Alex wouldn't say he was avoiding Zephyr, per se. But he was passing less time in the dorm, that much was clear. If asked, the faerie would say that their room was boring him of late, not that he was steering clear of any chance Ze might have of asking him what was bugging him recently. Nothing was bugging him. Alex just wasn't feeling very... Alex? There was so much going on, screwing with his head, his feelings; he was very nearly drawing close to giving everything the middle finger and fucking off to goddess-knows-where. Amsterdam's meant to be nice around this time of year.
So, again, instead of taking the time to try and just attempt sifting through the sickly mess boys were turning his head to, Alex was slacking off in the park and distracting himself with shredding blades of grass, smoking and throwing flower heads at his cat, Tootie, for her to chase lazily and bat her paws at half-heartedly.
It was a typical summer evening; the sun was sinking low and heavily in the horizon, the heat from the long day still weighed down the air and made it heady with the smell of petrichor caused by sprinklers in flowerbeds. Sundown was imminent but the sky was marred with growing clouds to the West so... there'd be no picturesque sunset to admire and sigh over, no vibrant colours would stain the sky. It was just going to be a simple end to another simple day.
Alex had shedded his leather jacket long ago and used it as an improvised cushion for his head to rest on. He was lounging about the small field that was adjacent to the actual park but disappointingly there were no macho teens to ogle at while they kicked a silly ball about. With a sigh, Alex exhaled a thin stream of smoke from between his lips and closed his toffee eyes, stubbing out the finished butt of his cigarette on the ground beside him.
Meanwhile, Tootie was on the prowl. Seeing that her slave owner was no longer paying her attention she decided to venture off in the hopes of finding something else to entertain herself with. Maybe a mouse. Alex hated those kind of gifts. Quietly, the black long haired cat padded off, her startlingly emerald eyes sweeping the immediate area for something that caught her interest.
A bird? Nah, they were too hard to catch. That girl jogging? Nah, running after her was too much effort. The guy smoking on the street opposite? Nah, he didn't smell too kind.
Ah... but what about that black cat that wandered on the other side of the field?
A couple of seconds later, Alex's cat was tearing down the field, looking like a dark puffball with her fur on end, growling her meows as she took off for cat that'd intruded in on the park. It was so sudden and fast that the only thing that Alex could recall do was open his eyes with a grumble and slowly sit up reluctantly. Stupid cat, always picking fights with the other neighborhood felines. If she got hurt the fae was going to throw a fit.

It was the first time that Silver had gone out from the academy grounds for the last three months. He just didn't have it in him to be out there. And much to Silver's annoyance, he had taken Artemis with him. He had kept the troublesome cat inside his dorm room the whole time to avoid any problems that might happen if the cat got out and got itself into trouble. That was the last thing he wanted.
He zoomed into the vacant field and sat down under a tree. He set the cat on top of his jacket and took out his music player and his sketch pad. The last time he had sketched was when he was at the staff office. He looked at the setting sun and begun his sketching while the sun was slowly drifting down into the horizon. Silver paid little attention to his surroundings when he was in his "sketching mode". He had to think of other things aside from Aine Luna. That child had been surprisingly mind bending to him.
One moment she was smiling and happy, the next she was teary eyed and was on the brink of crying. Though she had said it wasn't something he said, Silver knew that it WAS something he had said. He could feel it. He sighed as he pasued for a moment to see if Artemis was still beside him. Silver smiled when he saw his cat was still there. He was looking at his pad and looked up at him. It was like Artemis was trying to say 'that looks very nice, Silver.' Silver could always relay on Artemis to make him feel better.
Silver then turned back to his sketching and hoped that the sun was going to slow down just a little bit more for him. He didn't notice that Artemis had stood up and went exploring. The cat knew well how to return to Silver but then again, it was different when they were in a wide open space where Artemis could get himself lost.
He had finished his newest artwork just in time as the sun had disappeared. It was now getting dark, which Silver didn't really mind at all. "Time for us to go, Arte-" he said as he turned to see that Artemis was missing. "Oh no." Silver had gotten to his feet instantly. "Artemis! Come on! Time to go back!" he called out. This was not a game Silver wanted to play. He couldn't sniff out Artemis because there were other scents in the air, including that of an air fae. Clothes HereDrawing HereWords: 440
