Well, it was sort of technically not really a student's fault? Brent didn't actually blame Chase though because he was the one with the responsibilities and all that. Anyway, the whole thing was stupid and he didn't particularly wish to think about it. "Mm." he answered vaguely, still refusing to explain fully. And judging from what he was saying, Brent was pretty sure that this guy maybe had kids that he didn't get along with. "I dunno, I guess it would be better if school taught more useful stuff but it could be a lot worse." Brent reasoned.

Keer laughed a little at the thought of him being a teacher. He didn't have to say it but it was a thought he'd rather keep to himself. ”The only things getting worse is those blasted kids running around and making a mess of everything. They need to be disciplined and taught a lesson of doing what they are told.”

He was Keer's wayward son who not only ran away but also turned out to be gay and was in a blasted thing with the man Keer was walking with. Yeah, this guy definitely had kids, Brent had decided. Maybe they were the kind of chavvy kids that would live in the ew area of Northvale and had turned into the single mothers or the shitty fathers that had left the mothers to raise their eight billion mini-chavs by herself. Brent was glad that Dan hadn't come here to live with him and Robert because it wasn't nice. (And that would totally make Brent more of an alcoholic single mother according to his own logic.)

He agreed with Axel that maybe children did need to be disciplined more, but only some. "Yeah... So, I'm assuming you have kids, or something?" he glanced over at the other man.

Keer shook his head. He didn't really consider Chase his son since the boy had the guts to run away. ”Nope, not anymore. Both have died. First was my wife then my son. Never remarried after. Relationships are my thing and I only married my wife because she was pregnant with my son. But when they both died, well, it saved my sanity from dying. I never liked kids from the starts. Never liked responsibilities and being told what to do really.”

[/b] Keer said. He was partially honest. He did hate kids. And his wife did die.Chase on the other hand was only figuratively dead. The boy was very much alive. But Keer thought, for how long? Will Chase end up breaking and kill himself? Or attempt to kill Keer? He wanted to laugh. Chase? Kill him? Brent's face fell a little and he felt a little sympathy for Axel, even if it sounded like the man thought the deaths of his wife and son were best for him. Losing them still must've been difficult to deal with, not that Brent would know - kind of. He remembered clearly how low he'd felt once Daniel had abandoned him. However, Brent could relate to Axel in how he hated responsibilities and being told what to do. That was partly why he'd never gotten on with his own parents. He wasn't sure what he was supposed to say in response to all of that. Brent shrugged. "I s'pose I can understand that... a lot of the time I don't really get on with other people."

Keer chuckled at what Brent said. Well he had to admit that he himself didn't get along with people as well. Especially those who get on his nerves. ”I was never good with responsibilities. My own dad had left me when I was a kid. I never really knew how to be a grown up since my own mother was just as worse when it came taking care of me. Don't get me wrong, I do miss my family. I just can't feel as attached since I was never really good at commitment and all that shit.”

Having a parent just walk out on you couldn't have been nice, Brent wouldn't have been able to cope with that as a kid because it would mean less attention and gifts for him. It was strange how much he was able to relate to what Axel was saying. He missed his own parents but it wasn't a big deal since they were never that close. "Yeah... I feel similarly towards my own family." Brent's smile was smaller this time, almost forced. He didn't like to be reminded of the other McKinneys after what he'd done to them.

Keer shrugged as he saw flashes of his life when Chase and his wife were still alive. Fights every single day, agruing and yelling about every small petty things. It didn't get any better when he found out Chase was gay. He shook his head and placed his hands in his pockets. ”Well, its all in the past now. I don't remember how my parents look like and I don't want to remember the life I once had. It just makes the disappointment and hatred come back and nothing ever comes out of hating my long-gone parents. And nothing to gain from missing my dead family.”

"No, there isn't." he nodded, kind of losing concentration on the topic since it wasn't one that he was enjoying to think about. They were almost at the hospital now though, Brent could see it a short while off. He was kind of glad that their conversation was almost over but then he realised he'd soon have to paint on a smile and pretend he was just the receptionist this hospital was looking for. It had to work. They... they needed his dashing good looks to bring in the patients. Yes. That was exactly why he should be hired.

Keer had gotten a few bits of information about Brent. And that was enough for now. He was going to have fun tormenting Chase for being so close to Brent yet leaving him alive and none the wiser that Keer was aiming to make Chase's life and Brent's life, by extension, a living hell. ”Well, I can see the hospital now. I'm sure that whatever you do there will go well. You did manage to get there.”
