"A Septentrio never breaks their word" the 'seppies' | boreai family~
The Septentrio family are a family that can be dated back to 200 years after Ice Boreai first seemed to come into being. These, despite being Boreai and not needing to be part of the war were called upon to fulfill a promise their ancestors made to a Faery family: that when needed or asked for help, they will freely give it. When that family in question was almost wiped out entirely, the Septentrios stepped in to give aid. The current eldest of the family is Lucan who was followed by Ophelia and twins Castor and Pollux. However, Ophelia and Pollux were killed during the war.
LUCAN 254 .x. Ice element teacher at Northvale Academy .x. Ice Element .x. Luke Evans
Lucan is the oldest (and most responsible) member of the Septentrio family. Just like his element, he is cold, and occasionally harsh if he doesn't know a person. He doesn't trust people very easily - he is cautious, as past events have left him doubting who can and cannot be trusted.
Lucan is extremely cautious of and racist towards vampires, especially the Verdoux coven. Viktor Verdoux, the leader of this coven, killed his younger brother Pollux. He is, along with his other brother Castor, hellbent on making not only Viktor, but the entire Verdoux coven pay for their "heinous" crimes.
As the family head, Lucan is protective of his family, but not to the point of him being overbearing or suffocating. He's very much for letting his family make mistakes and learn from them, unless he fears that they might be killed. He'd lay down his life for each and every one of them if it ever came down to it.
CASTOR 242 .x. Doctor at Northvale Hospital .x. Lightning Element .x. Jamie Dornan
Castor is the younger brother of Lucan. Typical of Lightning Boreai, he has the cheerful and playful side of his air faerie roots, but is far more practical and commanding than an air faerie would be. This is reflected in his care for his only daughter, Alula. He is fiercely protective over her, almost restrictively so.
He absolutely despises vampires, especially Viktor Verdoux. The vampire killed his twin brother Pollux, something Castor has never quite recovered from. He is also convinced that his sister Ophelia, whose cause of death is unknown, was another victim of "those damn leeches". His dream is to see the entire coven wiped from the face of the earth. He believes that it'd be a lot safer if they just didn't exist.
Castor secretly dreads the day that Alula grows old enough to fend for herself, as his greatest fear is her being killed in the same way that her uncle was. Therefore, he does as much as he possibly can to keep her with him. Little does he know that his overbearing care is pushing his daughter away, even though she does still love him.
POLARIS 19 .x. College Student .x. Metal Element .x. Sam Claflin
Polaris is the eldest son of Pollux Septentrio, who was killed by Viktor Verdoux. He harbors resentment toward the vampire for the seemingly unprovoked killing, but not the rest of his coven. He is all for fairness, and where is the fairness in hating a clan for something one of its members did?
He is a typical metal borea - blunt, serious, and often hard to get a laugh out of. Unless, of course, you're Tania. He and his sister have an extremely close kind of relationship, in which Polaris feels that it is his duty to protect the girl - seeing as their father never got the opportunity. His greatest fear is her dying in the same way their father did.
Polaris is a strong believer in the principle of promising something, as are the rest of the family - once it's promised, it must be fulfilled. Although he understands that not all hold this belief, he expects people to carry out promises that they have made. Once someone he trusts breaks a promise, he loses trust in them. And that trust is something that is exceedingly hard to get back.
ALULA 17 .x. Fifth Year Borea Student .x. Ice Element .x. Anna Popplewell
Alula is the only daughter of Castor Septentrio, and the cousin of Polaris and Tania. She feels slightly restricted by her father, as he was the brother of Pollux Septentrio, who was killed by Viktor Verdoux. Even though she understands the reasoning behind her father's concerns for her, she wishes that she had a little more free reign over her life. She wants to find ways in which she can have a little freedom.
Alula, although polite, is very reserved and quiet. She isn't by any means shy, she just prefers to keep to herself. She's also very intelligent and academic, the type of girl that can get an A* on a Maths exam or memorise entire sonnets without even breaking a sweat. She'd much rather be studying than spending time with the few friends she has.
She can be rather mistrusting of others, seemingly without good reason. However, the stories that her father has told her do not bode well for some of the other races, such as the story of her uncle's death. Therefore, stereotypical of most Ice Boreai, she is cautious and hard to gain the trust of. If you gain her trust and lose it, you never, ever get it back.
TANIA 14 .x. Second Year Borea Student .x. Light Element .x. Willa Holland
Tania is the youngest member of the Septentrio family, at a mere fourteen years old. She is the younger sister of Polaris, whom she often teasingly refers to as "boring" and "old fashioned". The two have a very amicable relationship, although Polaris' level of protectiveness over her intensely irritates her. She and Alula get on well due to common ground - an overprotective male father figure.
Tania is what a person might call "naive". She's very trusting of people, and even if promises are repeatedly broken, she finds a way to forgive and forget, even though being a Septentrio makes this hard. She's eccentric, jumpy and has a hard time sitting still. She is often jokingly yet fondly referred to as the "ray of sunshine" within the family, occasionally even outside of it.
Tania often has a hard time finding a fault in anyone, unlike the rest of her family members. She believes that there is at least an ounce of good in every single person, and aims to bring it out, so that the world "can be a happier place to live in". Even though she knows she won't bring it out of everyone, she can damn sure try.
