*The Official Law of the Supernatural
Since the signing of the the Peace Treaty the Council decrees...

The Laws of Magic
[li]Magic can not get exposed to the general population of humans. Exceptions are made for individuals seeing as it's not illegal to marry and have children with an ordinary human but if a sorcerer puts the secrecy of sorcerers at risk then they will be dealt with in whatever way The Council sees fit.
All humans that know of our sorcerer world must take the Iusiurandum Occulti - an oath of secrecy.
[/li][li]Even magic has limitations. It is not possible to cheat death in anyway, the dead cannot be brought back to life no matter how hard one tries.
[/li][li]Magic to do with time is very strict. You can only freeze a person, not time itself. You also can't reverse or fast forward time.
[/li][li]Ever since the peace treaty was signed, the use of forbidden magic will be punished as severely as the magic you used. Which, in most cases is death. When it comes to forbidden spells and potions, it's an eye for an eye unless The Council say otherwise. All those accused of forbidden magic will be given a fair trial at which a Representative of the family of the victim will be present and have a vote in the verdict.
[/li][li]All sorcerer students attending Northvale Academy from their 1st to 3rd year must be taught Charms, Transfiguration and Potions and once they enter their 4th year must be also be taught Curses & Hexes which will involve classes on some basic combat skills and the Laws of Magic.
[/li][li]Like all the other races, Northvale Academy must always have a Representative of our race. Currently, the acting Representative at the academy is Liam Redferne.

The Faery Law
[li]It is forbidden for a faerie to use their powers to harm a human or someone of lesser ability unless the circumstances are dire. An example of this kind of circumstance is if death will result from another recklessly using abilities. Anyone caught using their powers with an intent to harm will have their powers magically bound, from any length of time from a few days to a year, depending on the level of recklessness displayed by the faerie. A repeat offence will be punished by either the indefinite binding of powers or death at the hands of The Council. Of course, a certain level of leniency will be shown when dealing with students at the academy, as they are still learning to control their powers.
[/li][li]Special abilities are, as the name implies, special. Things like air cutters and temperature control may not be used spitefully, although this law is negotiable under certain circumstances. Failure to adhere will result in the binding of powers for up to six months.
[/li][li]Faeries may not reveal their powers to humans if they have even the slightest doubt that the human will not reveal their existence to others. If the human shares the secret that they have been entrusted with, it will result in the death of both human and faerie.
[/li][li]All faeries who are not in a position to be taught how to control their powers by their parent(s) must attend Northvale Academy to learn how to do so.
[/li][li]Like all the other races, Northvale Academy must always have a Representative of our race. Currently, the acting Representatives at the academy are Alejandro Gaia - on trial, open, open, open and open.

The Boreai Code
[li]It is forbidden for a borea to use their powers to harm a human or someone of lesser ability unless the circumstances are dire. An example of this kind of circumstance is if death will result from another recklessly using abilities. Anyone caught using their powers with an intent to harm will have their powers magically bound, from any length of time from a few days to a year, depending on the level of recklessness displayed by the borea. A repeat offence will be punished by either the indefinite binding of powers or death at the hands of The Council. Of course, a certain level of leniency will be shown when dealing with students at the academy, as they are still learning to control their powers.
[/li][li]Special abilities are, as the name implies, special. Things like invisibility and freezing may not be used spitefully, although this law is negotiable under certain circumstances. Failure to adhere will result in the binding of powers for up to six months.
[/li][li]Boreai may not reveal their powers to humans if they have even the slightest doubt that the human will not reveal their existence to others. If the human shares the secret that they have been entrusted with, it will result in the death of both human and borea.
[/li][li]All boreai who are not in a position to be taught how to control their powers by their parent(s) must attend Northvale Academy to learn how to do so.
[/li][li]Like all the other races, Northvale Academy must always have a Representative of our race. Currently, the acting Representatives at the academy are open, open, open, open and Leyla Sevgici..

The Vampire Ruling
[li] It is illegal to drink the blood of other supernatural races unless granted permission. If you are caught doing so and judged guilty by the Council it will result in your fangs being taken from you. The Carnificis will be ordered to remove the vampire's fangs by any means necessary in front of the Council. If the offense is then repeated after the removal of their fangs they will be sentenced to death.
[/li][li] Vampires are forbidden to turn anyone under the age of 16. If you are caught doing so and judged guilty by the Council it will result in your fangs being taken from you. The Carnificis will be ordered to remove the vampire's fangs by any means necessary in front of the Council. If the offense is then repeated after the removal of their fangs they will be sentenced to death.
[/li][li] If you turn someone you must stay with them long enough to teach them the supernatural laws, how to control their instincts, new superhuman abilities and bloodlust. If not, the new vampires must be sent to Northvale Academy so that they will receive necessary instruction.
[/li][li] Any behavior that threatens exposure of the supernatural races is not allowed. If the Council feels you are be to careless their Enforcers will be deployed to put an end to your behavior and bring you forward to explain your actions to the Council.
[/li][li] The Council understands that sometimes, mistakes are made and death may occur when feeding. There is some leniency to this and the Council through their Enforcers being able to cover up small deaths. However, if it's clear that the act was deliberate or mass murder is occurring the Enforcers will bring you before the Council. If proved guilty you will be sentenced to death in front of the Council by the hands of the Carnificis.
[/li][li] Vampires are only permitted to change the maximum of four individuals into vampires. If more are made, as punishment the Council will order the death of the new vampires.
[/li][li]Like all the other races, Northvale Academy must always have a Representative of our race. Currently, the acting Representative at the academy is Themis Sicarus.

The Werewolf Pact
[li] Within packs, an Alpha's word is law. Alphas can either inherit their position from their former Alpha parents when they die or, they can challenge their parents for the position. Other werewolves within the pack unrelated or not may also challenge the Alpha. Werewolves take challenges seriously even between family members. They do not give leniency to their parents, siblings, children, any other relatives or friends. In challenges, werewolves fight until either one wolf submits or is killed. If the Alpha submits or is killed, they will be stripped of their position and the challenger will become the new Alpha.
[/li][li]Werewolves are forbidden to shift in front of humans outside of Northvale. To do so is risking the exposure of the supernatural races - something of which the Council takes very seriously and it will result in harsh punishment.
[/li][li] It is forbidden for one wolf to kill another unless it's part of an individual pack's hierarchy because the Council understands that werewolves are known to kill members of their pack to gain higher position. If the other members of the pack disagree with the killings, they may act as they wish. If things go too far and the Council feels a pack's feud is getting too out of hand then they will intervene and their word on the matter will be final.
[/li][li] To take another wolf's mate is taken very seriously. When two wolves become mated they are mated for life. It is a bond that is very strong - they become two halves of one whole- and in some cases this bond isn't even broken through the death of one of half. Therefore, to take another's mate in anyway will result in the Council allowing the offended wolf to do what they will with the offending wolf.
[/li][li] Werewolves may only turn four individuals into Werewolves per year. To turn any more will result in the Council sentencing the newly made Werewolves to death.
[/li][li] New werewolves become a member of their maker's pack (if their maker has a pack) but it is not uncommon for a werewolf to be rejected by the pack or their maker.
[/li][li] All new werewolves must stay with their maker in order to learn the supernatural laws, how to control their wolf and basic hunting skills. If the new werewolf is rejected by their maker or their makers pack, they must be sent to Northvale Academy to receive proper instruction.
[/li][li] Lone wolves must respect the territory of other wolves, especially packs. If not, then they must understand that their disrespect is likely not to be tolerated.
[/li][li]Like all the other races, Northvale Academy must always have a Representative of our race. Currently, the acting Representative at the academy is open.

The Siren Enactment
[li]Sirens must not reveal their tails to humans. This also means they cannot shift near water where humans often visit. To reveal the race results in amputation of the tail.
[/li][li]Sirens must never use their singing voice in order to persuade a person to do things they are against. To do so would result in having their tongue removed - effectively destroying their ability to sing.
[/li][li]If a Siren is to fall in love with a human and tells of the supernatural, the human's discresion is their responsibility. If said human then goes on to tell others of the superntural world then it will result in death of both human and siren.
[/li][li]All Siren parents must teach their children not to sing around other races by the time they are five. This is to avoid children enchanting others and making them fulfill their every whim.
[/li][li]A being with a quarter or more Siren blood must still be trained to control their voice as it still has the potential to enchant.
[/li][li]All teenage Siren unable to be effectively taught by their parent or guardian must be sent to Northvale Academy.
[/li][li]Like all the other races, Northvale Academy must always have a Representative of our race. Currently, the acting Representative at the academy is Rigby O'Gready.

To keep the law...
The Enforcers
'The Seven' act as the United Kindgom's supernatural law enforcers. They are the ones who will be sent out to deal with suspicious behavior, any riots or reported crimes. They will be sent to bring them before the UK Council- located in Northvale- and if the person in question is too violent, volatile they will force you to do so. It's in their power to kill people if they are engaged in battle and have no choice.
They were chosen out of 30 candidates three years ago when the war ended. They were put through a extensive training process in order to be chosen for their positions and once chosen, they trained together for three years in a compound of which they all still live in together before they were made official once the peace treaty was signed.
All enforcers dress when on duty dress completely in black. They are allowed to carry weapons and through the Council even have clearance to do so with the human government as long as they are subtle. When on duty outside of Northvale they are like shadows. Never heard or seen. They always cover their tracks so that the human world remains oblivious to the supernatural.
Severe punishments will be dealt out by...
The Carnificis
The word 'carnificis' translates from Latin to English 'executioner' and that is exactly what he is. He has no other name, not anymore because he gave up all former title, name, commitments and everything when he accepted this position. He is merely tool the Council uses in order to deal out their punishment whether it be the removal of a vampires' fangs, the severing of a siren's tongue, the skinning of a werewolf or plucking of a faerie's wings. He does it without question, hesitation or remorse. He is completely loyal to the Council.
