words;; 467 ||outfit;; enforcer uniform ||tagged;; aria, alex, the enforcers ||notes;; due a while ago but I got it up :3 annddd a bit ramble-y. But basically, any other enforcer can join in (which I think is Poochie and Aella, right?) Seven thirty-nine.
Though, as much as he was told they weren't due until Eight a.m. sharp, he waited for the new trainees to arrive- its been ten minutes of waiting, and from the way he stood, glancing at the watch every minute or so, Rex was expecting to come soon.
'You can never be too early for anything' was the first thing he would prefer to see in the new trainees- he wasn't going to risk the word family on them because they haven't earned it yet. Being puntucal- it was something he had but being early? Nah. Some took their job with utter and total seriousness, like Poochie or Toast, but him? If he was expected at 8 am, he comes at 8 am- he wasn't going to be an early bird for anything.
Except to meet these... well, kids? Or maybe brats. Yeah, brats were more fitting. Anyways, they are, simply, some brats who's duty of being watched by the Enforcers. This was something he had to see for himself- preferably first. Really, he went through all this trouble getting up and dressed in his rather fine looking uniform, on the yard/track area with a book in one hand and two buckets of ice-cold water sitting dutifully next to him- which he had to carry over her. Though it was a frivolous little duty, that fact fueled one thing- he was certainly going to use it on the trainees-- late, early or on time.
For them, its been decided.
Seven forty-one.
....Sigh. Hopefully, they came in the next few minutes. Rex was itching to see the newbies and let his thoughts wander. From the information he was giving- he landed with the task of mentoring a young sorceress and Ripper landed an air faerie. While he was hoping one of the newbies being a werewolf, seems like he gotta get over the fact that luck doesn't like to cater. Especially towards him.
But seriously- what were the odds, him landing a sorceress? If he was the ignorant type, he probably protested this and demanded for the fae instead- but wasn't the goal, of him being an enforcer, was to get over his discomfort and slight racism, and promote peace? Yeah.... something like.
Apparently from some fancy family, Redburns? Redurns? Red-something. Like that really mattered, in the end. An evil, impish sort of grin played on the 200 year old looking werewolf- which was terrifying within himself. If any way, shape or form, was this newbie cocky about herself and family name, she had another thing coming.
Seven forty-two.
But would it kill for them to hurry the hell up?

How did that saying go again? It was something about time keeping, she was sure. Butt then, there were several that the woman could conjure on the subject of time keeping. She'd heard them many a time over the years. The early bird catches the worm. Time is of the essence. She'd heard the latter most frequently as she'd fought, and as she'd trained. It was one of the philosophies that she lived by, and would invariably follow, no matter what the circumstances happened to be. If she could physically be early the she would. If not, then by all means on time. Never late. Lateness was unacceptable.
However, she understood that not everyone was the same as her, that some people were slower. Sure, she still didn't tolerate lateness, but that didn't mean that everyone had to be early for absolutely everything. That was just something she chose to do. Not everyone had to abide by her rules - that was a bit much to expect of absolutely everyone, and quite unfair to boot. She didn't like being unfair. That's why she never was unfair. At least, she tried to stay unbiased toward certain things. It was just much less stress that getting involved in things that could make her lose her sight of what was fir and what wasn't.
On a completely unrelated vein, she couldn't help but worry for the trainees that were supposed to be arriving soon. Ye, she was very excited to meet her charge, and sure, she would train them up good and proper, but she worried for the other one. Both of them, actually. The fact that they were accepted into the programme spoke volumes, but... there were limits to anyone's power, anyone's ability, anyone's strength. And she couldn't help but fear that some of her fellow enforcers, although she loved them to pieces, didn't understand the concept of having limits, as they were something that they didn't believe they had.
Nevertheless, after waking up at the crack of dawn to get ready and then spending the rest of her time completing menial tasks like making sure the complex was presentable, or fetching Toast the remote because she was nice, she wandered into the main room to find she still had seventeen minutes remaining until the trainees were due to arrive. Ugh. Why couldn't time speed up? Or the trainees arrive? Or something?
She sat down, her eyes flitting down from the clock on the wall to see one of her six friends and colleagues also in the room. He looked quite antsy, as if he was also expecting the trainees arrive fairly soon. She knew that he'd been placed in charge of the sorceress, the older of the pair that was due to come in. She was excited to see how she'd fare. How they'd both fare, actually, but still. "Relax, would ya?" she said, with a slight chuckle and a shake of her head. She was vaguely aware that she may have been being slightly hypocritical there, but oh well. "M' sure they'll get here when they get here, Rexxie. Besides, s' not even eight o' clock yet."

It'd been a while since the slight air faerie had been quite so nervous for something. But for something that was actually important. Up until the night before he was due to meet the Enforcers, Alex hadn't exactly given it much thought or mind. This was just going to be like any other 'first day' on the job, like his first day at the Gateway which'd been entertaining rather than tiring, right? Wrong.
It turned out that as soon as Alex had tried to settle down and sleep for the night, his mind began to play every negative scenario out in his head. What if they didn't like him? What if he wasn't what they'd expected? What if they laughed and poked fun at his weedy appearance? What if - true to Callum's word - they ate him alive? Well. Not that he had much meat on his bones anyway, if anything they'd use him as a toothpick or something. But two werewolves and a vampire in their mix was something that worried him.
Alex's thoughts went from tangent to pointless tangent for what felt like hours. Sleep eluded him effortlessly as much as he chased after it and he knew that tomorrow he'd feel like crap. But not even knowing that the day after he'd be sorely missing the hours wasted on pointless thinking helped him doze off. If anything it had the exact opposite effect. In short, Alex had had a terrible night's rest.
Thankfully though - despite his little sleep - the same nerves that kept him from snoozing woke him up in the morning; a rare feat for the faerie. After ten minutes debating what to do - whether to jack off, pester Zephyr or jump in for a cold shower - Alex finally rolled out of bed. Seriously, though. Why couldn't he have the energy he had of a night in the morning? It'd make waking up so much easier. But, nah. His bed felt cosier and warmer, his shower colder and more bitter and his clothes just weren't working for him this morning.
Surprising himself by leaving the castle early, Alex left for the compound with just toothpaste and a cigarette for breakfast. Sure, he was running ahead of time but not that ahead. Plus his tummy didn't feel right. It was those darn nerves again, eating away at his stomach and making him feel queasy every time he remembered just what was planned out for today.
The walk to the compound was much shorter than Alex would've liked. He anxiously ran his fingers through his mousy brown hair, silky from his shower, and sucked the last bit of life out of his tab. A week prior to this moment he'd promised to give quitting another shot but... yeah, that'd ended up in another failure. Maybe one of these days he'd, y'know, give it some proper effort, instead of his attempts which'd been all half-assed up until now.
Arriving at the entrance to the Lex Coercitor Compound, Alex wondered if he should've maybe hung back on the corner and waited for Aria to, like, go in at the same time. Maybe that would've been for the best? Or... maybe she was there already? With a tense little nibble of his bottom lip, Alex slipped his phone from his jeans and squinted at the blaring light of his screen. Seven fifty-two.
Yeah, Aria was probably already there. And he was the one that looked tardy. Well, shit.
"Uh..." Alex gave a little clear of his throat and tugged his jacket closer as he wandered around the corner to the yard, where they were meant to meet. "Anyone home, like?" Okay. Not the most formal of ways to announce his presence. But whatever! His terrible night's sleep was clearly readable on his face. His body was grudgingly awake meanwhile his brain... wasn't? Was it too late to try again?
"Hola~" Little wave, bright smile, a glimmer of confidence. "M'names Alexander Torres? The, uh, air faerie one." Well, that was as good as they were going to get until he got some coffee.

I didn't like waiting. I hated it. In fact. I hated anyone who fucking made me wait. Yet here these little fuckers were. They were supposed to be on time, weren't they? Well... even if they were, it felt like they were late to me, and that qualified as laps for them just because I fucking said so. I didn't know why we were trying to add trainee's. Rex and I still had a lot of years left in us and I wasn't prepared to stop yelling at people for being complete twats. I looked over at Rex. I didn't think he looked happy either. I figure the both of us would be much happier if we were back inside the complex playing our video games.
I pull a pocket knife out of my pocket while I wait. It's something I tend to have on me at all times. This time instead of cutting something open like I sometimes like doing, I decided to dig the dirt from underneath my fingernails with it. I didn't actually care if I cut myself. A little pain never hurt nobody. That's what I always say.
The rest of the enforcers were here. Of course we were all here. We have some kind of duty with these fucking maggots that we have to teach them how to be strong and make sure they aren't stupid. There are two so far, from what I've been told. A little air faery that's supposed to be advanced for his age and shit. Then a little girl. She was a Redferne. I've heard about the Redferne's, of course, doesn't mean she deserves extra treatment for her fucking last name. If anything, I might work her a bit harder at first to make sure she doesn't have the Redferne attitude I've heard they all have. And if she does... well she has another thing coming at her that she better watch her fucking shit.
When the boy, if you can call him that, finally showed, I had cut myself twice, but got all the dirt out from under my nails. I suppose that would last for awhile. Maybe. Whatever. I didn't actually care, it had just been something to do. I looked closer at this air faery. He looked... feminine. Exceedingly feminine to the point where if he hadn't said he was the air fae. I would have thought he was the girl sorcerer. Well... Maybe not because I can clearly smell fae on him, but that's besides the point.
I gave him a harsh glare. I wasn't going soft on these two just because it was their first day. If I was treated softly when I first joined, I wouldn't be the big bag of muscles I am today. So think about that one. I looked at... Alexander?. He looked happy. Maybe even confident. Well that needed to change. I didn't bother going toward him at all. Instead I bent down, grabbed some dirt and rubbed it into my hands where my cuts were. I gave him a disgusted smile. "I don't care what your name is, honestly. But if we're doing introductions, I'm your worst nightmare. So get rid of that smile, because I don't think you can smile when you're on all fours puking your brains out. So you might as well stop now."
