Maggie wanted a drink. Scratch that Maggie needed to get drunk. It was his first day at Northvale and he was already bored. He hadn't met anyone interesting and really missed his sister. He wanted to talk to someone but instead he decided to get drunk. He walked into the first place he saw that served alcohol. Which was the local bar, The Gateway. He decided to sit up at the bar. There were a few other people in the bar that he thought he might recognize from school, but he didn't want to talk to any of them. "One beer, please," he told the bartender. When she asked what specific kind. He told her to, "Surprise me." When Maggie received his beer he took a sip wondering what his sister was doing.

Andrew was lovely livid. Getting the shit kicked out him was not his favorite pasttime. No, he needed something.
He definitely needed to get drunk.
He didn't really remember the stumbling stroll to the bar, just that it hurt like shit since he was so burned, cut up, and worse. The best solution he'd had was an icepack inside a wash towel that he'd placed on the side of his face where the worst burns were. It sort of had the look of an off-white eyepatch, except on his chin rather than an eye.
Entering the bar, he completely ignored everyone else. He sat down hard in one of the open stools on the bar, two away from another person, who also appeared to be desiring drunkenness. “Barkeep, gimme a shot of whiskey, and get another one lined up. I'm gonna need it.” His attitude was obviously regressing, but wine coolers weren't going to do the job.

Beer, wasn't getting Maggie drunk fast enough. He needed something... Stronger. “Can I get a rum and coke?” Yeah something strong. He smiled to himself he loved getting drunk, not the hangover part but he had learned to cope with that after one of his brothers taught him a charm to help. He started thinking about his family when his train of the thought was interrupted by another person ordering a drink. Judging by the towel wrapped around his head the other boy looked like he also needed a drink.
“Nice towel,” Maggie laughed. Then noticed the burn marks and gasped to himself. “Guessing you had a run in with a pissed off fire faerie.” He laughed even harder. “The names Magnus by the way but please call me Maggie.” Then he took a large drink of the fresh rum and coke placed in front of him.

It was a bit annoying, having someone talk to him while he was trying to get plastered, but hey, whatever. At least the guy wasn't a jerk, like someone he now knew. Or a perv, like another someone. But kindliness would be difficult. “Something like that.” Guess he was another schoolmate. Sometimes Andrew wondered if he would ever get to know all of them: there were just so many magical people.
He downed the first shot with ease, tilting his head back to speed it into his system. The burn was glorious, a million times better than the burns from Brent. Although sexy, they burned with shame. He really just didn't want to think about it. By the time he'd swallowed the first shot, the second one was there, and he downed that one, too. It would be hellava paycheck later, and a worse hangover, but that was unimportant. Getting drunk was. He desperately needed to forget shit.
“It's not really funny,” he scolded, but it was half-hearted, and he was smiling a bit too, albiet wearily.
He sighed, knowing his obligation. “Andrew. Andrew Locke. And don't you fucking dare call me Andy.” He said it with humor, but the warning rang true. He didn't want to get in another fight.

Maggie could tell the blonde was pissed off by the way he was downing his whiskey. He was kinda of cute. Knock it off Maggie he's probably not you're type. You need a friend before you even start thinking about dating and or sex. His name was Andrew and he said to not call him Andy... Silly, Andy don't you know I'm just going to call you, at least in my head, Andy. ”Nice to meet you, Andrew. So, I guess you're also trying to get hammered.” Maggie laughed. Maggie was always giggly when he's drunk.
He downed the rest of his drink and got another. “It's so refreshing to see that I'm not the only one that likes to get drunk,” he told the blonde trying to be friendly. He needed at least one friend at this school and this guy seemed perfect. But only if he knew what his mouth tasted like. Maybe but not yet. [/blockquote]

Wow, someone that understood! Andrew's temperament was usually sweet and amicable, so his sudden mood swings were unexpected. It was most likely because the guy didn't know him at all, but hey, he would take what he could get. “Hell yes. I'm so beyond done with being sober.” Again, a joking tone, but he was speaking the truth.
It was kind of nice, this little conversation. Andrew took a moment before his third shot to examine what exactly was sitting next to him. The alcohol hadn't made its way to his system yet, so he could see clearly enough. The guy – Maggie – was wearing the most unmasculine clothes he had ever seen on a guy. Girly, even. Just like his name. His anger made it take a minute to sink in. This guy – is he some sort of tranny? That just made things sooo much wierder. Andrew put every effort in to make sure that it didn't affect him. Didn't work to well.
He has to be from our school. No normal person would be both weird and know about fire faeries, he concluded. Well, whatever. Wouldn't stop him from getting drunk. Or having a new drinking buddy.
He coddled his third shot, waiting a moment before draining it. “So, Maggie, what're you doing here?” He gestured to the bar in general.

Maggie laughed, this guy was funny. Maggie tried to remember when he had laughed this much. It had been a long time. When he found out he was going to this “school” something none of his siblings had to do. He cried. He cried like a little girl that had gotten her dolly taken away by a bully. ”Yeah being sober is so overrated.”
Maggie was on his third rum and coke and was starting feeling slightly tipsy. ”Wow this music is reeeaaally good, Maggie wanna dance.” He then attempted to grab Andy's hands. When Maggie wants something he always goes full for it and right now he wanted to dance. He also needed a dance partner, and poor Andy was the closest person to him.

Well, he certainly agreed with the guy on something. It was definitely time to get smashed. Third shot...fourth...fifth...finally it was taking effect. He'd built up something of a tolerance to alcohol earlier, and it made it annoying difficult (and expensive) to get drunk. But now his vision was a tad bit wobbly – the first sign. Another shot and he'd be in a dancing mood.
Speaking of dancing, his new drinking partner was in one at the moment, so he held up a finger to dodge a pair of grabby hands and drained the sixth small glass. “Kay. Not my kinda music, but hey, whatever.” The whole world was beginning to be “whatever”, which was wonderful. Why else we he get so plastered?

Maggie waited for his new friend to finish his drink. All of the sudden Maggie wasn't in a dancing mood anymore. He was in a need to lie down because he doesn't feel so good mood. He needed to eat something. All he had been doing since he had gotten to the school was eat cookies and drink alcohol. Not a great combination.
[/font] ”Hey you know what I don't feel like dancing. I really need to eat something.” He felt wobbly and tried to sit back down at the bar. Maggie felt like he was going to barf. ”Hey, can I get a burger.”He asked the bartender. When she asked him what what he wanted on it. He replied, ”I don't care... everything, but mayonnaise.”

Music was good, so a dance was appropriate. Mind, Britney Spears wasn't his favorite artist or anything, but the pulse was strong, the lights were flashing and he was tipsy. So the music was good, if only really because of the alcohol.
He took Maggie's hand and wobbly-stepped out on the dance floor. He wasn't the judgmental type, as odd as his dance partner was. Andrew knew he had a pretty face, but this guy took it much further than just 'pretty face'. Pretty clothes, pretty moves, pretty angry face...
Angry face? Only a few minutes in - the first song hadn't ended yet - Maggie had left to yell at the bartender about a hamburger. Nothing better do, having lost someone to dance with, he plopped down beside Maggie. "Wow, got a weak stomach or something?" He laughed. So opposite of him, who could definitely go for another shot. Which he asked for. "Just don't expect me to be your designated driver!"
