[The Council]

RULE ONE
Be kind. It's as simple as that. Yes, in character you can have your evil little creatures, but out of then please be respectful to your fellow members and staff!

RULE TWO
There will be no detailed descriptions or glamourizing of things deemed inappropriate to the under 18s, for example drugs, violence, pornographic, abuse etc. This are not permitted in threads or in the c-box and doing so will result in the deletion of your account. It's serious stuff guys, please don't do it.

RULE THREE
When it comes to swearing we accept it but please don't think this means you can swear every other word in a sentence. Keep it minimal, in and outside of threads.

RULE FOUR
Some of you may find this rule stupid, but chat speak is frowned upon in posts. Sure, sometimes typing out that one long word can be tedious and time consuming, but text speak detracts from the serious nature of the plot. So, we would appreciate it if text speak was not used.

RULE FIVE
No god-modding or power-playing. God-modding is where your character is invincible - which they aren't - and power-playing is where you play the other persons character whether that be replying for them, roleplaying them or giving them no choice in the situation.

RULE SIX
Please wait until your character is accepted before doing anything. If the staff are taking a little while to accept please don't have a go at us - we have lives too! Just drop one of us a line (on themis sircarus', liam redferne's or willow porters' account) and we'll be sure to get round to it as soon as we can. And change your display name to your characters first and last, in lowercase, also. Thanks!

RULE SEVEN
When posting a thread can you please state whether it is open for anyone to post or closed and who for before the title. That way it's easier to see where others can post and where the thread that you're trying to post in is! The word minimum is 100 words excluding coding.

RULE EIGHT
Be active. It may be silly to ask but don't join if you aren't going to come back. It's just annoying. We love new members here at Northvale and would love it if you stayed! If you are thinking of leaving for good - tell us. If you're going on a short, or long, hiatus then post on the away board so we don't delete your accounts!

RULE NINE
Make sure to abide by the character application form and have your character suited to the race. We allow mixed races, with the exception of a vampirexwerewolf mix (Click here for the deets on the races). Relationships between races are allowed, so feel free to do that! Though, your fellow races might not like it . The ages are as follows:

1st Year: 13-14
2nd Year: 14-15
3rd Year: 15-16
4th Year: 16-17
5th Year: 17-18

If you character is a bitten vampire then they obviously don't have an age to go into so you can just put them up for any year.
Oh, and check the claims! We don't want you choosing a playby that someone's already got!

RULE TEN
When creating spells we ask you to use your imagination and to not steal from Harry Potter or any other book/film/comic etc. with spells. We're an original site so we want our own original spells that you as members can create, how fun is that? (This is where you nod enthusiastically.)

RULE ELEVEN
On the application, there's a section for a Secret Word, yes? In this section, you put 'Halloween'. It's nothing major, it just lets us know that you've actually read the rules. And, well, reading the rules is a must.

RULE TWELVE
The final rule. Congratulations for reading all of this! Just have fun! Post, chat with your fellow members and enjoy northvale! We're a friendly site and the staff are nice enough, though maybe slightly crazy, so enjoy it here.
