The world around Andrew Locke was so completely beyond twisted. Parents: dead. Best friend: no freaking clue. Home: burned to the ground. School: transferred to this weird-ass place. New school: ...what would there be to say? Weird people. Weird families. Weird social structure. Weird classes. Not to mention all the magic and shit. Things That Go Bump In The Night + Twilight.
He'd tried not to think about it. Really. But all that weird can get to you after awhile. For Andrew, it slowly seeped into his skin like wet and cold snow. It had been fine, but now as he had some time himself, and as he took a minute to look as his life, there was only one important answer.
He still had no leads on Carter.
He'd spent so much time and energy, for so long, just to find the kid. Even came here, in case he had something to do with this world, and to make him strong enough to find him. But no dice.
Andrew was finally done with this feeling of loss and nothing, and it was time for a drink. The Gateway, his new best friend was empty enough, not so bustling as per its usual, which was fine by him. Noise was annoying at the moment.
He pulled up a barstool and ordered without looking at whoever was serving him. "Gimme whatever you got that's strong."

Andrew touched the cold glass to his lips to drink deeply, slowly. It burned its way down in such an seductively amazing way that he stopped only when the glass had nothing left but dregs. "Another, please." The bartender stared at him a little bit before scuttling away to fill his glass again. Andrew's feminine face was contorted in such an angry way that is had scared the man.
For a moment, Andrew was so lost in thought that he almost didn't hear Pan as she walked up to him. "Hm? Oh, sorry. Hi, Pan." He didn't realize what he looked like, so her concern was unexpected. Trying to relax his facial muscles so he didn't worry her so much, his lips turned slightly upward in a wry smile. "It's nothing..." he tried at first, but her expression led him to not want to lie. She was, in many ways, like an older sister to him, and one doesn't lie to their older sisters, if they have one. Or so his morals dictated.
He sighed visibly. "No, it's not nothing, Pan. It's just...this place. It's so weird. I mean, vampires? Werewolves? Not to mention, I'm a wizard? It feels like I've been thrown into Twilight and Harry Potter or something!" He stopped talking for a minute, then laughed humorlessly. "Sorry, it's the alcohol. Making me all depressed."

Pandora watched as he got himself another drink before walking over. She was a bit concerned for the guy, actually, and wondered if she could do anything to help. She'd certainly help him get drunk at least. That was something that the witch could do. It took a minute before the guy noticed the witch but she gave him a smile when he did. His words were a blatant lie but she didn't pick him up on it. She wasn't impressed with the lie, however. The witch did not like being lied to. Even if the person wanted to keep something to themselves. She'd rather they told her that they 'didn't want to talk about it' then actually lie to her.
But then he sighed and spoke. She chuckled softly. Yes. She knew how she felt. When she first came to Northvale, with all of these races, she thought she'd walked into Hogwarts. Twilight, though? No. That was a bit of an insult to the supernatural world. Sparkling vampires? That was an insult to vampires. And then you had humans that made the jokes that they were faeries. Now that was an insult to faeries! Pan shook her head softly, amused at her thoughts, before looking to Andrew. His final words made her chuckle a little. Well, that wasn't good. Alcohol was meant to lift your mood. Not make it worse. Even if the drug was technically seen as a depressant. It always worked to improve her mood. Not make it worse.
"Don't mention the 'T' word around vampires. Not unless you want them to rant. But Harry Potter? Yeah. When I first came here I did think it was like Hogwarts. Though Sorcerers do sometimes get offended by mentioning that also. Yeah, humans are ignorant to the supernatural.." she told him. And she could say that. She was half human. For thirteen years, she was ignorant to the supernatural. It was something in stories, films, not in real life. But now? She had been thrown into this world. And, well, she couldn't imagine going back.
