Silver stopped walking and turned to Aine, "And you think I haven't? Aine, I have lived far too long in this world. I am no saint and would only smear and burn its name to the ground. I see you as angelic because despite what you think you have done, you can still smile and live knowing what you did." he told her, hoping she would understand. Silver had bloodied his hands far more than he could remember. Being a vampire didn't help since he was able to remember every face of every man he had killed to protect or help someone.

"No one is as innocent as children nowadays. That is the truth. But for those able to move pass their mistakes and dark pasts and move on to try and be a better person matters most in my eyes and the rest of the world." he added and smiled at her. Silver really just hoped that even at a young age, Aine would understand what he wanted to say.

I think Silver took delight in making me blush. The way he kept talking to me made me blush. I nodded at him not knowing what to stay. I could see the hurt in his eyes. What he said made perfect sense. I couldn't blame myself for my father's death. He died because some stupid guy decided to get drunk and slam his car into my dad's. I couldn't blame myself for my reaction. I should of told someone though. I should have gotten help before. My eye's started welling up with tears. I just needed to stop thinking about it. I tried to say something anything to make Silver understand that I wasn't crying because of him. I was crying because I felt something inside me snap as he said those words. What I needed was to get back to my room and lay on my bed and snuggle Sunflower till I fell asleep. I didn't want to run away from Silver quite yet though. For some reason my feet seemed to be planted to the ground.

Silver's eyes widen when he saw tears on Aine's eyes. He didn't know what he had done to make her cry. It must have been what he had said. Was he too harsh? Silver had never harsh to a lady. He had made sure that he made his words as light as he could. "A-aine? Did I something wrong? I'm sorry..." he said as he took out his handkerchief and instantly handed it to her. He took a step back to give her air and looked around. Luck enough, no one was around. Silver had never made a woman cry in the last ten decades. And here comes Aine, a student who he barely knew and he makes a mistake that he had never thought he ever would.

His mind began to work overdrive and thought out a plan to make up for making her cry. But he didn't really know what to do because he had never done it before. Silver was good in many things but what his immortal life failed to make him learn was how to console a crying young lady when his own words made her cry in the first place.

Crying was something I didn't do to often in front of other people. I didn't like crying. It made me feel vulnerable and small. I especially didn't like to cry in front of people I just met. People who were just trying to be sweet and charming. I took Silver's handkerchief and dabbed my eyes. "I-I'm sorry. You d-didn't say anything wr-wrong. I-I just... I-I've been through a lot... I-I just..." My words were coming out all jumbled. The tears were coming faster the more I talked. I needed to get to my room. Needed to go hide for about an hour till I could show my face again. Till I was fine. So I could smile and be the bright shining Aine everyone at Northvale seemed to know. Not the dark whole inside. The little girl that cried herself to sleep almost every-night. The girl who could be talked to without jumping away in the fear that they might hurt me. The girl who feared getting close to anyone. "I-I've got to go..." I told him before running away to my room. To my comfortable bed. A place where I could be alone.

Silver was a bit relieved when Aine said it wasn't his fault. But if it wasn't something he did or said, then why did she cry? Then she said that she had been through a lot. Who hasn't? But Silver pointed out to himself that she was young and thought that she might have just gotten through something so recently. The pain looked like it was a bit new.

Before he could say anything, she had bid him a quick farewell and ran off. "If you need me, all you have to do is call my name... I'll listen." he whispered to the air, knowing she would have heard it as she went farther and farther. He sighed, shook his head and went to run to his dorm room to rest up. Today had been strange. Very strange.
