Brent wasn't sure what that 'thank you' had really been in aid of but, okay, it wasn't exactly something he could complain about. He raised his eyebrows a little in response but kept his mouth shut to stop himself from saying something stupid, as he was clearly prone to doing.

"Now... that would be cheating." he smiled back at Chase, not moving away either after he was kissed. It wasn't cheating. Brent was just lazy and didn't trust himself to use his fire powers, even though this meant he'd have to suffer with this tail a little longer.

That was totally not cheating. Chase was pretty positive it wasn't at least. If he was in Brent's position, he would totally use the fire in him to dry his tail out a bit faster, but Chase could feel Brent had a reason. Even if he didn't give the real one. Chase would leave it at that. He could feel the wetness from his boxers start to soak his pink jeans and wasn't sure he liked the feeling of that... but there wasn't anything he could do about it, so he just ignored the feeling.

To be able to stay close to someone like Chase was doing with Brent at the moment was still remarkable to him. He didn't know or understand why, but he wasn't going to question it. He was going to take what he got and be happy about it. Chase's smile grew as he looked at Brent's eyes from his position close to him. "Let's go get something to eat sometime... the two of us."

[/b] Chase mumbled a little shyly. Was it normal to ask someone out on a date like that? Would Brent want to go out on a date somewhere public when he was a teacher? "O-or we don't h-have to. We can do something else o-or something."[/b] Chase whispered even quieter, the stuttering coming out because he had made himself nervous. His eyes flickered down and he was pretty sure his cheeks were tinted pink.

Was Brent being an idiot or had Chase just tried to ask him on a date? Jesus Christ that was really, really, really adorable. "I'd like that. But we'd probably have to go somewhere pretty quiet." He didn't have to think twice about accepting the offer. Brent forced back a grin and looked down at the fae, not noticing the long-awaited return of his legs somehow because he was distracted. "You're insanely cute. You should stop it." he whispered teasingly, poking Chase's pink cheek gently.

Chase's eyes snapped up to Brent's when he heard him agree. Somewhere quiet... Chase could handle that. He so definitely could handle that without a question. It was better than being denied or something. Chase's smile was huge when he looked at Brent, blushing even more when Brent poked his cheek and mentioned that he was cute. No... Brent was cute. Chase was going to stutter something back shyly before he felt Brent's legs return to him. He looked down at them and then smiled at Brent again. Your... uhm. Legs are back."

Wow, Chase wasn't stopping. He was just being even worse, although Brent wasn't entirely sure whether that was on purpose or not so he wouldn't tease him any more than he had done already. And to make things better, it was brought to his attention that his legs had returned. "Awesome." he grinned. That hadn't taken as long as Brent had first though, which was great. Because no more Mr Sassy Goldfish! "I don't know, somewhere that isn't loud?" Brent shrugged in his usual unhelpful way.

Somewhere that wasn't loud... wow. Brent gave... the definition of quiet. Literally. Chase looked at Brent with an unimpressed look before cracking a smile. He had to laugh at that. "I've never exactly dated before... so..."

"Is a movie quiet?"[/b] Chase asked, hoping Brent would say yes because he wasn't sure where else they could go that was quiet. Chase also thought that is was kind of perfect. A nice movie together. Maybe grabbing a bite to eat after or before or something. He could see it... and he wanted it.

Hah, see, Brent was funny. He didn't mean to be, but still. He was growing to really like the sound of Chase's laugh in a mostly non-creepy was so being accidentally funny was cool with him. Right, okay, and they were dating? Brent was kind of lost but felt way too awkward to say anything so just went along with that since he was happy with the idea. "Yup. Well, technically, it won't be quiet 'cause movies tend to be kinda loud." That was meant to be funny. What was Brent doing as a teacher again? He was more fit for all these other careers: being a comedian, model or musician, etcetera. He was just excellent at everything but had failed to pick the right career path.

Chase laughed at Brent's horrible joke. Hey... it was Brent and Chase was basically worshipping the ground he walked on at the moment. Chase didn't think it was even possible for him to like someone this fast but here they were... Chase still sitting in Brent's lap, with their faces semi close, talking about going on a date. He was pretty sure this was real. Right? "Well. Other than the movie it's quiet, duh."

A good, clear sign that Brent was in a brilliant mood was if he started telling his truly terrible jokes that should never have to be heard by anyone. A happy Brent still had his downfalls, unfortunately. He reckoned that people tended to take some of his jokes in such a bad way that he could've burnt something and got the same sort of reaction out of them. Luckily for him, that wasn't the case with the soul faerie currently sat on him so that was good. Even if he'd just messed things up. Honestly. Brent couldn't help but roll his eyes at the boy. "God, shush, you ruined my joke!"

Chase didn't think he had ruined the joke! He had laughed at it! That wasn't ruining it, he thought. Chase just shook his head and laughed again as he slid his hands up and wrapped them around Brent's neck. "And you're going to ruin my cheeks if you keep making me laugh and smile. But you don't see me complaining."
