The wizard paced around in his dorm, his thoughts whirling from what had happened earlier. When he had entered the Teacher's Lounge earlier, he had walked in with concerned thoughts over his younger brother, Tobias's actions yesterday. Liam had caught word of how he used harsh, violent magic on Andrew Locke. The very boy Cain had formed affection towards. He was going to speak to Tobias about it, but Cain had entered and started asking questions about it himself so Liam let Cain deal with Tobias. After all, it was Cain's...lover Tobias had acted against. But then Tobias brought up that Andrew had started it. That Andrew had insulted their family saying that their past was an excuse for their behavior. Liam understood that Tobias and Aria could come off as arrogant and ‘holier than thou’- no- not just them. All of them could. Yes, their family had a shit past but at the end of the day they worked hard to reach the level of power they had. They had to. They carried a clan name whose reputation could be dated back to the 1700’s. The Redferne clan had unethical, questionable methods of raising their children- beating emotion out of them, teaching their children not to only trust their own. So yeah, they were an arrogant, prideful family that could be cold and unwelcoming to others but how could they be any different when that was all they ever really knew? That’s what angered him. That Andrew boy’s complete ignorance to it all. He didn’t understand their family- Cain’s family- he didn’t seem to try to understand them and so, he insulted them without taking into consideration that insulting one of them about their past and how they were brought up was like insulting all of them. Cain included. Liam understood Tobias's reaction to it. Did it justify what he did against Andrew? No. But Andrew should've known that to say such a thing would invoke a negative response. And to say such a thing to Tobias? The most hot-headed, unreasonable and sensitive of them all? It was beyond foolish of him. Liam let out an exasperated sigh. He didn’t want to think about it knowing that he’d just work himself up into a mood that he usually liked to avoid. For Cain’s sake and only for Cain, Liam wanted to refrain from hostility towards Andrew. He wished he could say he wanted to accept the boy into the family, but he didn’t and probably wouldn’t now. But for Cain’s sake he would tolerate the boy.
Thinking about Cain also made him feel a stab of annoyance. ‘Let me be happy’. His brother's words repeated in his head like a nails against a chalkboard. Since when had Liam showed any signs of not wanting his brother’s happiness? Never. In fact, for so fucking long that’s all he ever wanted; his family to be happy. So Cain even implying that Liam was preventing him from being happy made the eldest Redferne pissed off- even if he hadn’t shown it. Then, there was the matter of how his brother spoke to Pandora. He spoke to her disrespectfully without any real reason and even if he did have reason that was no way to speak to a woman. If Cain had continued with the disrespect Liam could’ve sworn that if the man hadn’t started to show more respect he was going to show him how to. The Redferne way. Which wouldn’t have been with kind words and gentle instruction.
Liam’s phone buzzed with a text from the table it had been placed upon and he was grateful for the distraction from his thoughts. His thoughts had been working him up into a mood that he usually liked to avoid. Putting a stop to his pacing, he went to pick up his phone and read the text message. Pandora. "Hey. You seemed a bit, well, I don't even know earlier.. And risking sounded like a over-protective whateveriam, just wanted to know if you're okay? If not I can come over or something? Idk.." Her concern was enough to make some of his internal anger die down and maybe even brought the smallest of smiles to his face. No, he wasn't okay and she didn't sound over-protective she sounded like she actually cared about his well-being which actually made him feel...valued? He wasn't sure what he felt...he just knew that it felt good. But then, he found himself feeling...what? Regret? Guilt? He wasn't sure what it was but...he hadn't been warm to her earlier- he had acknowledged her but he hardly spoke to her. Not really. And when Cain had been disrespectful...he hadn't stood up for her when he should have. He should have defended her. Then he had left...with only a cold 'Goodbye'. He knew it was a risk, Pandora coming to the North-West Tower to see him....but wanted to see her because he owed her an apology. She didn't deserve his coldness no matter how annoyed, irritated and angered he was at others. He needed to see her because Pandora's presence alone could make him forget everything else made him happy and even if it was just for the shortest of time, to see her face, apologize and see a gorgeous smile grace her soft lips...it'd be worth it. So with that, he replied to her. 'Come over. I'm in my dorm.'
He waited then. Waited for the sound of her knuckles knocking against the oak door of his room. To see anyone else's face nowwhen he answered it would be a completely unwelcomed disappointment that would be greeted by a cold, harsh response. Liam only wanted to see Pandora right now. No one else. When he heard the knock, without hesitation he went to his door and opened it without a word, stepping aside so she could enter his room before anyone in the tower could see. Not that he cared. No, he didn't care right now. The whole school could see her walk into his room and he wouldn't give a shit because it was none of their goddamn business what Liam and Pandora were to each other. After she entered the room, he closed the door and finally began to speak to her in his usual, calm voice. Void of the anger and irritation he felt earlier. He couldn't feel those emotions towards Pan. "Before anything else can be said-" He paused. Call him stupid because he was. Why? Because he only just properly looked at her. God, she was stunning. Pan always wore clothing that even Liam would admit was enough to make any man's heart race. Or at least, that's what he thought. As he looked at her, he couldn't help or stop his eyes from travelling down her body. Her body was...her legs were...yes, he had to take a moment to regather his bearings. "- you look stunning" He finished his sentence that was originally going to be his apology but that could wait for now as he returned his gaze to those perriwinkle blue eyes he had grown so fond of.

The short length of time it took from the moment she knocked on the doior to him opening it seemed like an eternity. She was just positive someone would see her. That one of the teachers would come out of their dorm and demand to know why she was visiting Liam. Well. She could have passed it off as some kind of tutoring thing. He was training her after all. The thought made the corners of her lips tug upward. The man was helping her so much. He'd started to help her even before their.. relationship. It just made her realise that he cared. And that was all the young witch could ever ask for. It seemed her life was finally falling into place. Her parents were back together. She had Liam. Yes. Life was turning out rather well at last.
The door opened and she gave Liam a soft smile. In fact, she couldn't help it. Whenever she saw him, she smiled. As he moved slightly she stepped into his room. Rather glad to be out of the corridor. He shut the door behind her and began to speak but as she looked at the man she fought a smirk. His eyes weren't meeting hers but instead taking in her appearance. She looked down briefly. Yes. The outfit was worlds away from her usual wouldn't-look-out-of-place-on-a-stripper garb. When he did speak again, she laughed. An overwhelming feeling came from her heart. Hearing those words just made her so incredibly happy. It wasn't because of vanity. No. It was because they were from him.
She opened her mouth only to shut it again when she realised that she was speechless. Bringing a hand up, it went through her hair as she broke the gaze. Looking down slightly. Trying to gain some level of composure. Really, he had been cruel. She still didn't expect the compliments and now? Well. They made her lost for words as emotions raced through her. A multitude of happiness, amusement, slight embarresement too. The witch ran a hand through her light blonde hair as she looked up once again to meet his gaze. She still felt.. Flustered? Yes. That fit. Opening her mouth she tried to force out words. Words were good. "Well. Uhm. Thank you?" a soft laugh left her lips "You caught me just a little off guard then.. But if you're done admiring what's yours then what were you really going to say?"
And then she could have kicked herself. Did she just say that she was his? Yes, she thought it enough but telling him? Okay. Maybe it was just some still lingering emotions from earlier that made her say it. Not that she really cared that she had said it. He deserved to know. Pandora cared for the man. Quite a lot, actually. It was why she was here. She wanted, no, needed to see him smiling again. He'd left so suddenly and coldly. And from her concern came irritation that she hadn't been able to do anything. And then she threw that irritation onto her friend. God. Her life was fucked up. At least Toby approved. Not that he knew the relationship actually existed but he'd approved in the hypothetical situation. That was enough to make her happier again.
She'd have to make it up to Alex somehow. Maybe pay for a shopping trip. Pandora wasn't actually short on money. Her father had money and her grandparents? Well. They were certainly wealthy. So no, she wasn't with a Redferne for the riches. Her mind flicked to what Toby had said to Andrew.. She'd been terrified to speak. If she had, words might have rolled off her tongue that couldn't be said. That she was with Liam. But no. They weren't parading whatever they had around. She'd been so close to telling Tobias though. And as she looked at the man in front of her? She realised just how much she wanted to tell everyone. Then maybe they'd stop trying to get him.
It was her turn to look him over and, well, when was the man not stunning? Really? The witch actually couldn't believe her luck. But she refrained from voicing her thoughts. Another thing that just made Liam Redferne just that little bit more handsome was the fact he didn't care about how fucking hot he was. He was far from vain but he wasn't exactly modest either. He was just.. impassive to it. She smiled. Could she have liked him more just then? Doubtful.
