smiled at her none the less. "Alright there, Cressy."
[/b] Viv smiled at her and and kind of maybe started walking around the room a bit before sitting down and grabbing her glass of water. Putting her hand on the bottom and then creating some, or a lot, of heat. It wasn't long before it started to boil. "So tell me about yourself of something."[/b] Viv asked her after her need to do something was temporarily cured.
