Brent always won. If not, then he only ended up sulking for a while until some poor soul gave in to his demands. That was something the man had never been able to grow out of. He smirked proudly, more than happy with his victory, but decided that he should probably focus on Chase right now rather than himself... and on trying to stay afloat now that Chase had wrapped his arms around his neck, which meant he had to adjust to the shift in weight. Brent really didn't like his tail at the moment, it wasn't being particularly helpful.

When Chase leant in to deepen the kiss, the crossbreed responded with a pleased sigh. He sacrificed one arm, using it to trail his fingertips lightly down the fae's side before resting at his hip, pulling him in more tightly. Brent had pretty much reached the stage where he didn't give two shits about anybody's thoughts regarding him and Chase because there was no denying how right this felt.

Chase had only kissed a few people in his life. Those were people that he had to take time to get comfortable around too... but already Chase just thought this felt different. A good kind of different definitely, but different. Before Chase was kind of just kissing the other people because they had kissed him or something. He really wanted this. The fingertips at his own side almost sent shivers down his spine. One of Chase's arms bend so he could card his fingers through Brents hair. Why hadn't they done this earlier?

Brent half regretted pushing Chase away the first time he'd kissed him, back in the theatre hall. More than anything, he was surprised he'd had the willpower to do that because he certainly didn't right now. There was the slight issue of Brent's tail, which still made him feel kind of weird and uncomfortable. The water wasn't helping him feel any better either.

He broke the kiss but didn't let go of Chase, still remaining as close to him as possible. Brent moved his head so he could whisper into the fae's ear, "We should head back now, don't you think?" As he spoke ever so softly, his warm breath no more than a tickle, Brent delicately traced a random pattern across the smooth skin of Chase's back, using his fingers that had been gripping his side before. You could say that it was kind of like he was playing a piano with the way his fingers were tapping to a sort of rhythm too. It was a force of habit, ish.

Chase almost whined when Brent pulled away from the kiss, because he didn't want to stop, duh. But... they were kind of in the water and such. Chase shivered when Brent whispered into his ear, because fuck that was hot. Then his hands were tapping on his back and it actually kind of cool. Chase smiled. He had been doing a lot of smiling around Brent. Surprising since he normally didn't smile at all. Brent wanted to... head back? Could Chase come with him? He was fairly certain he didn't want to be alone after that. If they just... separated, then who's to say if Chase would ever seen Brent again. Even though he was a teacher. He could always quit, right? Right. "Do we have to go back..."

Brent smirked, happy that he'd managed to make Chase shiver. He almost laughed when he noticed the whine in his voice. Brent wasn't too bothered with what they did next, he just wanted his legs back. He wouldn't mind hanging around here a little longer since Chase was skipping class an all. "Whatever. I've just had enough of my tail for now." Brent was itching to get out of the water but he couldn't bring himself to let go of Chase yet.

Chase could handle that. Anywhere as long as Brent got rid of his tail. That would just mean getting out of the water. Chase could handle that. He ust had to... get out of Brent's arms. He could handle that too. Definitely. Yep. Chase smiled again at gave Brent a quick kiss before pulling away from him and jumping up on shore. He was kind of chilled from the water anyways. Now he'd have to put his clothes on over his wet boxers. That'd be fun, and he wore pink jeans too. It would totally be noticeable. Chase stood up and grabbed his clothes, quickly dressed himself before grabbing his drumsticks again and putting them in his back pocket and looking at Brent. "I still don't get why you don't like your tail though."

To be honest, Brent didn't have a clue what exactly going on between him and Chase. He didn't want to ask because he felt awkward about it and he wasn't entirely sure what he wanted to become of this... whatever they had. Brent thought the best thing to do would just be to wait and see what happened instead of doing the clever thing of asking because it was sort of scary as well as intelligent.

Taking his time, Brent drifted towards the edge of the springs and watched his friend dress out of the corner of his eye. Quietly, the man snickered at how unfortunate Chase's choice of clothing was. Then Brent reached the edge of the water and had to rely on his puny arms to haul himself out of the it. He managed to get out, it just meant he'd flopped onto the ground in a very fish-like manner and ended up faceplanting a mixture of grass and dirt. Brent let out a pitiful sob. "It's inconvenient."

Chase tried his hardest not to laugh at Brent as he tried to come out of the water. He really did. But he was fairly sure a laugh slipped out unintentionally. Chase went over to fishy Brent and put his hands underneath his armpits to try to sit Brent up. "I can see that, I guess."

Brent's eyes narrowed. This was not funny. It was soul-crushingly embarrassing. He didn't bother pushing Chase away when he helped him to sit up even though it was very tempting to do so. Brent was beginning to learn that some things actually turned out to be easier tasks to complete when he allowed others to help him out with them. It had only taken, what, nearly half a century for that to register in his mind? And Brent wasn't comfortable with it yet either; that would probably take another century.

He very nearly batted Chase's hands away when the boy wiped the dirt off his face but solemnly allowed him to anyway. Brent was seriously getting to the stage in which he could be considered a big, fat sulk by this point. "Just gotta dry off, then it'll go." he growled, scowling down at his tail.

If Chase was on the outside feeling the emotions of two others that were in the situation Brent and him were in at the moment, then he would have wondered why the person in Chase's position was still there. Brent's emotions turned all grumpy and Chase just sighed. It was a wonder he liked this man, if he was honest. But he did, and there was no going back now. Not even if he wanted to. Chase sat cross legged next to the taily Brent and leaned forward to kiss him on the cheek. "Relax a bit. It'll be gone soon. Then you won't need my help."
