As a matter of fact, it did make Brent feel weird. Not so much in an uncomfortable way but more like how it was strangely cool and fascinating that Chase was capable of this. Brent was kind of over-protective when it came to his mind because, well, it was his and he wanted to keep his private thoughts to himself. With Chase, he kind of felt more relaxed about him being able to feel his emotions because he'd already grown to trust him.

"Yeah, sort of? A good weird." Brent nodded, "And being able to read minds sounds... frightening." He wasn't sure that 'frightening' had been the exact word he was looking for there but it would do. Brent didn't feel all too comfortable with the idea.

Chase was glad Brent didn't feel weird about it. Sometimes Chase felt weird about it and he didn't even have to tell anyone he could fell the emotions. It just felt like sometimes he was intruding on people. He wouldn't like it if someone could feel his emotions. "I'm supposed to be able to do a lot of things with my powers. I just don't know everything yet."

[/b] Chase told him. The reading minds thing... he thought it'd be cool, but he wasn't positive that he would use it. "I probably won't even use half of the powers I could use. Maybe I'll use the emotion manipulation when I get better at it, but I'm not sure."[/b] Chase could sort of do that right now, but the person had to be willing and Chase had to be feeling the emotion and Chase just knew there were a lot of ifs for it to work properly. Chase was still holding onto Brent's hand, and it kind of made him wonder what was going on between the two of them. But... Chase was fairly sure he didn't want to ask.

Soul faerie powers were definitely more interesting than what Brent could do. Well, kind of, because fire was fire and Brent felt like he'd sold his soul to it or something. He kind of had by being half fire fae, hadn't he?

He figured that soul powers would be difficult to use because he imagined that he'd have no idea what to do if he had them. Well, Brent reckoned he'd probably only use them negatively if he was able to so it was probably a good idea that he didn't have them. "Maybe one day when you're more experienced with your powers you could become, like, an evil mastermind." Brent suggested, trying not to laugh. The image of Chase as an evil mastermind was hilarious.

Chase laughed at Brent's comment. An evil mastermind? Chase? He didn't think that was possible what so ever. It just... didn't exactly seem likely. Chase loved trying to mess with his powers, but didn't like to use them unless he felt like he had to. He wanted to make sure people were okay with him using his powers before he used them too much. If he didn't think someone would like it, then he wouldn't use it unless he had asked. That's just how Chase worked. Otherwise, he'd feel bad. "Yeah. Let's see how that one works out."

The smile from the laughter was still on his face as he looked at Brent fondly. He wasn't sure how he had ended up in a situation like this one... but it was worth it. Anything was worth the chance for Chase to be close to someone.

"Or maybe I'm wrong. 'Cause I think you look way too innocent to be an evil mastermind." Brent smirked, correcting himself. He was more like the evil mastermind out of the two of them. Minus the 'mind' bit because that would mean he'd have to be all brainy and that didn't sound too appealing to Brent. So he could just be the evil master... of the universe. That was going to happen. Yup, any day now. And Chase could be his... his Chase. Because he'd somehow end up belonging to Brent if he was the evil master of the universe. Brent was just going to stop thinking now because he had no idea where he was supposed to be going with this.

Chase pouted when Brent called him too innocent. He wasn't that innocent. He had... done... not innocent things before! Chase wasn't entirely sure what those things would be, but he had done them! Definitely! "I'm not innocent! I'm... mean. And tough."

[/b] Chase told him, but couldn't get the pout off his face so he couldn't back his toughness up what so ever. Chase probably couldn't do that even if he could get the pout off his face. Chase just... wasn't capable. He didn't think he could be mean or evil or even act that way because he felt like the world deserved some good.

This was incredibly amusing for Brent. He couldn't help but laugh as Chase claimed that he was 'mean' and 'tough'. Oh god, that would just be wrong. Chase was never allowed to be like that in Brent's mind, because that was him. He was totally mean and tough. Except he was less tough and more mean. Or... not tough at all. And far more mean than necessary during certain situations.

Still smirking, he brought his face close to Chase's and whispered, "Prove it."

One minute Chase was laughing and smiling, then Brent's face just got... way too close. Chase's smile faded. He was supposed to prove he was tough... wouldn't this work? Chase wanted this anyways. He was never going to know if he didn't try. Plus... they had technically already kissed once, right? Chase's eyes flashed down to Brent's lips then back up to his eyes. He might end up regretting this, but Brent was just too close. "Will this prove it?"

Perhaps the object of invading Chase's personal space like that had been part of Brent's plan to get the guy to kiss him, even if he hadn't been one hundred percent aware of that plan until now - it had been lurking there in the back of his mind for a little while, he thought. It was a good plan, he'd decided. A successful one too. Brent smiled into the kiss before tilting his head a fraction to murmur against Chase's lips, "Hmm, I'm not too sure."

Chase knew that as soon as he felt Brent's smile against his lips that he had won. He couldn't help but smile back immediately. It was a big accomplishment! When Brent muttered against them as well... it just made Chase almost laugh. He let go of the hand he was stilling holding of Brent's and wrapped both of his arms around Brent's neck. "Okay. Fine. You win."

[/b] Chase gave in, muttering back into their kiss. Chase was perfectly fine with being innocent if it meant he got to kiss Brent. Chase thought Brent would never give in. Deciding that he didn't accomplish this for nothing, Chase leaned in more to deepen their kiss. He might have been dreaming of this for awhile... now that it came true, he wanted it.
