I absolutely love Halloween. It is honestly my favorite holiday. Or.... tied for my favorite. Christmas was the other one. I just... liked holidays in general. I was fairly sure I had spent the entire night baking different kinds of cookies. Caleb fell asleep sometime throughout the night... but I kept on making cookies.
By the morning, the entire kitchen was filled with cookies. Caleb and Hazel were still sleeping as I quickly went and got dressed in my costume so I could wake Caleb up as my amazing superhero. Or God... or whatever he was technically classified as. EITHER WAY.
I quickly got dressed and then ran into the room he was asleep in. Which was, thankfully, not the same room Hazel was in because I jumped on top of him and put my toy hammer on his head. "Wake up or I, Thor of Asgard, will hammer your face! Or kiss it." I giggled very un-Thorish and bounced on him a little until I realized I needed to be strong and powerful. "I mean grrrrr."

I fucking loved Halloween. I still do. It was one day of the year that you could do whatever the hell you wanted, wear whatever you wanted, be whatever you wanted with no judgement whatsoever. And come on; there was so much sugar involved. Me and Halloween had never been a good mix for that reason, but we'd been a great combination on those very same grounds. Halloween was a party. Sure, it might not have been Christmas, but it was a close second best.
So of course, what better way to spend the best morning of the year but in bed? I could never do that on Christmas Day; Joseph had always gotten me up so early on Christmas. Halloween was the holiday that I traditionally laid in on, purely because I could. So there I was, having gone off to bed at about three am after making Jason convince me that he was not going to set light to the kitchen, curled up under the duvet and smiling a little. I was warm, and comfortable, and as the days had cooled being both of those things was a rarity. I was happy now, and I was pretty sure I would be all day.
Until I got jumped on.
I groaned exaggeratedly. It wasn't Christmas! I wasn't supposed to wake up early. But it might as well have been Christmas, judging by how excited Jace was. Could I really expect anything else from him? Even if it wasn't Christmas, Halloween was a pretty close second. Still, it took everything I had not to tell him to fuck off and let me sleep for a bit; I hated being woken up. I rolled over, and took a look at him, and bad to stifle laughter. That's right; he was Thor today. And I was supposed to be Loki. I was going to go with vampire, just for irony's sake, but then we'd had that idea.
I just raised my eyebrows a bit at the threat, trying not to laugh. "Hmm," I said, rolling over. "I'm willing to take my chances."

I kinda of pouted. I mean... as manly of a pout as Thor could muster. Kind of like when Thor went back to Asgard and then destroyed the bridge so he wouldn't be able to see Jane anymore. That was just... it was sad. But I had a feeling that I looked nothing like Thor and that was why Caleb was laughing. Okay... he wasn't actually laughing, but he was trying not to laugh and that was pretty much the same thing.
"Caleeeeeeeb." I whined and grabbed onto his waist while he rolled over. I cuddled into him and kissed his neck. "C'mon... There are cookies! Lots of cookies!" I tried to bribe him, but I didn't know if it was working or not. I hoped it was. I didn't want to waste away one of the best holidays ever trying to get him up. "Plus Hazel will be up soonish... And I want some alone time with you."
