For the middle of May, the weather was astonishingly terrible in the sorcerer's opinion. Just when he'd thought summer had arrived, there was another dreary day. It wasn't raining though, thankfully, it was especially chilly and dark to compensate for that, it seemed. Nevertheless, Kit had gone out to practise his wandwork and eat somewhere quiet where it wouldn't matter if he made a bit of a mess. Really, he knew he was never going to make it as even an 'okay' sorcerer. All he was good at was his ability to understand animals which he knew was due to his magical blood. That mostly made up for his lack of skill in the other areas of sorcery but it was still depressing.
He didn't appear as laid back as he usually was, his features contorted into a frustrated sort of scowl that was directed at his wand. Kit had been graced with these powers for a whole sixteen years now; yet he remained unable to complete even the most basic of spells. "Lux." he hissed at his wand, staring at it to see if it would finally produce any light from the tip of his it but he had no such luck even if he'd been trying the spell for ages now. "Oh, fuck this." Kit slammed his wand down on the table and glared at his lunchbox that still remained inside his rucksack. This mildly aggressive mood he was in was completely out of character and it was very, very rare to see him in such a state but he'd reached a point where he was so fed up with not ever being able to achieve anything magic-wise that he let it all get to him. Kit kind of wanted to just cry and punch things but no. He was going to sit here and wallow in self pity instead, not daring to go that far because he was already alarmed by how he could even feel like such a worthless piece of shit.

It wasn't really bothering Ophelia that the weather was completely terrible. Since it wasn't actually raining, she was okay with the dull, dark clouds that had rolled into the sky. The dodgy-looking weather had meant that everyone else had avoided coming outside to eat, which was fine with her- it meant that she'd have time to herself where she could eat her lunch and sketch something in the peace and quiet of her own company.
At least, that was what she'd thought; however, when she'd got outside she noticed that she wasn't the only one who'd decided to eat in the picnic area, to her great surprise. Perhaps someone else had decided company wasn't great? She wasn't about to go up to him and announce that they were suddenly going to be best friends, but neither was she going to be completely rude and sit as far away from this guy as possible... she concluded in the end that the best place to sit would be on the table next to him. She wouldn't seem overly creepy or rude then.
Lia ate her lunch as quickly as possible, and got her sketchbook out of her bag- she wanted to use as much of her time for sketching as possible. However, just as her pencil touched the paper the guy let out an extremely loud expletive, which made her jump. She certainly hadn't been expecting that. Looking up at the guy on the table next to her, she was tempted to ask something nice like 'What's wrong?', but couldn't work up the courage to actually say anything to someone she'd just met so instead just sat with her mouth hanging half-open idiotically, hoping and praying this guy wouldn't see her there. Even though she was literally the only person nearby so really, there wasn't much chance of that.
