[Silver Briell Tyde]

Silver sketched quietly. Taking in all the details of Andrew's face and drawing them on paper. The silence that seem to be covering them was comforting. He smiled every now and then as he kept sketching and sketching. Then Andrew answered him which made Silver laugh a bit, "Lazy of going to class yet brave to actually keep out of it and running away from your security guard." Silver said, reminding him of the student who was chasing him earlier. He knew well how the boy felt since he were that way once upon a time.

"I teach college literature... Speaking of stories and dramas created by people who are no longer existing yet their works remain, their legacy continues as other read them time and time again fascinates me... How many remember the works yet barely know the writer..." Silver answered as he was nearly half way through his new masterpiece. "And yourself? What year and race?" he asked as he took a second to look up from his pad to see Andrew's eyes.

Silver's lilting, quiet voice lulled Andrew into a relaxed state. He enjoyed hearing it, as kind words left that tongue and created lovely sounded waves into the air. Andrew knew enough of science and music to picture it, and momentarily closed his eyes to do so. Hopefully Silver had already drawn his eyes...

"English, huh? I don't read a lot, but I used to as a kid more. Stuff like the Hardy Boys?" Yeah, that was kind of lame. But he'd always admired them, how'd they'd solve puzzles no matter how hard, and look cool in the process. What boy wouldn't? He chuckled at himself.

The question so suddenly directed at him forced his eyes open, however. "Ummm...?" Considering he'd thought of himself as a human for so long, answering that question took him a minute to remember. "Sorcerer, fifth year. Technically though, 'cause I suck at magic. They just threw me in fifth year, y'know?" Skipping magic classes didn't help, either.

[Silver Briell Tyde]

Silver smiled when andrew said that he used to like reading. However, to Silver, reading was one of the few things that he could do freely to pass time. Being immortal gives you so much time. More time that Silver ever thought he wanted. When he became a vampire, he was a bit glad at first that he had strength to protect his family. But when time came, the gift became a curse. Silver began to notice that he was not getting any older and sooner or later, the rest of his family was going to notice. He left soon after, with lies of make better for himself.

"You don't have to read just because everyone else does. If it's not what you like, then don't do it. Because in the end, reading will only make you miserable since you never liked it in the first place." Silver said with a smile. Then he turned back to his drawing that was nearly done. Just a few more addition and he was done. "Attending classes might not make you suck as you put it." he said and smiled. Placing down his pencil and looking at his work before showing it to the model. "Here, have a look." he said as he turned the pad around.

Andrew half paid attention to the comment. He'd heard it multiple times before. Of course, previously it always spoken harshly and angrily, whereas this time is was more chastising than anything else. Certainly not cruelly.

Anticipating the picture was worth it. "Woah. That's ridiculous, dude," he gasped. He hadn't even intended to react so strongly, but the likeness was so great that it had been pulled out of him.

The sketch was different from the painting. Whereas the painting was all surrealism and some abstract, the sketch was so...literal. So real. It was like looking in a mirror. Andrew slightly wanted to keep it, except that seeing his face every day on his shelf would be more than a bit creepy.

"I mean it. Like, seriously, that's good..." he emphasized. Good art was hard to find these days.

Silver enjoyed Andrew's shock. He knew partially that it was how the boy would react upon seeing a drawing of ones self with such detail and sharpness. "You may keep it if you wish. It was enjoyable making it and more upon seeing how you react to it." he said as Silver looked down on his clothes and brushed off small charcoal bits that had clung to his clothes. He had to be carefully since the charcoal might break down into smaller pieces and would smudge his clothes.

"Thank you for the compliment. It took me a few years to get my skills to this level. But its worth it. Everything is worth it when you value it." he said as he looked up and smiled.

Not that he really knew what to do with such a precious piece of art. But he wasn't exactly going to say no, right? Maybe he'd frame it or something. But he couldn't put it on his wall...that would be awkward, having someone walk into his dorm room and seeing that. They'd think he's extremely vain or something. And heaven knows how Tobias would react...

Andrew gingerly took the sketch, placing it in his bag as carefully as he could manage with his untame fingers, attempting to not crush the corners or crease it. "Um. Thank you, sir?" he tried. Words normally weren't his best friend, and now they had seemed to abandoned him altogether.

But for all his awkwardness, Andrew's heart melted just a bit as Silver told him the tiny story about himself. "Huh. Yeah, I guess so!" It wasn't the best thank-you one could dream up or anything, but Andrew would pay him back for this properly someday.

As he packed up, the bell rung and Andrew shot up in realization of the time passing. "Uhhh, gotta run!" He grinned, knowing the man wouldn't begrudge him running away from snitchy prefects. With any luck, they'd meet up like this again. And he always said, Lady Luck loved him.

Silver smiled and nodded when Andrew took the drawing and carefully kept it in his bag. Then the bell rang and Andrew had quickly said his goodbye and left. Silver simply waved and smiled. He looked out the window and saw Andrew exit the building, "We shall meet again, Andrew Locke." he said as he swiftly left the art room and went to his class. Silver was going to have a good day.
