Bored. For some reason, that word seemed to cover what Ze was feeling more and more often. Which sucks, because he didn't do bored. Not at all. Though he had his games for entertainment, tonight, he didn't feel as up to doing it as usual- that was weird within itself but he didn't dwell.
He zipped up his jacket, not wanting the unusually chilly night wind to nip at his bare chest. Yeah- he sort of just rolled out of bed, threw on a jacket and pulled jeans on, stealing someone bathroom slippers. Yay for laziness. He wasn't prepared to impress anyone but... damn. Maybe putting on a shirt wouldn't killed him?
So where was a decent place to hang out? The roof? Maybe. He trudged up the spiral staircase, with a cooler he filled with some drinks and beer from the kitchen. Hey- it was stealing if no one saw, right? Right.
It was a school night, and here he was... on top of the roof, with a cooler that had a couple of beers, a bag of chips and listening to his music in the dimly lit place. God. He should of dragged someone up here with him. It was dark, and while it wasn't super late, Ze knew for sure, he wasn't coming down in awhile.
Sigh.
He opened the cooler, popping open a beer can- it wasn't the best quality kind but really, beer was beer and he was going to chug it, damn it. With the bag of chips in his lap, he stared out onto the campus below, sitting on the space of the roof's edge and the fence.
It was kinda relaxing up here to tell the truth. Relaxing but... it wasn't doing wonders for his bored-ness. Great. In his old town, something like this would of went awesome with a game of Dare and Dare. Not Truth or dare like sissy do- either you dare or you dare, no weaseling out of. Dares that required streaking, being carried and thrown in the lake, bothering a bees nest, etc. They did stupid things. Stupid but fun things. Ah, the beauty of his and his old friend's friendship. So many scars and so many moments he wanted to forget. Damn it, now he feels a bit home-sick. He heaved a sigh, switching the song that was being listened to something more up-beat.
....it wasn't working.
Maybe he could take over the student lounge and watch some soaps?

Stupid rules against smoking inside the castle and any of its facilities. Fair enough, Alex smoked in the dorm anyway and sometimes he sneaked a quick one in the lounge. It was a terribly bad habit which he knew he'd be better off dropping and he'd honestly tried to on more than one occasion... but Alex was weak! And not many things beat a post-sex smoke. So every single one of his efforts had ended up in miserable failure so far. Maybe he'd give it a go next week and, like, start the summer nicotine-free or something.
Determined to have a moment's peace for a smoke on campus, Alex climbed all the spiralling stairs that led to the roof. Not many people hung up there on weekday nights - most were in their dorms studying or procrastinating - so that was the safest place to head before popping back to the dorm for an early night. With an unlit cigarette dangling between his lips, Alex pulled his small leather jacket tighter around his bones and braced himself for the bitter night air.
To his surprise, it looked as though he wasn't going to be alone up here. Up on the floor there was a figure sat in the company of a box that suspiciously looked a lot like a cooler. Alex fished out a lighter from his pocket and lit his tab, cupping his hands around it, while he took his time to wander up to the other person on the roof. It was night time and Alex's senses too lacking to let him be able to tell if it was a vampire or wolf from smell.
"Zeze?" Alex asked, exhaling a sigh mixed with grey smoke. He'd only needed to take a couple of steps closer and his eyes to grow more adjusted to the moonlight for him to see that it was his roommate, Zephyr. "What y'doin' up here drinkin', y'lil' rebel?" Well. At least now he had company that probably wouldn't mind him smoking for a while. The ember on the end of his cigarette glowered an eerie amber in the dominating darkness and Alex continued walking up to where the fire fae sat, a small smile growing the closer he drew.

All peaceful. Nice. Quiet- y'know, all that shenanigans. Nothing amiss down below, nothing troubling with him, and sure hell, this beer wasn't as good as he hoped. Hmph. Note to self: buy better drinks... He thought bitterly, chugging down the can and tossing the empty can to Hephaestus's know where. Pft, don't give him a dirty look- not like this place was... like... okay, whatever. Its a stinking roof. And didn't feel all that environment-worry with picking up his empty bottles. He'll do that later.
He opened the cooler, pulling out another- there wasn't much to begin with, just a decent amount that could suffice for one or two people. He popped it open and about to take swig of it when.... huh?
What was that? He froze, the drink still in hand as his blue eyes landed on the only entrance and exit of the roof; pulling out his headphones and he lower his drink, instead opting to stuff his mouth with some chips and seem innocent, causal and not drinking on the roof. Yup- just a can of pop in his hand was all...
"Huh...? Alex? Pft," His shoulders sagged in relief- for a second there, he thought it was a, like, some teacher looking for some awol students or something, "Hey dude." He kept the beaming to a downlow- well, at least things were going somewhere?
While Alex and him did bicker often, it was more playful anything... beside, he honestly liked the other's presence a lot. At least he wasn't boring? "Meh, care to have one?" With that being said, he reached in to pull another. "I didn't know you smoke- airhead, that's a nasty habit to have, y'know~" He chuckled, holding up the offered beer can with a grin, "Can I bum off one from you, by any chance?"
Ze wasn't much of a smoker- if anything, it was booze was where the party was at; but occasional, he did have a few smokes here and there....
"Hey- Alex, entertain me or something. God, I'm so bored... and sitting up here, ain't really helping with it." He leaned against the fence railing, his eyes half-lidded and obviously, he had a bored expression. Casually, he stuffed his mouth with the bag of chips at hand, ignoring the fact he hadn't offer any of it- nope. He can give away cheap bottle of beers but there's a line that's crossed if you think he's going to give up his chips.

This guy wasn't going to be another Milo, was he? Alex could really do without another serial cigarette bummer in his life. Okay, okay, Alex pinched Milo's smokes and booze in return but that was beside the point - they were his. But then again, a tab for a can of hop seemed like a fair trade. Alex shrugged and tossed his carton of lights on Ze's lap as he took the offered can. "Sure. Knock y'self out." The fae muttered around the filter. "Din't know y'liked the odd puff either."
Alex brushed the floor clean of dead leaves and other debris with a rather strong gust of wind before he sat himself down. The fae scooted nearer towards the edge so that his legs dangled over it; Alex was wary of many things but heights wasn't one of them. Probably came from being a faerie, the only race that flew if you didn't include the mixed breeds that infested the school. It wasn't like they counted anyway. Alex peered over the ledge at the nothingness below; the last couple of students were being ushered inside by a monitor with slight haste seeing as curfew was soon. No one really paid attention to that silly rule anyway. You just had to be careful about it and not be caught. Something that was unsurprisingly easy for a faerie since their miniature winged form was incredibly difficult to spot in the dark.
"I jus' came up here fer a smoke, firefly." Alex scoffed and brought the cool can up to his lips, his cigarette burning quietly between two fingers on his other hand. "If y'that bored, jus' go watch some porn in the dorm or somethin' 'cause I ain't gonna entertain." The boy sucked in his lips dampened from beer with the tiniest of grimaces of distaste. This stuff tasted like piss, like that twenty cent a pop stuff he used to get back in Spain. Fuck, that stuff had been vile but being a teen on a tight budget it was the best he could afford back then. It probably went without saying that the mornings after he'd felt anything but rosy. "Y'coulda at least scored somethin' decent-er t'drink." And Alex took another swig anyway. Maybe it'd get better after a while or something.
The students and monitor that'd been scurrying along one of the dimly lit paths that snaked through the grounds entered the castle without a single glance upwards at the two faeries sat drinking on the roof. Alex hummed a little sigh and leaned back against the iron railings, his leather jacket making a faint squeak noise as he moved. "Dare y'to ditch those fuckin' things y'got on y'feet. I know they ain't yours but they're fuckin' gross." Alex said as he gestured to the wafrle bathroom slippers that Ze had on. How the man had had the guts to wear them outside Alex honestly did not know. "If y'throw 'em and get 'em in the fountain I'll kiss you."

Gladly taking a cig out of the pack and lighting it up; its been awhile since he had one. Though he never had enough to be called an addict but he wasn't all new to it- never was he able to sneak past his parents without them smelling the cigarette smoke, and a tug of an ear from his mother always made think of his stupid mistake of trying. But an idiot never learns, and his friends were doing, so he didn't want to be that guy who didn't accept one when pass. Plus- a little smoke after some sex was just amazing.
"Mmhmm," He closed his eyes, taking another drag drag before puffing out the smoke with a small smile, "Well, you learn something new everyday, eh?" Leaning against the fence, and putting the crap beer down in favor of the smoke. Of course he would- the fact that the beer would get better or not after a few more cans, he didn't care. Frankly, he would of toss them over the fence to see how far they'll go if he was pushed that far into boredom.
"But do you seriously think I'll watch porn when anyone could walk in?" He cracked a smile, puffing out the smoke in Alex's direct, "I do that when everyone's asleep, dude." Ze smiled became teasing, since he was joking. Well... half-joking. He was lucky that his dormmates were heavy-ish sleepers. Really lucky.
He gave a shrug, not really caring, "I wanted to try out a new brand... and it was cheap. Wasn't really worth it but meh, its drinkable still, right?" He tapped away some of ash from his cirgarette to the side, seeing their was no make-shift ash-tray he was willing to. Bleh, who needed one? His eyes turned to the sky- it was a decent night tonight, and though, he wished that summer or global warming or something will hurry up and warmed him up already. Maybe he should of put a shirt on or something under his jacket.
Meh, too late to go back now.
"The slippers? But they're pretty comfy, dude..." He glanced at his feet and wiggled his toes- they did look weird but it was the first thing that he saw, and... well..
They weren't his, so what the heck?
"Better put on some lip balm, Airhead~ I'm expecting that kiss." He killed his cig by tossing into his unfinished beer- he had more of that crap in the cooler, "Though, I woulda prefer getting one without doing a dare." A well-placed, cheesy wink and a childish chuckle from his lips, he kicked off his slippers off and picked them up.
He hopped off his seat, backing away a few steps with a determined frown, he threw the first one. This was a bit risky, seeing that there was a guard patrolling around and all, but from his point, surely he wouldn't hear the splash of the slipper landing in the fountain?
Of course not.
Mostly because the first slipper didn't go in. Parked right infornt of the fountain, almost taunting him because he didn't make it Ze sighed with a sheepish smile, "If I get at least one in, would that count?" Though there was a chance the second wouldn't go in.
...Mind stop being a pessimistic N-not that he was desperate for a kiss or anything. But beside that one, platonic kiss on the cheek before Alex left... and the fact that the airfaerie was pretty good looking, of course he wanted one. Psh, stop your judging. He tossed the second one, biting his lip as he watch it- success! There was a quiet splash, and sure enough- he didn't really see the slipper land, but....
He gave a small grin, "Also, fair enough that I give you a dare? Um..." He hummed, tapping his chin in thought, "If you can juggle three beer cans for a minute while standing on the ledge... I'll let you borrow my camera again? For a little bit, I mean..."

Alex just gave a small amused huff through his nose when Ze spoke about getting a kiss without having to go through a dare first. Cheeky little flirt. The faerie eyed him demurely over the top of his can and gave a gentle, unhurried roll of his shoulders. Maybe. Maybe, maybe. Today, tomorrow, someday. Ze wasn't a bad-looking specimen; Alex actually found him quite hot when ze wasn't, y'know, getting on his nerves, He sipped quietly his beer and tore his gaze away from the other fae. He wouldn't mind, to be truthful.
The fountain wasn't that fae away from the building's roof which they were sat on but being so high up would undoubtedly make throwing accurately difficult. Alex rolled his eyes at Ze's first throw anyway. It'd been pretty pathetic despite the effort. As he went to through the second, alex scooted forward a few centimetres and brought the yellowing filter up to his mouth, freeing both of his hands to clasp at the slate ledge. His cheeks hollowed gently as he drew the nocious fumes into his lungs, filling them with teh warm, tainted air he'd grown almost irreparably hooked on.
Alex wouldn't tell Zephyr this but... the far may have given the slipper a helping little nudge into the fountain with a breeze. It wasn't like the other guy was looking at it to be able to tell that Alex had maybe, uh, cheated a bit? And anyway, the impulse to do so was rooted in the the part of Alex that wanted a little lip-on-lip action.
"Alright, alright." He said with a small grin, exhaling a steady stream of smoke. "It was one f'lips, two f'tongue and since y'got one... c'mere, you." With a casual flick of his wrist, the cigarette that'd been burning close to the filter, fell down to the courtyard below and Alex got to his feet. Well, Ze had done the silly dare and he'd promised a little kiss as a prize so why not? The fae, now stood, hooked his finger on the collar of the other's shirt and tugged him closer to brush their lips together. The touch was light and almost innocent. Sweet, if Alex had to describe it himself. A simple peck on the lips. Like he'd promised.
"And. You're an idiota.." Alex teased, pushing the bronzed young man away quickly after the kiss. "I juggle bottles f'the Gateway ev'ry time I work there. I think I can handle some cans." Came with being a bartender. It wasn't an ability required for working there but, Aether, it didn't half get him some decent tips some nights. Those times practicing with plastic bottles on the front lawn had definitely paid off in the end.
Leaning over, Alex drained his can and fished in the cooler for three fresh cans to juggle around a bit with. "Here I go. Betta get y'camera ready~" He chirruped, weighing the drinks in his hands before throwing the first in the end. "I think y'just liked the little photo I left on there for you..."

The corners of his lips quirked, as he gave a satisfied smile- sure, in his mind, this could of been a excuse for a possible way for him to... er, get to know his roommate better but he'll settle with a little on the lips. He liked Alex. It was a fact- whether it was passed the line as Like as in I think he's attractive to Like as in I'm willing to date; the lines were always blurred for him. Friends were people and well... he preferred going out with rather than someone he barely knew. It felt weird. And beside, he liked a person for their personality.... or if they can cook, which was always a plus in his book.
Then again, he argued with his logic that his roommate fit that criteria. But... that thought was pushed way back. That was a no-no thought; who the hell would be dumb enough to date their roommate? He asked himself. He shrugged off, since deep down, he knew the answer was someone like himself.
"Well, thanks to you, I lost my temporary shoes..." Ze complained under his breath, closing the distance between the two faeries, ...I think that deserves more than a peck." A little demanding, but there was a little undertone of teasing and the grin on his face said 'But I'll take what I can get'.
He's lips were soft. Though the kiss was only... like a second, at least in his opinion, that was the most notable thing. The fire fae was honestly tempted to bite as a reaction to it or even better, deepen it. But as soon as Alex tugged him in for the kiss, it ended and left a small little tingle, and a small show of licking his lips. "...Maybe another one?" A small laugh tumbled from his mouth, following that, and he hoped in the low light, the other wouldn't notice the hopeful glint in his eyes.
He took his seat back on the roof's ledge, giving a small bounce of his shoulder but on the inside.... well, maybe he should pay more attention? He knew Alex worked at the bar- as what, he forgotten but now....
Well, he could think of another dare. Or prize.
"Well... that little present was surprising. But I was more annoyed of all those cat pictures...." He gave a pointed look with a quirked eyebrow and pursed lips, pulling another cigarette from Alex's pack, "Fine. Well, I don't want my camera in your hands again. What about I'll answer a question or something you wanna ask? I like that rather than risking my camera for an easy dare~" Ze blew out the smoke, a grin left its wake as he dragged out another puff of the cigarette.

"Another one?" Alex said with a light chuckle, starting to juggle the three cans with ease. "Nahhh... maybe some other time~" This wasn't the first time that Ze was pushing for a kiss and the more he did so, the more Alex was tempted to pull away and tease. Don't get Alex wrong, the fire fae was a nice guy, but he found this more fun to do.
Standing precariously yet confidently near the edge, Alex juggled the beers for a short while. They were getting all shaken up like this and there was no way Alex was going to be stupid enough to even dare trying to open one now. "If y'were more annoyed by the cats then y'liked the photo, give it back then." Alex finally said, catching the last can after throwing them about and catching them deftly. "I'll give it t'someone else if y'don't like it." The teen rolled the cans away to the side where they knocked with a tinny-sounding bump against the cooler.
Yeah. This guy was going to be another Milo, Alex decided once he saw that Ze had helped himself to another smoke. It didn't bother him too much, to be honest. Just a little bit. Ze had supplied the crappy beer Alex was drinking.
"Ugh, tha's not exactly fair, firefly." Alex whined at getting the promise of lending the camera revoked. He grabbed one of the cans in the cooler - not one of the shaken ones sat beside it - and opened it. "Like, what would I wanna ask you?"
And then he thought for a moment. What would Alex want to ask Ze? There were a lot of things once he began to think about it. Simple things, like where he came from, when was his birthday, when he came to Northvale, if he had brothers, sisters, a pet... but those were also the boring things compared to something else he could come up with.
"Hmm... fine then. A question." Alex muttered while he rubbed his chin in thought, looking down at the courtyard below. The paved garden with its fountain centerpiece and beds of flowers seemed like a different place of a night now that students weren't crawling through it. It didn't make it any less beautiful though. "Y'first time. Tell me 'bout it." The faerie said with a grin over the top of his can. "Then y'can ask me somefin' if y'make it good."

He felt a small disappointment but an eyeroll and smile was given in return- while before he joked about the kisses, there was a slight tingle of where Alex's lips been just moments ago and... well, a sudden bout of selfishness filled him. He wanted more. "Fine~" He eyes had flash of his true desires, but the easy-going smile was plastered on and stuffing his hands in his pockets, "But I'm so holding on to that, Airhead~"
Holding that and pushing for more. It was simple. He made up his mind. And sure as hell being a stubborn butt, sticking to his thoughts. Childish as it seems- he was freakin' seventeen for Christ's sake- he was holding his cards for a little bit longer, cement their friendship a bit more. Just incase, y'know, if Alex ends up rejecting him after asking him out... or him just being too much of a pussy to ask. Either reasons was correct.
"Shush. I'm fine with the photo... just... stop with the cats. Do ya obsession of them or something?" He took a small drag of the cigarette, pursing his lips together and blowing the plume of smoke at Alex, " Because the amount you took... you're borderline 'old-cat-lady'. Or- would that be 'old-cat-guy', being that you're, surprisingly, a male."
Well, Alex wasn't kidding when he said the dare would be easy. Then again, everyone seems to have more grace with things than him. Well more grace beside basketball- he'll stubbornly deny the possibility of someone being better. His eyes glanced at the cooler as the cans of beer tossed back in- pretty shaken, the cans but he didn't pay much attention beside pushing to the back of his mind to watch which to pick up. Knowing himself, though, he'll probably forget before he picked up another.
While the view down below must of been better, he could beg to differ. His eyes turned upwards, as soon Alex's amber brown eyes turned to him- nope. He wasn't the creep studying the other while he wasn't- how could you accuse him of such a thing? Beside, the view above wasn't that bad either. Most of the stars, though still weren't as bright as they were in Gandia. He almost dipped into his thoughts and getting lost in them again.... but then Alex's question threw him a bit off. Fair enough- he should of expected something from him, after all.
"...First time in general? Or with a guy?" He said, putting out his half-finished cigarette against the ledge before tossing the butt of it- bleh, he smoked his fair share for today anyways. "Well... my first time with a girl- a old girlfriend of mines and it was a few weeks before my sixteenth birthday. But I won't get into details, seeing that you're not into girls..." He scooted closer, the cool spring breeze starting to pick up, "My first time with a guy... well, it was a older friend of mines. I don't remember much, since it happen at some party- we kissed a couple of times before but... well, we pretty drunk and he practically did everything, since I was pretty clueless to begin. Pft, I'm not even sure how I manage up the stairs, with how shit-faced I was, but I did. Did it in the host room, of course."
He laughed a little, since the morning scene afterwards.... well, it was memorable, "Not my proudest moment...gotten a little more pratice since then~" Ze winked, cheesy as could be- but hey! Part of his charm, afterall.
He started to lean more against Alex with a teasing grin, "Hmm... this starting to seem like a round of truth or dare- but anyways. Your turn." He closed his eyes for a second, since going with the same "Who was your first time" wouldn't be as fun (curious to know, but wouldn't be as fun to just ask back). "Uh... what's the scariest thing you had to do, forced or not?" Simple enough- wasn't the mother of all question but.. eh, he stuck with it.

Old-cat-guy? Alex scoffed his slight offense at such a title while waving his hand to waft away the plume of smoke blown in his direction. "I don't obsess." He stated flatly. "Nuffin' wrong with likin' cats." So what if he just seemed to like them more than most did? It was perfectly fine. Next time he got his mits on Ze's camera, the cheeky photo he'd taken was going and he was going to plague his memory with even more pictures of cats.
"You... go f'girlies, too?" Alex asked, raising a gently curved eyebrow. He'd always assumed Ze just went after guys since Alex had been on the receiving end of a couple of flirts from him so far. Huhs. That was kind of surprising. As Zephyr told the air fae of his first time, he drank as he listened, huffing a mildly amused chuckle through his nose and rumbling in his throat when the 'morning after' was mentioned. Although, he had a slight curiosity if Ze topped or bottomed... not that it was important. He kept that question unvoiced and swallowed his beer, wiping his mouth with the end of his sleeve to catch a small dribble that escaped his lips. "Awkward mornin' after? Musta been fun."
Alex didn't pull away when Ze began to lean some of his weight against him. It was quite comfortable to have the warmth of something living pressing into his side on a bitter night like this. It was almost as bitter as Alex's stomach when Ze asked his question. Out of all the things the fire fae could've asked he'd picked one of the ones Alex wanted to answer the least. His stomach twisted ice-cold and did away with the pleasant warmth that'd been sitting there from the beer until now.
"U-Uh... scariest thing." Alex repeated with a nervous flicker of his tongue over his bottom lip. There were two things that'd tormented the fae so far. One went by the name of Piazza and the other was those wretched Games.
Alex refused to tell Ze about that vile vampire. Up until now he'd been doing a good job of ignoring that he'd ever happened and, telling his friend, would just incite more questions. Alex didn't want to relive those old memories which were sat so comfortably away in the darker and ignored part of his mind.
"You... ever heard of the Games?" Alex asked, rubbing his face with the heel of his hand to hide the pallid shade he'd turned. "They was last year and I was a Memoria in them. I volunteered for this fire fae that was, like, new 'round here and a few of my friends were picked for the Games so... it was kinda an impulse thing." He paused to take a large swig of his beer and buy himself time to pick his words. Admitting fear to something wasn't Alex's cup of tea but practically everyone that'd been picked had felt it.
"They got cancelled in the second challenge 'cause it was too dangerous but... it was still scary. 'Specially when Aria got bit... seriously, though. When that bloodsucker got his teeth into her, it was terrifying. There was so much blood." And Aria's screams. Now that he was recalling those events, he remembered them clearly; such a shrill and disturbing noise that he hoped he'd never have to hear again. Alex turned to Ze with a small, pained squint. "Can we, like... talk 'bout somefin' else? I don't like talkin' about the Games. Maybe another day, yeah?"
