"No! What the hell are you doing, you stupid sonuva bitch?! Are you feckin' blind?!" Emmanuel lurched forward on the couch, hollering at the ref on screen. "He didn't even touch him, you bloody idiot!"

But that was about it for the game. Cork didn't have time to make up the lost point, especially not now with their star player off the field. "Morons," he muttered, jabbing at the power button on the remote. The TV went quiet.

It was Sunday, which meant time off, but also plenty of time to feel guilty about putting off lesson plans - not that they were even all that difficult, but still. Em eyed the stack of papers sitting on the kitchen table and made a leery expression. Nope. Not time for that yet. He finished off his beer and stared at the too-large space between himself and the fridge.

Suddenly, he let out a hoarse shout. "Ah! Dan! Get your arse down here now!" His voice was in a panic, but his expression stayed neutral as he leaned back on the couch.

Dante was enjoying the quiet night in his room. Looking over some homework with some of his time, reading a book about Earthquakes in his other time. It was nice and quiet. He liked being quiet. He enjoyed the silence and the peacefulness that came with it. So when his brother yelled up to him, panic clear in his voice, Dante freaked out. He dropped the book he was reading on the ground. He practically sprinted to the door and looked at his brother, who didn't seem to be in any kind of danger, what so ever. "What was the yell for?!"

Sitting against the cushions, trying to look as innocent as possible, Emmanuel held up his empty beer and grinned. "Thought I saw a spider. Get me another beer, bro? I'm out."

He regarded the furious look on Dante's face and weighed the possibilities that his little brother might actually beat the shit out of him this time. His bad leg propped up on the coffee table, Em gestured toward it and pulled that old, reliable card. "Cripple," he said with a pout. "Besides, you've been locked up in your room all day. You're gonna give yourself an ulcer, Dan. I'm just lookin' out for you, really." With a serious nod, Emmanuel set his empty beer bottle aside and looked up at his brother hopefully.

Sometimes Em made Dante exceedingly angry. Obviously it didn't take rocket science to figure out that he had only wanted him to get another beer and there was no spider and definitely no immediate danger. He glared at the faery before walking to the fridge and grabbing a beer for him, almost chucking it at his head but deciding that wouldn't be a good idea. "You're a lazy ass."

[/b] Dante told him before going back to the fridge and grabbing his own beer. He thought he needed it because of his idiotic brother. "And I'm perfectly fine being in my room all day. It's peaceful. I'm doing things for my class and I'm reading. It's a lot more fun than being out here with you while you watch sports."[/b] Dante rolled his eyes. He would take his solitude over his brother watching annoying sports any day.

Emmanuel took his beer with a triumphant grin. "You love me!" he called after his brother. He took a swig and set the beer on the coffee table with a sigh of contentment. You just couldn't beat a cold beer on a lazy Sunday in his book.

When his brother came back into the room, Em tossed a few stray throw pillows off the couch to make room for Dante's ridiculously large self. "Just because you're being responsible and shit don't mean it's good for you. You keep reading all the time like that, and you're gonna go cross-eyed. Besides, how could you not want to watch Cork City? Cork City, man! You know, that place we grew up? How about some hometown spirit?"

He shrugged and took another drink. "But we got boned anyway, so I guess it don't matter."

Dante sighed and sat down next to Em on the couch. Yeah... he did love Em. More than anything because he really didn't have anyone else besides his mother, but that wasn't important. The point was Em tricked him into getting him a beer because he was too lazy to get one himself. If he wasn't a cripple... Dante would definitely shove him off the couch and on the ground. "I'm not a sport guy. You know that. I don't care if you were on the television. I wouldn't care. And it's not bad for me. It's good for me. Watching television is bad for me. I like reading."
