This was a day to remember because Brent was on time - although that was mostly Chase's fault since he was the one he'd made the effort to be punctual for. He couldn't remember the last time he'd been on a date but it had to be an embarrassingly long time ago. Brent didn't know what they were watching and he hadn't heard much about what was on so he was hoping that Chase was a good movie-picker since the hybrid was clearly not. Brent bathed in the sunlight that shone down on him as he leaned against the wall outside the cinema and waited for his boyfriend to make an appearance.

Chase was more excited than he wanted to let show about this. It was going to be his first proper date. Ever. And he was positive he wouldn't want to spend it with anyone else but Brent. He might have been a little later than he would have normally been to something like this, but he was held up on his outfit. It was nice out. The sun was shining and Chase was dreading having to wear a long sleeve shirt in the movie theaters. He had short sleeve shirts. Of course he did. But... they were scarce and he didn't wear them. But today. He put one on. When he looked in the mirror, his eyes had flashed immediately down to the scars that laced his arms. Then he booked it out of the room before he had a chance to change his mind.

He made his way to the movie theater quickly, trying not to give in to his urge to go change. When he made it there, though, and saw Brent leaning against the building... he wasn't worried. He let out a breath he didn't know he was holding and walked up to Brent, looked around quickly before smiling and pecking him on the lips. "Like the clothes."

Brent had to say that it did surprise him a little to see Chase wearing short sleeves and he could only admire the boy for that. He knew that Chase usually stuck to long sleeved shirts so he could hide the scars on his arms that weren't too easy to spot now, especially not if you hadn't been been aware that they were there in the first place. It made him smile extra wide, feeling proud of Chase but Brent was able to see that the fae did seem kind of self conscious so didn't say anything about it. He smiled more when Chase pecked him on the lips and then grabbed the soul fae's hand.

"Is that a hint of sarcasm I detect there?" he raised a brow, looking down at Chase from behind his sunglasses. He'd bought some more clothes for the summer months that were perhaps kind of... adventurous?

Chase wasn't sure if it was truly sarcasm of not. It wasn't like the clothes were horrible, he supposed. They were just a bit bright and not a blazer. Or a button up. And it didn't look like Brent style. Chase didn't mind, the pants looked really good on him. He gave Brent's hand a squeeze and shook his head. "'Course not, Boo."

"So The Great Gatsby just came out, and I wanted to watch it anyways because that's one of my favorite novels and it has DeCaprio in it as well which makes everything ten times better. So that's what we're going to see, okay?"[/b] Chase told his boyfriend, smiling wide. Chase had read the Great Gatsby a few times in his life. A few being like... ten times.

Brent decided to believe Chase which may've had something to do with the fact that he'd just been called 'Boo' and that was a seriously adorable nickname. "M'kay, good." he grinned. His choice in clothing was perfect and he was beautiful. Like he always was.

Surprisingly, Brent thought that he'd actually heard of The Great Gatsby before. It rang a bell somewhere, anyway, so yeah. "...Alright." Brent nodded. He could only hope this film wasn't going to be huge pile of shit but since Chase looked like he really wanted to see it Brent was going to go along with it. "Leonardo DiCaprio, he's the one that's never won an Oscar, right?" Brent had only heard about him through people poking fun at that fact on the internet.

Brent knew Leo hadn't won an Oscar in his life? That was how Brent knew him? Chase smirked knowingly at his boyfriend. "You so have a tumblr and you are so giving it to me."

[/b] Chase told him with a faux stern look before nodding. "But yeah. He's the one. Maybe this will get him one. He's supposed to be really good in it, and he's the lead. He's Gatsby."[/b] Chase told him, but he doubted it. DeCaprio would probably skid by the award yet again. Maybe he'll get a nomination. But he wouldn't win. Chase was predicting that already.

Hah. Brent was letting Chase know his URL? No way. Nobody he knew in real life was getting their filthy hands on his blog. "...What's... Tumblr?" He cleared his throat slightly before attempting to ask what was probably the stupidest thing possible in this situation. Woah, and Gatsby was a person, apparently. He didn't know that. Brent had thought that Gatsby was some kind of car or building or place or a something rather than a someone. "Oh, right?" He really was clueless when it came to this sort of stuff.

Chase laughed at Brent. "What's tumblr my ass. You are lying. I feel what you feel. Do you keep forgetting that?"

[/b] Chase asked him with a laugh, but rolled his eyes. "But fine, you don't have to give me your tumblr. But that means you aren't getting mine either."[/b] Chase teased him. He wouldn't mind giving his tumblr to Brent... no one else had it, sure. But Brent was different. It wasn't like he had anything bad on his tumblr either. He posted a lot of sheet music for drums and pictures of bands and such. It was nice on tumblr. People were nice on tumblr.

Leave it to Brent to not know about the main character, because Chase could totally tell he didn't. "Should we go in and get tickets and seats, then?"[/b] Chase asked Brent, smiling widely.

Yes, Brent did keep forgetting that because he was horrible person that lied too much. That hadn't counted as a proper lie in his mind though because it was too stupid and Tumblr-related. He wanted Chase's Tumblr... he'd have to sneakily find it and stalk him somehow. Brent could totally do that without being suspicious too. "Ugh, 'kay." he huffed, pouting at Chase. That was fair though, he had to admit.

Seats and tickets were good because then he wouldn't have to continue with having to carry his own weight around and moving his legs to walk because that took so much effort. "Yes, we should!" he smiled. Brent dragged Chase inside, eager to sit down and rest his weary limbs.

Chase laughed at the ugh. Most people forgot, so it wasn't like Chase wasn't used to it or anything. He smiled and laughed before being pulled into the theater. He hoped there wasn't anyone that knew them or anything since they were still being all secretive and shit but... Chase couldn't be bothered to care at this point. He went up to the counter, or a few feet away from it at least, and smiled before freaking out and grabbing onto Brent's arm to stand slightly behind him. Half hiding from the person selling the tickets. He was just that socially awkward.
