Crooked Wheels Keep Turning [KEERIAN]

This area of Northvale could only be summed up using one word: ew. It was all dirty, and cheap-looking and seemed like somewhere a middle-aged, alcoholic, single mother and her large amount of children (most of which dealt drugs or were prostitutes) lived. It made sense why his friend Robert lived here now and he wasn't happy that, since he'd been fired, this was his new address. At least he knew he was quite probably the most well-groomed, fashionable person around. He'd made an extra effort today because he was finally going to try out for a new job or meet up with Chase or both, he hadn't decided yet.

He emerged out onto the dim-ish streets on this late Monday evening after passing through a dingy, little alleyway that had been the only way of escaping from his new residence. The main problem here was that he had no idea how to get to the hospital - and if it was a long way, he was totally not going to go there at all - to try out for his new job. He tapped a random guy on the shoulder. "Uh, hey, do you know how to get to the hospital from here?"

Keerian was roaming the streets, hoping to run into Chase once again. Yet he knew that the boy wouldn't be walking alone again. He smirked as he tried to walk in human speed. Then someone tapped his shoulder. The next second, Keer sniffed and didn't have to be a genius to know who the guy was. He smirked, ”Its nearly six blocks from here really. Head straight ahead and turn right. And from there you just go straight.”

[/b] Keer instructed with a tone that bordered between amusement and disgust. This was the boyfriend Chase was talking about. The scent of his own son was strong on him. And When Keer had run into Chase, the same half-breed scent was on Chase. It was unmistakable.[/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote][/color][/size]

God, why was he being smirked at? That wasn't a nice sort of smirk, Brent could tell. It was... a creepy one, and he didn't like it. He didn't like it even more when he thought that maybe he'd met this guy before? Or maybe he'd just seen him around a lot. There was something in his face that he recognised from somewhere else, for sure. It didn't matter though because Brent was sort of borderline drunk right now, not that there was anything new about that.

For a few moments, he processed the man's instructions but he couldn't get them to stick in his head and they got all jumbled up. Perhaps he'd skip the hospital and go straight to Chase. "Right... okay." Brent said slowly, frowning. It was pretty obvious that he was still kind of lost in the land of chavs and that he was a little concerned by the guy he was talking to. He was weird.

Without having to think, Keer knew that half-breed, Brent didn't get the direction he gave. ”See that corner? Turn right and just go straight. You'll see the hospital then. If you want I can take you there. I don't have anything to do anyway.”

[/b] Keer offered since Brent looked like he would really get lost if no one took him. Keer wanted to know this guy who is being the reason his son can't be a man at all. Despite the fact that this guy was dodgy-looking, Brent thought it was going to make his life easier if he did take his offer of assistance. Besides, you shouldn't judge a book by its cover and all the shit. Look at Robert, he was very dodgy-looking and he was actually harmless - most of the time. Brent wasn't forgetting the time that his friend had totally taken advantage of him when he was a lot younger. "Um, okay, that'd be cool." he half-smiled hesitantly. Axel was definitely a dodgy-guy name. However, again, Brent knew he was probably being stupid by thinking that. "I'm Brent." the crossbreed replied. He was ignoring his instincts that were telling him to go off by himself. It wasn't like he was useless at defending himself though, he had his fire powers. Unfortunately, that was about it.

Keer nodded and began to walk. He could tell that Brent was in between running away from him and trusting him to get him to the hospital. Alive. Keer smirked as he walked in human pace. He didn't want to have to get rid of the other too soon because it would take away the challenge. Besides, Keer wanted to kill Brent in front of Chase. that way, his son would finally have a solid idea that if he didn't do what Keer wanted, no matter where Chase would go, Keerian was going to be there as well.

”Come on then. What do you want to do at the hospital if you don't mind me asking. You don't look like you need medical attention.”

[/b] Keer said which was making conversation. He hadn't had seen Chase since the last and Keer knew that his son had been doing his best to avoid him. What he didn't know was if Chase had told Brent about his running in with him. Well, it looked like he didn't. And that looked perfect to Keer.[/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote][/color][/size]

Brent followed Axel, walking beside him but still keeping a relative about of distance between the two of them. It wasn't like him to actually feel paranoid but that something about this guy was bugging him and he didn't like it. He didn't seem too weird at the moment though so Brent relaxed a little. "I'm after a job. Since I went and lost my last one." he shrugged. Brent wasn't exactly bitter about losing his old job because it had sort of sucked a lot but, y'know, he still kind of missed it in a weird way.

What was it about Brent that his son was clinging to him? Why Brent? And why can't Chase just leave the guy and go straight? Didn't Chase fear Keer? Brent thought that he saw something like amusement flicker across Axel's face but he guessed he could've been mistaken. Besides, Brent losing his job was kind of something to laugh at. If you were a dick. But he wasn't going to think about it because Axel didn't look like the kind of guy you should lose your temper with.

Brent knew he had to be careful about how he answered these questions because he couldn't exactly tell the truth since then he'd seem like the dodgy one. "Oh, I taught at the Academy. And I... I just... did stuff. Yeah." he replied hesitantly. Brent had failed to find another believable reason for why he'd been fired while he was on the spot so 'did stuff' would have to do. It wasn't a lie!

Keer simply nodded and accepted Brent's vague answer. He didn't want to push too fast. Besides, they had time. He turned the corner and continued to walk. ”You're a teacher? Well either you lost your job because you managed to lose it because of all those blasted students? Or you had done something far worse. Either way, I think teaching is a load of bull which says a lot. What those children should learn are things that they need to survive the real world. Maybe then they won't end up having so many mistakes for their parents to clean up.”
