Zero. Seven. Seven. Six. Four.
The faerie's hand shook nervously as she punched in the number. She couldn't believe it. She just couldn't believe that she was going to do this. Words could not express the several emotions flowing through her at that moment. Fear. Anxiety. Hope? There were just so many, a multitude of emotions that built up, and blended into one huge emotion that made her breaths slightly shallow. Although her face remained completely stoic, almost emotionless, there was a tidal wave riding through her body. And she knew hat it just wouldn't go away until she did this.
Three. Six. Five.
She had to tell her. The teen was sick and tired of keeping this to herself, she had to tell her. She knew that, if she didn't... she would forever wish that she had. It was just, well. Philophobia had been one huge problem for her. Well, maybe not philophobia. But a fear of abandonment, a fear of rejection... that was what raged through her system. The only way to overcome a fear, though, was to face it. If it didn't go well, then it didn't go well. It wasn't meant to be. And that was fine. She just... she had to tell her, she just had to.
Two. Eight. Nine.
That was it. The last numbers were pressed. The number had been entered. All she had to do now was press that green button, and it would all start. It took her a few moments, though, before she actually mustered up the courage to press that button. And, even as she did, she shivered in anticipation, in dread, in hope. Maybe this would go just as she'd hoped. Only time would tell.
She sighed shakily, pressing the phone to her ear. The second she heard the little click on the other end of the line, the click that meant that the phone had been answered, she began to speak. "Pan. Can... can you come to my dorm? We need to talk." she said, almost nervously, before calming her voice some. "I have... something I need to say to you. Please hurry." And, with that, she hung up. All she had to do now was wait. Wait for the biggest event of her life to occur.

The wait for her friend was agonizing. She couldn't even stay sat down, like she had been before she made the call. Now that she knew her friend was coming, she couldn't relax. This would either make her or break her. She hoped it was the former, even though she knew that, with her luck, it wouldn't be. She knew that Pan wouldn't feel the same as she did, and so didn't want to get her hopes up. But she couldn't help but pray that her friend would understand. Or humor her. Or both. Because this was serious business to her.
And there she was, strolling through the door thankfully dressed modestly enough for Bree to stay alive. honestly, Bree didn't think she'd be able to handle it if Pan had turned up in her usual scantily-clad manner. She wouldn't be able to look her in the eye. Not that she could now, but it would have been harder if she hadn't been wearing anything. She silently thanked her God that the witch had decided to cover up. It made things a while lot easier for her. Still hard... but easier.
Or at least, it did make things easier before Pandora decided to be blunt. The water faerie swallowed nervously. She knew that the girl wasn't one to beat about the bush. In some ways, that was good. But it was so... so awkward. She didn't want to say it as if it meant nothing. But it was either this or not telling her at all. And, no matter how much Bree wanted to walk out of the room and act like this conversation never happened, she didn't. Instead, she took a deep breath, sat on her bed, and patted the space next to her. "Come sit," she said softly. It wasn't so much of an order than a question, but Bree thought that it would be better if Pan was sat down.
She sighed, hiding her face in her hands, before peering into those cornflower blue eyes. She wanted this to be sincere. Like she meant it. Because, she really, really did. "Pan," she started, the word strangled and hoarse, "I just... I need to tell you that..." She had to take several subtle deep breaths to calm herself. Okay, this was it. It was really happening. After three, Bree. her mind said. One. She blinked. Two, she drew breath. Three... "I think... I might have feelings for you."
There. It was out. It didn't matter how Pan took it for a second; Bree was just proud of herself but saying it. She'd done it. She'd done it. ... She'd done it. Oh god. No. What had she done? What if Pan didn't feel the same and their friendship got ruined forever? She looked at the witch with wide, worried azure eyes, hoping that the reaction wouldn't be bad. Maybe even... good.

She knew it. She knew it she knew it she knew it she knew it she knew it. Of course Pan wouldn't take it well. Heck, the faerie had pretty much told her that she was in love with her. Which, c'mon, she was pretty sure she wasn't... but she did really, really like Pan. Enough to do something like this, which was completely different from notes slipped inside lockers or anonymous flowers on Valentine's day. This was real, serious. It actually had meaning. Not that the girl often did stupid, meaningless things. But that didn't mean she never did things like that. This, however, was completely different.
As she saw her friend flit through a several range of emotions, she felt that same spark of hope rising within her. She knew it was crazy. Pan was her best friend, not her girlfriend. Bree had never had a girlfriend before. Actually, she'd never really been romantically involved with anyone past hugging and holding hands, so she didn't quite know what was going on. First of all, there was confusion on the witch's face, as if she was trying to find some kind of proof that it was a joke. Then the shock set in, and then... nothing visible on her face. She just... stared at the blonde.
Bree didn't know what was going on inside the teen's head, but there was something screaming at her to lean forward, bridge the gap between their bodies (which wasn't much - they were sat next to each other, for crying out loud). She didn't know what else to do, what else to say. So, saying a silent prayer, she leaned forward and pressed her lips softly, cautiously, against Pandora's. She didn't know what she was doing, she'd never done this before... but hopefully... it was okay? Maybe.

No. No. No. No. No. No. This wasn't happening to her, this was all some awful nightmare. She'd wake up in a minute, with a sigh of relief and a reminder never to let how she really felt about things or people show. But, sadly, that didn't happen. She didn't wake up, no matter how hard she tried. She couldn't wake up, namely because she wasn't sleeping. This was real, and happening. She'd actually... oh, god... maybe she could shake it off by acting drunk or something. Or call it an Early April Fool's joke. But then, her friend was smart. She would know.
Bree had never felt a bigger wave of panic than she did just then. She was pretty sure ever soul faerie withing a ten mile radius was having a field day right now, as her heart thumped madly in her chest and her blue eyes widened in a mixture of fear, horror and... embarrassment. No, embarrassment was an understatement. She felt absolutely humiliated. And, of course, it was her own fault. If she'd have just taken a moment to think before so carelessly kissing her best friend...
She understood completely when Pandora apologized. Bree had known that she wouldn't feel the same. Didn't mean that she was happy or okay with it... but she understood. She tried to smile at her, before saying "N-No. Don't b-be sorry. I sh-shouldn't have..." She trailed off, unable to finish her sentence. Oh, god. Why, Bree, why. her mind said. She felt like she could just die on this very spot and not care. In fact, she would welcome it. Anything to get away from this humiliation.

She had to leave. She just had to. It was so awkward in the room. She reached the door and then heard Bree speak. The guilt lacing each word tugged at the witch’s heart – making her actually quite shocked she had one. She really didn’t want to cause her friend this pain. It just wasn’t who she was. Pandora wasn’t mean. Not one bit. So there was no way that she was going to leave now. Not now she could hear how bad Bree felt about the kiss.
The young witch turned and was hit with the biggest shock in her life. It was like she was looking at a different person. Her brain finally made the connection. Friend to girlfriend. She was seeing Bree in a totally new light and it was beautiful. She was beautiful. A soft smirk was on her face as she looked at the embarrassed faerie. Then, a light laugh left her lips. “God, you are so adorable right now” she told her.
Pandora moved back toward the bed. She sat next to her friend and just looked down, shaking her head for a minute. Chuckles still escaping her lips. Then, she looked up and at Bree. How long would she keep the faerie in misery? Hmm, the longer she did the more fun this was but she had her own need. With one hand, she gently pushed the hair out of the girl’s face. Making sure her fingers brushed across the soft skin of her cheek. “Don’t you dare apologize either, Oceanus, because if you hadn’t have done that, I would have never done this” she told her friend, her words were almost harsh but had an underlying affection to them.
She leant forward and pressed her lips against Bree’s, and it felt just wonderful. She shifted, moving closer to the girl, and running her hands into her hair as she kissed her. A real kiss. Not just a peck on the lips. No. Pandora wanted to show Bree just how much she actually liked her. Her brain may have only just realised the romantic feelings she had toward Bree but now they were all she could think about. Deepening the kiss, ever so slightly, she wondered how she had not done this before. It was perfect. Oh, so perfect. Pandora didn’t think that she would ever feel so much care and affection toward one person ever again.

Maybe she could wake up from this nightmare yet. If she focused hard enough on it, maybe she could just rouse herself from this hell. It was her dream, surely she could control it f she wanted to? But something was telling her that, no, this wasn't a nightmare. And she'd known it wasn't, of course, she was just clinging to that flimsy hope. She didn't want any of this to be real, even though she knew it was all horrifically real. She'd just embarrassed herself horribly, and nothing could be done about it. She'd just have to deal with it. Or die. Death sounded preferable.
Adorable? But hadn't the witch literally just said that she couldn't do this? Because that was what Bree had heard her say. Had she heard wrong? Yeah. Maybe Pan had called her a dork. Which she was, of course. The biggest dork ever. But... that didn't explain the witch's facial expression. She ducked her head in a mixture of shame and embarrassment, shaking her head and squeezing her eyes shut. "M'not a-adorable." she protested weakly, her cheeks flushing pink, and she wrapped her arms around her middle in anxiety. She wasn't adorable, no, not even close.
Pandora was... coming back over. Was she serious? After she had humiliated Bree like that, she was teasing her? No. This was serious. She was being made fun of because of her emotions toward Pan. This wasn't fair, wasn't right. Either way, she felt her stomach flip when the witch's fingers brushed against her cheek, forcing her own eyes to make contact with the cornflower blue of her friend's eyes. She must have looked so pathetic, it was untrue.
And then the words. Those almost harsh, yet strangely loving. It took a moment for the flaxen girl to realize just what her friend was insinuating. Her cobalt eyes widened, and she just maaged to stutter a "P-Pan-- What--" before the kiss came.
It felt so perfect. So amazing that, after the initial shock of the reciprocation, Bree felt herself just melt into the contact. Her arms naturally slid around Pandora's waist, pulling her small frame closer. She felt Pan's fingers in her hair, and as the kiss deepened, she used her own fingers to push Pandora's platinum hair behind her ear. It felt oh, so right. Something had happened, something had changed... and Bree liked it a lot. She hoped that it would stay this way because... she was pretty sure she loved it.
