Hey, my name is... Tobias Eliot Redferne
But most call me... Toby(-Dick)
If you want to, you can label me...heterosexual/bisexual/homosexual/pansexual/asexual
I've been on this earth for... 18
Which means I was born... 19th September
I'm a... student/teacher/local
And only a... 5th year
My eyes are...mysteriousblue
And my hair is... brown
One could say... Tobias cares a lot (a bit too much) about his appearance, but the biggest problem is that his idea of “looking good” is rather different from others’—his idea of nice clothes is anything that’s obnoxious and brightly-coloured, possibly neon, and for some reason he really enjoys wearing those. However, since he doesn’t want to become an actual laughingstock or anything, and because he also recognises that people think that his usual dress sense is kind of stupid, he usually just wears black, white, or grey. He’ll only go out in his weirdly-coloured t-shirts if he’s feeling either really comfortable or really “fuck the world and people’s opinions” that day, but then again, if he’s actually feeling that way, he usually won’t even bother to get dressed and will instead wander around naked.
He’s of average height and is reasonably fit (but only because he’s so vain that he wants to look good; otherwise he’d just be a scrawny brat who depended on magic to do everything for him), and has a slight obsession with metal (because it’s so useful and easy to transfigure).
I'm normally seen wearing... anything comfortable and easy to move around in. Most of the time you’ll catch him in grayscale colours, but if you’re really lucky you might catch him in either his ridiculous, neon clothing or if you’re even luckier, nothing at all. He always wears the most ridiculously-coloured shoes, though.
And I supposedly look like... Jared Leto
All round, I'm... If anything, Tobias is the most competitive person you’ll ever meet—and he’ll be really immature about it, too. Being born to his family left him with a serious “I must be better than everyone else”-complex, which is annoying on good days and simply ‘I’m-going-to-tear-my-hair-out-if-you-don’t-stop’ on normal ones. But, well, that’s the price of hanging out near Tobias, and he really just expects you to deal with it—or just go, because he doesn’t need you around, anyway, because he knows that he’s better than you could possibly imagine.
No one could compare to him, because he’s simply that much better. He isn’t at all a kind person, though; no one in their right minds would call him kind, or helpful, or even semi-decent. He’s the most self-centered person ever, and the only reason why he would stop caring about himself would be because someone from his family needs his help or something like that. The world revolves around Tobias, and that’s the way he likes it. And if he does try to tone down his general dickishness around someone, that’s because he wants something from them. But then again, Tobias rarely wants things from other people.
But Tobias is more than that; he’s a whirlwind of contradictions. Despite being sexist in the purest sense of “I can’t believe a girl could beat me!”, he loves his sisters much more than his brothers and he particularly adores his youngest sister Elodie. He’s the very definition of the overprotective older brother, but at the same times he likes it when Aria or Elodie manage to do things by themselves (like beat up a sleazy loser trying to hit on them, for example). And he craves the attention, approval and acknowledgement of his elder brothers, even though he has this huge complex about being too good to care about whatever they think of him. He loves fighting, but he hates hurting people he cares about—but they’re few and far between, although Tobias cares more about the people whom he loves more than anything. And Tobias—well.
Tobias is a dick.
I'm in love with... family, being better than others (especially when they don’t expect me to be), proving myself, being able to do powerful magic, fighting (which is surprisingly fun)
Though I detest... people in general (family is an exception), doing things that other people tell me to do, listening to my brothers/sisters nag, people thinking they’re better than me, people actually being better than me
But my best assets are... magical strength and being good-looking
However my worst... are immaturity, prejudice towards other people and anger issues (a whole lot of them)
And I dream of... being more powerful a sorcerer than Liam, although that dream’s nearly going to be reality
My life story... Some things, Tobias just wants to forget.
But then again, no one really has it that easy, right? Because as if the constant beatings and the never-ending “you’re not good enough”s didn’t make his life enough of a hell when he was living through it?—he still dreams of it every night. And when he dreams, he dreams of his older brothers getting tortured by their parents; he dreams of his parents punishing his younger siblings for spells gone wrong and for not being powerful enough; he dreams of himself being forced to fight and maintain his control lest he die at the hand of his very own father. And, well, who wouldn’t want to forget that?
And, well, let’s not even mention how his older brothers had gone off and killed James and Amelia without even telling Tobias about it beforehand, not even letting him join in on getting revenge. Just because they were older didn’t mean that they had the right to deprive Tobias of crap like that; and anyway, screw it. It was enough to say that his childhood—his completely shit childhood had totally managed to fuck up his entire life, and that he was never going to get over it, anyway.
Tobias knows he won’t forget, though. He knows that no matter how many times he tries to spell away the scars, they won’t disappear; he knows that no matter how much he wants the memories to go, they won’t fade—unless he gets Alzheimer’s or something, which is just a sad, sad idea. But he also knows that he can learn from them (he’s never going to just lay back and let someone treat him like he’s nothing more than the dirt on the bottom of their shoe ever again) and that he will learn from them; he will become stronger and that will be his revenge—the best revenge.

Here's a little sample...Ciel enjoyed nights alone, where he could stare up at heaven and feel like he was at home again. Even though he very much chose to fall, he still missed the place—who wouldn’t? It was lovely—and sometimes wished that he could go back. As a Guardian, he would be able to carry out his duties quite easily on Earth, but it would be significantly harder to find his mortal if they were not from Alderford, and on Earth… well, he had to eat, and drink, and do ridiculous things like getting himself involved in a brothers’ fight. It was rather ridiculous, yes, but Earth had its beauties, too.
Things like art, and nature, and humans, existed on Earth. Ciel didn’t have to bother about how the other people on Earth saw him, as most of them didn’t even know that he was a Guardian. They thought that he was an ordinary angel, which was perfectly fine with him. And on Earth, there was a lot of hope. Sin was rampant, but there was so much hope all around and it was beautiful. People hoped for numerous things—hoped for love, for good grades, for a new shade of lipstick to come out and things like that. Hope was… pure faith—pure faith that something might happen, and that was what was so beautiful about the place; faith, bursting out of the seams and decorating the entire area with a wonderful atmosphere that no Guardian would be able to deny.
Sometimes he hoped that he’d meet his mortal soon, and that they’d be wonderful friends. There had been stories in Heaven—stories of Guardians and mortals who had such a deep connection that they fell in love, because they completed one another, and both lived happily ever after forever. It sounded perfect.
Of course, though, that was just Ciel being ridiculous. Sighing, he tore his eyes away from the heavens, and went inside.
