Being new to a town can make you curious. Wanting to see what's there is only natural. Jack looked around at his new surroundings. It was a quaint town with several shops and eating establishments. Clara would have liked it here, he thought whilst walking. He put his hands in his pockets and whistled. It was a nice day for a walk. Early spring. It was days like this he missed Clara the most. Jack thought perhaps a bit to much but when you're as social as is. You don't have a lot of people to talk to.
Being the new history teacher at the school though made him be more sociable. It him actually talk to people, at least it's something he likes to talk about. He loves history anything to do with the past gets his heart pumping. His own past though was another story. He can't remember the first part of his life. He couldn't remember what his parents were like if he had any siblings. All he could remember was Clara.

"C'mon, you big lard, just faites le merde already!" Sid Vicious just looked up at her (or she supposed he was looking at her under - for all she knew, he didn't even have eyes under that giant flop of fur) and panted, big tongue lolling out of his mouth. "Oh f'Chrissakes," she sighed. Fauve gave a yank on his leash to pull the lazy lug along. However, in a mere second, the dog went from lazy and slow to a sprinting blur of fur, taking off so fast down the street that she lost grip on his leash. "Couillon, feet pue tan!" She took off sprinting after him. The dog bounded up to a dark-haired man and jumped up on him, large paws reaching up nearly to his chest and bowling him over. On top of him, the dog woofed and licked at his face, big slobbery licks. "Sid, you git back here 'fore I hide you, dog!" Fauve was bellowing behind him. She grabbed the dog by the collar and hauled him off. "Fuck, m'sorry, man. Dumb ol' dog ain't got a fly's share of smarts." She reached out a hand to help him up. And that's when she finally really looked at him. Her eyes went wide, jaw dropping. Her breath caught. "Ory?" outfit!Notes: The French is all cuss words XD

Jack was lost in his thoughts when a large dog came running at him. It jumped him knocking Jack to the ground. Jack laughed as the dog licked his face. Trying to shake him off, when the dog's owner came running after it. She pulled the dog off him. Telling Jack that she was sorry for her dog."S'okay animals are attracted to me," he told her still laughing. Letting her help him up. Jack saw the woman's eyes widen in recognition. Calling him a name that he had heard before but only in a dream. "Sorry, no, I'm Jack Walker. History teacher at Northvale Academy." Jack told her giving her a small smile."You must have me confused with someone else."

To say she was spooked was an understatement. She hadn't seen her brother since they were just kids, but he looked just like she remembered, sounded like she remembered. Fauve's eyes scanned over his face, trying to find some little difference. He was older, of course, but their kind didn't show it well.
She was snapped out of her trance by Sid shoving his nose in the poor guy's crotch. She yanked him back, hissing, "Bioque!" Fauve shook her head and looked back up at him. "Sorry, cher. S'just...y'look th'spittin' of someone I used t'know. Uncanny as shit, really." She laughed lightly, though she was still freaked.
Fauve gave a little mock salute at him. "Name's Fauve Trudel, work at th'Gateway. This idjit here's Sid Vicious."

There was something about this woman that looked familiar, like he had seen her in a dream. He got lost in his thoughts again when the dog, Sid stuck his nose in Jack's private parts."Yeah, I get that a lot. I guess I just have one of those faces."He laughed but had this unshakeable feeling that he was the person she knew. That they had known each other. The name Trudel struck a chord though. Where had he heard that name?"Fauve? You'll have to tell me about this man that I look like. I'm intrigued. Jack leaned down to pet, Sid, trying to remember.

Sid snuffled at Jack's hand, apparently determined to sniff out everything he'd done , felt, or eaten in the past decade. Fauve rolled her eyes at the furry beast, but was glad the guy seemed to like him well enough. The dog needed a bath. Again. He always needed a bath, the big, stinky idiot.
"Yeah, must be," she agreed with a faint smile. Fauve cracked her knuckles nervously. "Was my big brother," she told him after a moment's thought. "Lost track of him early on in the war, see. Lost track of all of 'em, really. Rough times n'all that." With a shrug, she crouched down beside Sid and scratched at the back of his head. This guy was different from Ory, but so much the same all at once. He seemed more reserved, pleasanter. And yet he had this confidence that was so reminiscent of her brother, she couldn't shake it.
Her eyes narrowed as she studied his face again, lips pursing. "We grew up in N'Awleans. He's a earth fae," she told him.

Jack was already attached the fury beast. "Wish I knew if I had siblings but I can't remember anything before I was... Uh... Found."Jack didn't know why he was telling that to Fauve. No one knew about that. He tried to keep most of his past life a secret. Especially Clara the only people that knew that he was married was him and his daughter. "I lost all my memory about two hundred years ago. I was found by a lovely young woman named Clara. She was the love my life. I loved her more than anything we even had a daughter together. Clara died though, she was human."
An earth fae? Her brother was an earth fae? "Wait... You're brother was an earth fae?"Weird images started popping into Jack's had making him dizzy. Things like Fauve laughing, with another man that looked familiar. A young couple laughing at their kids playing. Things that Jack didn't remember seeing before. "I'm an earth faerie."

No memories? Something anxious was tugging at Fauve's stomach that made her itch for a drink. Insteaad, she just kept watch of his face, his movements. No memories, lost them two hundred years ago... "M'sorry 'bout that," she murmured, distracted and only replying out of reflex. She would be genuine about it sometime when she wasn't flipping out of her damn gourd.
Her breath froze in her chest, eyes going wide. No. No, there was no way this was happening after all of these years. For her to run into him like this, in this place, walking her goddamn dog. Fauve's brow creased as the pieces fell together. She knew she wasn't crazy, that he looked too much like her brother.
"Oriel," she told him, quiet and urgent. "His name was Oriel Jacques Trudel. They was seven of us. Char, Ori, Gren, me, Bi, Laurie, and Lev. Our paw's name was Oriel, too, and Maw was Arlette. I used to sneak clothes from the boys so I could play down th'docks with 'em."

As Fauve talked more images, more "memories". Things that had been tucked away for special occasion. The names were what really set him off. He grabbed his head as if it would stop spinning, but regaining 40 years of memories that had been lost is a daunting task. He placed his other hand on Sid to steady himself. He felt the awkwardness, the loneliness, the sadness, drain out of him. He felt more powerful. The way he was before, not what he had become, but not only did the memories of his childhood come back, but the memories of the war. The death, the screaming, the bodies... Jack shuddered. He remembered everything. He wrapped his arms around Fauve, not ever wanting to let go. "I'm so sorry Fauve, I'm so so sorry." He didn't know what he was apologizing for. Probably because he had left leaving his younger siblings and parents. Now the empty hole that was his memory was coming back. He started crying much like a child. He didn't care if anyone else came. He finally remembered. He found his sister he now remembered her. He felt love again.

There it was. He remembered. This was really happening, then. It was Ory, her big brother come back to her centuries after she thought he'd died. Fauve caught him in her arms, eyes still wide and startled, and not really sure what to do about all of this. She rubbed a hand on his back in a way she hoped was comforting.
"Merde, Ory," she murmured. "I thought you was dead, sho' sho'." Letting out a harsh breath, she gave him a tight squeeze and then pulled him back to look at his face. "D'you know what come of the others? I fought 'longside Bi awhile, but I ain't heard hide nor of th'others."
Sid, the stinky sweetheart, was nuzzling up against Oriel's side, licking his ear.
