Silent and still, Mona waited for Lupa to arrive. She'd arranged to meet the younger wolf here a short while ago and was certain that the blonde would turn up. Mona knew for a fact that she could trust Lupa; she'd watched the girl grow up, of course she would know.

She kept herself entertained by staring out at the deep blue-black water. The lake was most beautiful at night. The moon was reflected on the rippling surface of the water, almost looking as if it were moving with them from what she could see. The werewolf didn't think there was anywhere she'd rather be at the moment.

Lupa had slowed her pace to a brisk trot just a few minutes ago. She always found that this pace was just the perfect one for quick thinking and think she did. Here the werewolf was, going to meet her cousin in secret to plot the death of their current alpha, James Trancy. The second eldest son of Romulus Mars and Breilla Trancy the father of Lupa Selene Trancy and the former father of Zachary Romulus Trancy. Mona Trancy was her cousin and Beta and Lupa trusted her deeply. She wouldn't have chosen her otherwise. She knew her cousin's past and knew that the older werewolf would gladly help her bring down her father.

Finally, the sandy brown wolf arrived at the pier and had already spotted Mona. In case you were wondering, the darkness didn't bother her. Why should it? She was a wolf. Lupa let out a soft growl and emerged from the shadows, the pads of her paws barely making any sound on the ground. She greeted her cousin in wolfspeak, a mix of growls, barks and body language, 'Hello Mona."

Unsurprisingly, Mona was able to detect Lupa's approach even though she was currently in her human form. She was relieved to see the familiar sight of her sandy furred cousin; there'd still been an almost inaudible voice in the back of the redhead's mind that said she wouldn't show up. She ignored that voice that best that she could - it never did any good. It only drove the werewolf insane with worry.

From where she was sat, Mona turned to the left slightly as she answered her cousin with a warm smile, "Good evening, Lupa."

Lupa shifted out of her wolf form and stretched once she was back in her human body. A small smile crossed her lips as her cousin greeted her back. She knew that Mona hadn't fully trusted her yet. The very slight smell of worry told her that. The young werewolf knew that she needed to work on their relationship. Her cousin was to be her Beta, they needed full trust in one another for that to work. Their plan would never work if they still worrying if the other wolf would show up.

"Worried I wouldn't show?" Lupa asked with a small smirk, sitting right next to her cousin so that they could speak in hushed tones. One could never be too careful. "We do need to work on trust Mona but that shall be for another time. How is the pack doing right now? I haven't been back home for awhile now and for that I apologize."

It didn't entirely surprise the woman that Lupa had smelt her anxiety, of course she should've known that would happen. The smile fell from her lips as she sighed. "Yes, I'm sorry. You know what I'm like." Mona nodded. Working on those slight issues would be a good idea and would definitely pay off.

"That pack have been fine. As far as I can tell, there's nothing out of the ordinary going on." she replied. Things were certainly different without Lupa being around and Mona did miss her cousin while she'd been away, but she had a good reason to stay away. Mona placed a hand on the younger woman's shoulder. "And there's no need to apologise for that, sweetheart."

Lupa shrugged off the hand and shook her head. "Mona, please. We are here for the pack. Not me." She gave the older wolf a glare, putting on a more dominant figure. She wasn't afraid to pull rank if necessary and this situation applied. They both agreed she would be alpha and is she was to be one, she acted like one.

"Anyway, how about our numbers? How many are still willing to be by my side?" Lupa went straight back to business and pushed her emotions aside just as she should. She was a natural leader, dominant yet empathetic.

Still, Mona did seem to make a habit out of forgetting that Lupa was an adult now, and her alpha too. It was difficult, considering the age gap and how Mona still remembered Lupa's younger days where she didn't have to carry such a heavy weight on her shoulders. Not that it was too much for her though - Mona knew that her cousin had all the qualities of a successful leader.

"Just over half the pack, definitely. However, there's a few others that I believe I may be able to convince." the redhead informed her companion with a nod.

"Half the pack..." Lupa nodded slowly, processing the information. That was good. Almost too good to be true. "Actually... Mona, has there been a sudden influx of people on our side? Like a large spike? I think we should take a break from recruiting. Find out who is truly loyal within our ranks before we add more. How many would you say are 100 percent loyal to the cause? How many would you trust with your life?"

Lupa didn't expect the whole pack to side with her. There were still some wolves in her pack that would lay down their lives for her father and she would respect that. If she were to be Alpha and they requested for their lives to be taken honorably, she would gladly oblige.

Mona knew that would be a wise idea. At the top of her list of priorities was finding out who they could really trust to help within their pack. She didn't hold anything against those who chose to remain loyal to the current alpha but she did have a problem with those he was just lying to her. "There has." Mona confirmed, "I was beginning to think that would be a wise idea, Lupa."

Her cousin's final question caused the redhead to pause, giving her time to consider it properly. There wasn't a huge amount of wolves she'd trust with her life given the current situation and her issues involving the whole principle of trust but there were some that she knew were completely on their side with this. "I'd say... roughly a third, at the moment."

"A third..." Lupa repeated the statement with a small shake of her head. It was too small of a fraction to be satisfactory for the werewolf. She needed loyal wolves, not large numbers though that was a plus. For all she knew there could be a spy amongst them. "Mona, get working on finding out who is really on our side. It's of top priority at the moment. Stop everything you can to get this done as thoroughly and quickly as possible. If you find spies then do all you can to make sure they don't become a threat. Kill if necessary but that's our last resort."

As soon as the student stopped speaking, her eyes glazed over while her mind went back into deep thought. Was there anything else to do? Any other issues she should discuss with her Beta? Any more instructions she needed to give?
