Music filled the air in the bar, the air that was thick with hundreds of different scents. Sweat, alcohol, smoke, drugs, lust, happiness, the smell of people trying to get laid, the smell of people wanting to get laid, a light smell of aggression and vomit. The Gateway. It was a nice looking place, full of young people and the smell, once you’ve spent more than a good hundred years in fouler places, the smell here was easy to ignore.
At the bar, with a glass of blood-laced whiskey in one of his fingerless glove covered hands Gabriel Doran sat, with a smile of amusement on the corner of his lips. He hadn’t been in town very long, just a few days, enough to acquire himself a house and take a look around the town. Northvale was a very interesting place, the only place he had been so far where you didn’t have to hide what race you were. He also found it very amusing to see how quickly everything changed following the signing of the peace treaty, the thought that caused the smile on his lips, only three years ago all the races were at each other’s throats but now they laughed, drank and fucked each other as if it never happened. Fair enough, this vampire didn’t really care either way, he neither favoured nor disliked any particular race including his own, so he didn’t really give a shit who screwed who or if the younger generations of the supernatural races were now forming close friendships with one and another, but he just found the world funny, no, this town funny. It made him wonder, how quickly could they change again?
Gabriel chuckled lightly as he downed the rest of his whiskey “Another” he ordered, knowing the bar tender would catch the Irish purr to his voice even though he didn’t raise it any louder than as if he were talking to someone right beside him. A moment later, he had a fresh glass of the drink in front of him, he lightly twirled the glass between his thumb and fore finger for a moment, watching the dark amber liquid tinged with scarlet spin in the glass. The blood was human, it always was, donated, cold, taking a sip he could tell that, like in the glass before, the blood in his drink was about two days old. It tasted fine but it was a dim, disappointing, reflection of the taste of warm blood straight from the vain. The cold blood in his drink didn’t half excite him as much as fresh, life filled blood straight from the source, but ah well, it would suffice.

Kalypso had only just arrived in town and wanted to know the best party spot. She found a couple teenagers and asked them. They told her The Gateway, didn't sound too exciting but would have to suffice. She walked into the bar not knowing what to expect. She looked around. Not too shabby. I guess it'll have to do. She took a big whiff of the aromas around her, blood lots of blood alcohol, lust. Things she had a lot of experience with. Then she caught onto a familiar scent. Something from her past. She breathed in again, Gabriel. She laughed, What would Gabe be doing in a town like this? she asked herself. I guess I'm just going to have to find out.
She walked over to the other vampire. "Well, well, well, if it isn't Gabriel Doran. I haven't seen you since the group spit up.She sat down next to the him."I'll have what he's having."She said noticing the brown liquid with the swirls of red."So what are you doing here?"

The familiar scent was accompanied by an equally as familiar voice. Gabriel looked up from his drink as she sat down, fucking hell, was everyone coming to the same town? He had come to Northvale after he caught word Samson Corvus was here, then he arrived and stumbled across not only Corvus but also Aaisha and now, Kalypso was here also? Then again, despite it all he wasn’t going to complain about the matter, the lot of them had shared some fun times together, very fun. A smirk tugged at his lips as he looked into the female’s dark chocolate eyes “Kalypso. It has been a while, how have you been?” He asked.
“I heard Corvus had settled here and thought I’d pay a visit to the old git. What about you?” For some reason, he had a suspicion she was in town for the very same reason as he and Aaisha was. Wasn’t Corvus a popular vampire? Gabriel laughed internally. It was a shame Samson had seemed to changed and become tamer. Gabriel had smelt that the fella still had personality but he didn’t kill anymore (which was fair enough) and unlike before he had control, a heart again. But the vampire Samson had been before was much more…impressive? Dangerous? Reckless? Fun? Just…more, so Gabriel had been slightly disappointed upon meeting his friend again. The Irishman wondered if Kalypso had changed much, he sniffed; it didn’t appear to be the case. Much like Aaisha, she seemed like the same female he once knew.

As Kalypso finished her drink she ordered another. I've been wonderful, Gabe, you know me can't not be happy." She took a long drink, reminiscing. When Gabe told her why he was here she almost spit out her drink."Sammy's here too. That makes three of us out of the old group. I was just passing through heard there was a town filled with, uh, mythical creatures. So thought I'd check it out. Didn't think I would run into anyone familiar though." Kalypso looked Gabriel up and down, trying to see if anything was different. Nothing different still seemed like the same old Gabe. Kind and approachable in his look, but really a evil almost heartless killer. "So how is old Sammy?"
