**General Information
Sirens are supposedly mythical creatures that possess an almost unnatural beauty. This makes them, invariably, rather vain. Each Siren has vanity almost hard-wired into their DNA, and cannot often pass a mirror or any other reflective surfaces without stopping to look at themselves first. However, they are also gentle, peaceful creatures unless hunting or threatened. This is part of the reason that Sirens avoided fighting in the war, and waited until it was over to join the Council.
Sirens also have outstanding musical capabilities, each possessing a singing voice that some could describe as 'hypnotic'. In some stories, Sirens are depicted as evil, although beautiful, creatures that lure men to their deaths using this capability. However, this was a malicious rumor spread by those who had no prior knowledge of their existence before sharing such stories. On contact with water, a Siren's legs will transform into a beautiful tail, which they obviously use to swim. This is also where the legend of Merpeople came from - except that they aren't really a legend at all.
Sirens age at 10 years per century, meaning that they could live to be 1000-1250 years old. They are one of the three longest-living races, behind Faeries and Vampires. Oh, and one more thing. Contrary to popular belief, this race is not exclusively female, although it is rare for a Siren to be male.
Sirens are not the easiest of races to kill. Due to their singing ability they can often persuade the person not to kill them. Though, when in human form they can be killed much like any other human. In their Siren form, they are harder to kill due to their strength.

[li]Sirens must not reveal their tails to humans. This also means they cannot shift near water where humans often visit. To reveal the race results in amputation of the tail.
[/li][li]Sirens must never use their singing voice in order to persuade a person to do things they are against. To do so would result in having their tongue removed - effectively destroying their ability to sing.
[/li][li]If a Siren is to fall in love with a human and tells of the supernatural, the human's discresion is their responsibility. If said human then goes on to tell others of the superntural world then it will result in death of both human and siren.
[/li][li]All Siren parents must teach their children not to sing around other races by the time they are five. This is to avoid children enchanting others and making them fulfill their every whim.
[/li][li]A being with a quarter or more Siren blood must still be trained to control their voice as it still has the potential to enchant.
[/li][li]All teenage Siren unable to be effectively taught by their parent or guardian must be sent to Northvale Academy.
[/li][li]Like all the other races, Northvale Academy must always have a Representative of our race. Currently, the acting Representative at the academy is Rigby O'Gready.

**Their Powers
Speed: Starting speed is 10 kmph, increasing by 1 kmph with every point. Max 30 kmph (i.e. 30 points)
Physical Strength: The strength system for a Siren is the same as that of a faerie. Each point is about 1/2 of the vampire or werewolf equivalent. If a Siren has more strength points than another Siren, they are stronger, simple as. Max. 20 points.
Stamina: 0-2: Can run/swim at full speed for 30 mins
3-6: Can run/swim for an hour
7-11: Can run/swim at full speed for 2 hrs
12-19: Can run/swim at full speed 3 hrs
20 Max.: Can run/swim at full speed for 4 hrs
Shift Control: This covers the amount of a time a Siren is able to retain their human form on contact with water. The more points a Siren has under this category, the longer they are able to delay the growth of their tail. This is, as some find, a useful area to have points under.
0-5 pts - Will instantly grow a tail on contact with water
6-10 pts - Will grow a tail if in contact with water for longer than 5 seconds.
11-15 pts - Will grow a tail if in contact with water for longer than 10 seconds.
16-20 pts - Will grow a tail if in contact with water for longer than 15 seconds. Has some control over when they shift at some point during this 15 second grace period.
21-25 pts (max.) - Will grow a tail if in contact with water for longer than 20 seconds. Has control over when they shift at some point during this 20 second grace period.
Voice Control - This is merely in place so that the hypnotic tones of a Siren's singing voice will not entrance everyone, and so that a Siren can sing whenever they please without worrying over who will be hypnotized this time.
0-5 pts - Cannot sing without entrancing at least one person, although they have some control over who this is.
6-10 pts - Can sing for a minute without entrancing anyone.
11-15 pts - Can sing a complete song without entrancing anyone.
16-20 pts - Can sing five complete songs without entrancing anyone.
21-25 pts (max.) - Can sing for as song as they please without entrancing anyone, unless of course they are trying to.
